According to Variety, Boyd Holbrook (The Host), Tom Cocquerel (Anzac Girls, Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie), Sam Reid (The Railway Man) and Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher) will all be testing for the role of Kyle Reese on Monday. The character was made famous by Michael Biehn, and in The Terminator, he was sent back in time to protect the mother of the then unborn John Connor. Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) will play Sarah and the role of John will be filled by Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty). Bigger names like X-Men: First Class' Nicholas Hoult and Tron: Legacy star Garrett Hedlund were originally eyed by the studio, but their focus turned to lesser known actors when both declined to read for the part. Terminator: Genesis will be released on July 1st, 2015.

Get Keanu Reeves. He is the answer to everything.
JorL5150 - 1/10/2014, 12:09 PM
ten bucks says the rock is cast in the sequel.
FreedomFreeLife - 1/10/2014, 12:14 PM
Sam Reid - NO!!! TOO MUSCLY!!!
Wilson Bethel - Creepy and bad looking
Tom Cocquerel - never seen, never heard
Jai Courtney - TOO MUSCLY!!!
Boyd Holbrook - most style guy so i would like to see him(if he got long hair).
So i say Boyd Holbrook of those choices.
DefcoN - 1/10/2014, 12:14 PM
Let this die already. Terminator and Terminator 2 are cult classics and the story should have ended right there, with a perfect closure.

So this will be an excuse to get the T-800, Sarah Connor, John Connor and Kyle Reese to team up against other Terminators/Skynet.
BackwardGalaxy - 1/10/2014, 12:16 PM
Please no Jai Courtney.

Ladies and Gentlemen....'Meat' Grif.

He's absolutely raw when it comes to opinions of remakes and reboots.

They bought rights back, reboot it and it will be fully rated R. They said they want add darkness and horror effects like it was Terminator 1
So reboot will be like Terminator 1 movie, dark, gritty.
Niklander - 1/10/2014, 12:39 PM
Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese!?!?
affleck
The first choice seems interesting!!
I would rather see a sequel to Salvation than a reboot.
DestroyerofHaters - 1/10/2014, 12:41 PM
In before Intruder attempts to insult DC in a non related article.
npamusic - 1/10/2014, 12:45 PM
Boyd Holbrook has my vote, Jai on the other hand, doesn't.

Salvation would not have been half as bad if not for Sam worthingtons horrible acting
Nivekian - 1/10/2014, 1:26 PM
Charlie Hunnam
DukeAcureds - 1/10/2014, 1:26 PM
What's wrong with Anton Yelchin? Why replace him? This would be a perfect link to the old series. Is this Terminator 5 or not? This is bullshit.
DrunkenPirateNukem - 1/10/2014, 1:48 PM
Another Terminator movie [frick] no terminator ended in terminator 2.

There is no such thing as 3 and 4, they dont exist.

And if they are rebooting...do it with James Cameron..the one and only director of the terminator saga....but instead they choose someone who´s just gonna crap on everything and you can bet he is going to paint the terminator in black to make him "modern" as Padilha did it with bobocop

[frick] this.
vtopa - 1/10/2014, 1:54 PM
Jai Courtney is a good choice.
JorL5150 - 1/10/2014, 2:14 PM

T2's my favourite f*ckin' movie. I never get bored of it.
DukeAcureds - 1/10/2014, 2:20 PM
Cameron's Terminator movies are classic and in a league of their own. In those two movies, time is relative and their are no alternate realities. His universe balances on paradoxes like a cosmic ballerina.
But, beyond that, the franchise can easily reboot by feeding off of Salvation and using the time travel element.
As such there are many levels of descent from the greatness of the franchise.
1. The original film, The Terminator is a masterpiece.
2. The sequel was a stupid idea, but turned out to be a classic and a perfect companion piece.
3. To go on without Cameron was just dumb, but even though Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines was shit, Terminator: Salvation was okay. The franchise is still enjoyable.
4. Rebooting the franchise entirely, ignoring even the obvious linking devices in Salvation, without Cameron. This is entirely akin to lining up Cameron, Hurd, Scwarzenegger and Hamilton and shitting on all of their faces, in turn.
These are the degrees of descent.
RetroFit - 1/10/2014, 2:22 PM
Oh who cares about another crappy Terminator movie. The first one is classic, the 2nd one was awesome and the rest have sucked. I'd rather see another Indiana Jones movie than another Terminator movie and I thought Indy 4 was the biggest travesty Hollywood has made in 20 years.
cipher - 1/10/2014, 2:46 PM
trudy- Yeah, mate.. exactly. Aliens and T2 still hold up, even today.

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit...

It's the only way to be sure."
DrunkenPirateNukem - 1/10/2014, 2:53 PM
Too bad Cameron decided to keep bringing up Avatar (the last of the mohicans but in blue) sequels instead of making great sci-fi action films like terminator and alien.

Well its 21st century...and the money is who decides.
Timerider84 - 1/10/2014, 3:12 PM
Terminator is done and over with. There have been so many cast changes, that I don't care anymore about this. I want a sequel to Terminator Salvation with Christian Bale in a FUTURE WAR at NIGHT with PLASMA RIFLES and HK's. How fricking hard is this? I'm done with this.
TheDudeRises - 1/10/2014, 3:22 PM
They need Sebastian Stan. He'd be perfect
MrCameron - 1/10/2014, 4:10 PM
If this movie HAS to happen why can't they just throw a shit load of money at James Cameron so he can direct this?
BIGBMH - 1/10/2014, 5:47 PM
Please not Jai Courtney. He really didn't bring anything to the role of Jack McClane in A Good Day to Die Hard. That was an awful movie though, so maybe if this somehow manages have a good script, he could be ok.
NoPhucksGiven - 1/10/2014, 6:44 PM
This will be ass.
Squaremaster316 - 1/10/2014, 8:21 PM
Any drama in T2 was pretty much due to James Horner's soundtrack.
CantRainAllTheTime94 - 1/10/2014, 8:40 PM
Ironically I just posted an article relating to Cameron and the cast of T2
CantRainAllTheTime94 - 1/10/2014, 8:42 PM
@timerider84 thoughts exactly. Salvation had its mistakes but just cuz something doesn't do as well as expected, doesn't mean reboot. You can make a sequel to fix the mistakes
VinceP98 - 1/10/2014, 10:16 PM
Jai Courtney would almost make a better Terminator
