"Anything can happen. All I know is scheduling and all that stuff—anything can happen. I’m open to all kinds of things, but who knows? Actually I took myself out of the Luke Cage running a while back, just because it was people trying to put people against each other.

[It was] Idris vs. Michael Jai and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, this is not even greenlit! Can we talk to Marvel? Why are you talking to me? Don’t put me against my homeboy for a movie that’s not existing.’ I said, ‘Take me out!’

I heard [it’s greenlit] but I haven’t gotten any calls. I’ve been hearing stuff like, ‘oh you’re too old,’ and I’m like, ‘Man do my workout 20 years ago and we’ll talk about who’s too old (laughs).’ Like I said, anything can happen, I never rule anything out. I’m game. There are no rules. What’s up, Marvel? I’m right here, baby. I ain’t goin nowhere. You know where I live!"

Many thanks to Collider for the video and transcription. Terry Crews is obviously busy right now with Brooklyn Nine Nine (which was recently renewed for a second season), but if he can make the time, the majority of fans certainly wouldn't complain! We currently have no idea what sort of age group they're looking at for Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, so it's certainly possible that Marvel and Netflix might select him for the role. What do you guys think?

Terry IS Luke Cage. If anyone can pull off the extremely muscular, intelligent, street smart man, it's him. Terry, sign-up. Do it man, do it.
Highflyer - 3/10/2014, 1:31 PM
It would be AWESOME if he did do it. But didn't he say he wasn't before? I may be mistaken.
Destined - 3/10/2014, 1:31 PM
Terry would be awesome! Love him in Expendables too!
JoJo1982 - 3/10/2014, 1:32 PM
Give this guy a chance!!!!
GURILLAPUD - 3/10/2014, 1:32 PM
YES!
Batmaniac - 3/10/2014, 1:34 PM
I'm down with Crews playing Cage.
Isra - 3/10/2014, 1:34 PM
Crews is too old for the character, doesn't matter how many years he's been training.

Cage is not that old.
Fanmar16 - 3/10/2014, 1:34 PM
actors who are promoted to a role are never chosen, is a mistake to do that
MrMartinMarvel - 3/10/2014, 1:35 PM
Too old.
GliderMan - 3/10/2014, 1:39 PM
I am ALL UP for Chris Rock's daddy playing Luke Cage.
Doopie - 3/10/2014, 1:39 PM
i very much doubt this will happen
AsgardianHobo - 3/10/2014, 1:40 PM
I could see it. And if the age thing is an issue, they can always make him appear a bit younger on screen
JoeMomma29 - 3/10/2014, 1:41 PM
Naw! I love Crews but does not really fit him. Hate to say it but The Rock should have been Luke Cage, Marvel should have snatched him up!
Interestein - 3/10/2014, 1:42 PM
He'd kill it, perfect for CAGE! As for IRON FIST, even though I'm not the biggest fan of over using an actor for CBM roles, I'd love Charlie Hunnam, solely from that kung-fu fight scene in PACIFIC RIM. Jessica Jones, I'm not really sure. For DAREDEVIL, I have to say Michael C. Hall, but I'd love Ryan Gosling in the role.
MercwithMouth - 3/10/2014, 1:42 PM
Cheeseburger Eddie would be awesome as Luke Cage.

But my favorite is still Michael Jai White. Was watching Never Back Down 2 last night, his character is perfect for Luke Cage. Ex-Con, extreme badass, insane fighting, ridiculous strength...
MexicanSuperman - 3/10/2014, 1:43 PM
@Isra, Michael Douglas is Hank Pym...so your statement is invalid.
Tevii - 3/10/2014, 1:43 PM
Perfect choice and considering its a series on Netflix and not movies, the age thing should be fine.
AlphaDean - 3/10/2014, 1:43 PM
I really hope they do not cast Terry Crews in this Role
TheBaroness89 - 3/10/2014, 1:44 PM
Nah- he's cool and all but I want someone fresh for Cage. When people look at Crews all they see is shitty sitcom Are We there Yet and the Expendables movies... I want Luke Cage to be taken seriously.
Dotanuki - 3/10/2014, 1:44 PM
President Camacho for Luke Cage '15!
third3ye - 3/10/2014, 1:45 PM
LOL I love Terry Crews but he's really more suited for comedy. There's no way I can take him seriously as a superhero, I'm just gonna bust out laughing every time he shows up.
rockerdude22 - 3/10/2014, 1:45 PM
Doubt he'd get it, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in the role!
TheBaroness89 - 3/10/2014, 1:45 PM
@interestein
CHARLIE HUNNAM AS IRON FIST?? What are you smoking? please share
mawilli4 - 3/10/2014, 1:45 PM
him or the Rock. they're my top two.
TheRealistStarLord - 3/10/2014, 1:47 PM
Terry Crews is a perfect choice, but age issue. Michael Jai White would be an ideal choice, but he has another role in DC's Arrow. Can he handle both universe, acting as Bronze Tiger and Luke Cage at the same time?
JoJo1982 - 3/10/2014, 1:47 PM
And how old are the guys playing tony stark and Henry Pym
johnjacob - 3/10/2014, 1:49 PM
Would love to see Crews in this part. He would bring much needed humor and brawn.
Dandy - 3/10/2014, 1:49 PM
Terry Crews would be perfect for the role. CAST HIM NOW!!!!!
ThePowerCosmic - 3/10/2014, 1:50 PM
Would be great! I wish he was a bit younger, but who cares....he's awesome!
Cartoon22 - 3/10/2014, 1:50 PM
noooooooooooo
WruceBayne - 3/10/2014, 1:51 PM
I had read before that he had no interest in playing Cage or any superhero for that matter. I'm glad he changed his mind.
HavocPrime - 3/10/2014, 1:51 PM
I can see him as Luke Cage easily tbh. I thought he was the main choice to begin with
jazzman - 3/10/2014, 1:51 PM
@third3ye

u do realise what u just said. Marvel movies have comedy so he would be perfect then by your statement lol
Optimus83 - 3/10/2014, 1:52 PM
Cool. ...The Real Luke Cage
SpiderMiles - 3/10/2014, 1:52 PM
I like the idea of this...
I'd like the dude who played Tybalt in the Romeo + Juliet film to play Iron Fist.
marcvader1 - 3/10/2014, 1:52 PM
He's always been my choice Luke Cage. Do it Marvel. Thise role is not age dependent.
Rogers - 3/10/2014, 1:56 PM
TheRealistStarLord - 3/10/2014, 1:56 PM
@JoJo1982

Portraying Iron Man doesnt require to do action sequences mostly. Mostly be done by CGI. RDJ can just sit back and let the animators handle the movie magic.

As for Hank Pym, the character is an old man in the antman movie, so its meant to be portrayed by an old man...

To portray Luke Cage, you need to have a very good good physicality.
MercwithMouth - 3/10/2014, 1:57 PM
Was Tybalt played by John Leguizamo? In the Leo DiCaprio version anyway.
TheBaroness89 - 3/10/2014, 1:57 PM
Are people just wanting Terry Crews because he is a muscular black guy or do you TRULY feel he is a capable actor and worthy to represent Marvel as Luke Cage for not only Luke Cage but for Defenders and possibly a cameo in Marvel PHASE 3 or 4 ?
Terry Crews entire body of work is comedic roles even in Expendables and he isn't very good- he is considered a 'serviceable' actor. I have to think there are more black actors out there that this guy isn't the go-to guy for Luke Cage.
