According to Deadline and various other sites, The Conjuring's Patrick Wilson is set to join the cast of Edgar Wright's Ant-Man. That means he will be joining the already confirmed Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, along with both Michael Pena and Evangeline Lilly (although the latter has yet to make a decision due to the fact that it entails signing up for multiple sequels). The Wrap goes on to add that, "It’s not immediately clear which side Wilson’s character will be on, though Marvel has been searching for another charismatic leading man, a description that fits Wilson." Two options instantly spring to mind here. That of the lead villain in the movie or a young Hank Pym, as Douglas does begin his career as the pint sized superhero in the 1960s. What do you guys think?

60s PYM!? Guys, our original fancast choice for Pym has joined the cast.
Reasonnnn - 2/27/2014, 12:49 PM
I [frick]ing love the Michael Douglas casting btw.
SKOne - 2/27/2014, 12:49 PM
He has the look to play a younger Michael Douglas as Hank Pym.
koolaidbag - 2/27/2014, 12:51 PM
Dear god if he's young Michael Douglas in the 60's I'll die of happiness
MrSotoMan - 2/27/2014, 12:52 PM
Just saw him yesterday in Young Adult, very underrated actor.
LMB10 - 2/27/2014, 12:52 PM
That would be pretty funny if he ends up being the 60s Pym
EdgyOutsider - 2/27/2014, 12:52 PM
Between the director, composer, the cast and the idea of it being a heist film. I guarantee this will be one of Marvel's best films. I can really see Wilson as a younger Hank Pym for sure. But, he was also great in Hard Candy as the villain. So, this is definitely interesting.
Reasonnnn - 2/27/2014, 12:52 PM
@SotoJuiceMan You should watch Hard Candy if you haven't already. Him and breakout role Ellen Page are phenomenal.
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 12:53 PM
... Holy cow. 60's Pym guys.
MrSotoMan - 2/27/2014, 12:53 PM
@Reasonnnn- Yea that movie was really damn good, I have the Blu-Ray.
ALegendaryPanda - 2/27/2014, 12:54 PM
Wow that's pretty awesome!
TheClemster - 2/27/2014, 12:56 PM
I don't know what to eat tonight, that's a real dilemma
Interestein - 2/27/2014, 12:57 PM
Hopefully 60's Pym! I've always wanted him as Mr. Fantastic, but this is a good choice too.
Reasonnnn - 2/27/2014, 12:58 PM
Haha, totally forget he played the douchey CIA agent in THE A-TEAM. He'd make a great villain if he isn't young Pym.
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 12:58 PM
If he's young Pym... God I'll be pissed.

Waste, waste, waste...
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 1:00 PM
Cast Rudd and surround him with better choices (for respective roles). Great.

Remember that I said this:

Omarvls - 2/27/2014, 1:01 PM
Has to be 60's AntMan

I mean you guys didn't really believe M.Douglass was playing Hank Pym in the 60's too?
ezio619 - 2/27/2014, 1:01 PM
oh man, if he is 60s hank pym, that would be great,i like the idea of an older hank and scott lang and two ant man across multiple time periods,it sounds very cool and interesting to me,hopefully it works,i can understand the dissapointment of people who wanted young hank ypm and they wanted it to be his story though
BritishMonkey - 2/27/2014, 1:02 PM
60's Pym. Calling it.
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 1:02 PM
@Omarvls

LOL a lot of people did :P
blackandyellow - 2/27/2014, 1:02 PM
Egghead.
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 1:02 PM
Marvel, please go DOFP on Ant-Man so you can bring young Pym to the present.
Nomis - 2/27/2014, 1:03 PM
If he is the "younger" Hank Pym than that is great casting.
CherryBomb - 2/27/2014, 1:03 PM
YES YES YES HE'S ALWAYS BEEN MY CHOICE FOR ANT MAN
<3
I love him so much. Please be Hank.
Kurne - 2/27/2014, 1:03 PM
I'd believe Wilson is Lilly's father.
manofsteel1942 - 2/27/2014, 1:03 PM
@ Gusto

The character is Wasp...not Cockroach.

Destined - 2/27/2014, 1:04 PM
I immediately thought young Pym to Douglass's character reading this. He fits it and he's a solid actor. He's also already worked with Samuel L. Jackson in Lakeview Terrace too!
fettastic - 2/27/2014, 1:04 PM
He's a great actor, bring it on.
PYM90 - 2/27/2014, 1:05 PM
Yes! He was my original pick! Who knows maybe some time travel device or the time gem will bring him to the future.
TheRealistStarLord - 2/27/2014, 1:05 PM
but he looks nothing like Michael Douglas....
Omarvls - 2/27/2014, 1:05 PM
@Kurne

Yeah a lot of DC Only fanboys were saying how Marvel got an old man to play Ant Man

I was like Marvel got an old man to play and old Ant Man

lol smh
MrSotoMan - 2/27/2014, 1:05 PM
Off to Orlando.

I gotta say though, he might be a villain in the movie hence someone who has charismatic leading man, but then again if he is "young" Pym, that is a good choice.

Something tells me it is a villain.

"Orlando, it's a magical place." ;)
ezio619 - 2/27/2014, 1:05 PM
patrick wilson is great.i would be cool if they do a sort of story split since the villain is suppose to have ties to hank pym in the 60s...maybe tell two stories going on at the same time
CherryBomb - 2/27/2014, 1:07 PM
Rooney Mara for Wasp ;)

Although it'd be awesome if they went for Asian Janet.
Garrus - 2/27/2014, 1:07 PM
I approve
Arrowhead77 - 2/27/2014, 1:07 PM
I thought Hank Pym was supposed to be the villain?
cipher - 2/27/2014, 1:07 PM
Listen to Bravado, Clem.
