According to Twitch Film, the upcoming big screen adaptation of Assassin's Creed may have finally found a director; Safe House helmer Daniel Espinosa. That movie proved that he has a very capable grasp on action sequences, as both Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington faced off against each other and a number of bad guys. X-Men: Days of Future Past and 12 Years a Slave star Michael Fassbender is currently attached to star and produce in the movie which is one of many adaptations that video game developer Ubisoft have on the way. Stay tuned to CBM for further updates.

Safe House was complete garbage... No character development, No real plot development, Reynolds mumbled through most of it and it was extremely predictable. Also, I know a movie is trash when I fall asleep during it...
DeadpoolMikeyXD - 1/22/2014, 12:57 PM
I just disagree. Went to see it in theaters and wanted my money back...

I really liked Safe House. It wasn't as good as I hoped, but I thought it was pretty good.

Nice ol' donkey-dick Fassbender is associated still, maybe this video game adaptation will actually be decent...
SimonM7 - 1/22/2014, 1:13 PM
I hope they make this movie as an entry in the overall series, rather than some inconsequential adaptation of whatever game was out when this was penned. There's enough lore and an expansive enough universe that you can make a film series that is self contained, but informs stuff in the franchise, overall.
SimonM7 - 1/22/2014, 1:21 PM
Fassbender would make a terrible Ezio, surely? Ezio is Italian! :O
Timestampede - 1/22/2014, 1:25 PM
I agree. I think Fassbender could do great in this role! I also wish they would do an Uncharted movie!
SaxoWolf - 1/22/2014, 1:27 PM
Safe House was a great movie. Well almost anything Denzel stars in is terrific.
ScorpioRisin - 1/22/2014, 1:33 PM
I don't think we'll see a direct adaptation of any of the games. It will probably be it's own assassin and timeline, king of an expanded universe thing.

Michael Fassbender could play Desmond Miles, Altair and be great in these two roles, but Ezio Auditore da Firenze I want to be portrayed by an actor who is not very well known!
Timestampede - 1/22/2014, 1:39 PM
@SaxoWolf
See I tend to disagree, never been a fan of Denzel Washington. But that is just my personal taste.
SaxoWolf - 1/22/2014, 1:45 PM
@Timestampede

Well there's nothing wrong in having a different opinion. It's all good brother.
DamienA - 1/22/2014, 2:05 PM
Fassbender is Desmond I'm pretty sure. Start with the best one Altair.

@Bravado

blackscienceman - 1/22/2014, 2:43 PM
i want this movie to be good.. but movies based on video games.. and vice versa.. hmm
NoPhucksGiven - 1/22/2014, 2:52 PM
Video games just dont translate well to movies. I hope they prove me wrong with this.
JediSuperGuy83 - 1/22/2014, 3:02 PM
I wish The Rumors of Ridley Scott directing a Halo Movie were true that would be kick ass like Prometheus Meets Black Hawk Down
ds9epicfan - 1/22/2014, 7:00 PM
In my opinion,second best video game series out there,so I'm hoping they respect the game and the fans and give us one hell of a movie!
DrunkenNukem - 1/22/2014, 7:53 PM
This movie isn´t coming out in 2015....2016??? could be...damn...[frick]ing 2015...let 2016 come soon
charlie2094 - 1/22/2014, 9:39 PM
Wouldn't mind this being true! Safe House was a decent watch, sure he could do a good job given a decent script. Think this will turn out well, it's Ubisoft making their own films, just like Marvel now do. Comic films used to be just as bad as video game films, all have to start somewhere

Think Fassbender will be Desmond, or whatever modern day protagonist they have...sure he'll be a character that appears in several films, not just one.

Kind of hope they skip Altair, or even just use a new time frame. Wouldn't mind of they just create new Assassins, could still work the same, though I would like to see Ezio
mgeoff88 - 1/22/2014, 10:09 PM
My hope for this movie just went up a lot more. Safe House was a well directed movie.

Daniel Espinosa could certainly handle AC.
MightyZeus - 1/23/2014, 4:01 AM
Never saw 'Safe House' but hopefully Assassins Creed the film will turn out good. Not a lot of video game films are good.
jlabatman - 1/23/2014, 4:59 AM
Love these games, just hope a movie on them will be good, especially with the talent attached!
FerFogs - 1/23/2014, 6:37 AM
Huge possibilities. Hope it's good.
