According to Deadline, Jesse Wigutow - who is currently writing the sequel to TRON: Legacy for Disney - has closed a deal with Universal to pen the big screen adaptation of Fire. The graphic novel was published by Icon Comics and was sold to the studio by writer Brian Michael Bendis (Uncanny X-Men) and Zac Efron during Sundance three years ago. The Liberal Arts star has been attached to the project ever since and still hopes to take on the lead role in it. Below is the official description of the Fire graphic novel. What do you guys think of this project? Sound off below!

Imagine that you are a shy, quiet college student. Just an average guy trying to get through each day as best he can. Then your government contacts you. They want you to be part of an experiment in the art of human covert operations. Instead of creating an agent from someone within their own ranks, they want to create an agent from nobody, from scratch, from you! Loosely based on events in the American intelligence community during the Reagan administration, Fire tells the unique and powerful story of a young man's journey through the complex world of international intelligence. Fire was Bendis' first major work and helped him attract and develop a new audience for crime graphic novels that he would further challenge in later works such as Jinx, Goldfish, Torso, and Powers.

Efron has grown on me a lot, very enjoyable actor. Would make a funny Clay Quartermaine.

Efron has grown a lot as an actor. This was done by Bendis. So it definitely has my interest.

BMB needs some cinematic lovin', when it comes to his original stuff.
And more Tron sounds good to me, if they get into the implications of Quorra on Earth and not just go into the grid again.
So, this screenwriter is doing good in the world, as far as I'm concerned.
Especially if he's the one writing the version of the Crow reboot where it's not Eric Draven, but "James" (presumably named after O'Barr). Hearing that news made me breathe a huge sigh of relief, let me tell you. If that news was accurate, then I wisjh the Crow reboot well and if it turns ut to be shit, then it can be passed of as just another shitty sequel.
And Effron? He's not been bad, since he sprouted. KaBoom was awesome.

I agree with both of the above comments. He's definitely sharpened his acting chops. I'll watch this one as it moves along.

He has certainly proven himself to be better than those god awful High School Musical movies.

"Average Guy" does not look like Zac Efron.

Efron has grown as an actor and has proven himself. So...

Yup, Efron's definitely come quite a long from running and jumping around in High School Musical, giving dramatic looks and singing about his feelings. Which I actually watch from time to time, cause it seriously makes me laugh every time. :'D

But yeah, nowadays I actually really like him as an actor.

Haven't seen his recent work but I'm sure Efron is a good actor and getting better. But he does not look like the average guy, if I looked like Zac Effron I'd be banging Mila Kunis or something
MightyZeus - 12/10/2013, 10:27 PM
Why Zac Efron? That dude completely sucks as an actor. Should bring back Garret Hedlund or even bring in Aaron Taylor Johnson.

Zac Efron has starred in crap after crap he has no credibility unless you count his fan base of teenage girls.

And Charlize Theron was cast in AKA Goldfish in 2002 so what's your point?
