"There's always a level of expectation and Marvel keeps raising the bar higher and higher," Chris Evans told The Hollywood Reporter when asked about the anticipation surrounding Captain America: The Winter Soldier at last night's world premiere. "But you have confidence that they're going to make a good movie, you kind of let yourself go and allow yourself to be directed. And you really just become one small piece of the Marvel puzzle." When asked how the sequel informs Avengers: Age of Ultron, screenwriter Christopher Markus added: "Obviously we can't kill off the Avengers before they have their second movie. But that's the good thing about Marvel. Even though it's interconnecting universe, the mandate is always 'Do the most exciting things you can do for this movie. Don't save anything.'" As for how work on Captain America 3 is currently progressing, Markus revealed that work is already ongoing in preparation of that 2016 release date! "We've had many, many conversations, and pretty much know where we're going," he said, before talk turned to the possibility of facing off with Batman Vs. Superman on May 6th two years from now. "I think when two cars drive at each other, somebody has to veer off eventually..." Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:31 PM
Who knows, maybe Marvel might veer off, in my opinion that's being the bigger person and not participating in dick measuring contests.

WB is showing a sign of "bullying", hell I am very very anticipated for BvS, but I do wanna see these 2 movies do well in the box office. If both share the same day, they will both flop. It is simple.
JordanKing - 3/14/2014, 12:31 PM
Ooooh, fighting talk!
Jollem - 3/14/2014, 12:34 PM
sorry, cap
Marvel1997 - 3/14/2014, 12:34 PM
Agressive attitude I see.. And I don't blame them.. Look at the situation and what has happened... Think about it. I'm not gonna waste my time explaining because then I'll just be seen as the ""apparent"" instigator or try to create competition between both companies.......
Marvel1997 - 3/14/2014, 12:35 PM
@ProfessorX- Loool
DEVLIN712 - 3/14/2014, 12:36 PM
Look, both films will make A LOT of money. It's not like they're only in theaters for one showing
JordanKing - 3/14/2014, 12:36 PM
@SotoJuiceMan Maybe not flop, but certainly not do as well as they both could have done.
MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:37 PM
Very...very risky inDEED
MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:37 PM
@JordanKing- Flop.
joshmosh - 3/14/2014, 12:37 PM
The thing is with batman vs superman commencing filming soon, they may be able to release their movie at an earlier date. Anyway BvS and JL will be a lot better than The Avengers
Marvel1997 - 3/14/2014, 12:37 PM
Then again... How hard is it for Marvel or DC to move? Furthermore why don't Marvel move the Cap 3 date to JULY 4TH. That would make more sense, and the marketing/promotion and hype behind that shit would be insane
Jollem - 3/14/2014, 12:38 PM
marvel studios is all like

and they should just be all like

MisterMoustache - 3/14/2014, 12:38 PM
If Warner is pushing it up to april 29, Marvel won't open Captain America 3 against Batman vs. Superman's second weekend. So both will move. At least that's the diplomatic way to do it and I think they'll do it.
MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:39 PM
If both these movies release the same day, they both lose a tremendous amount of box office intake due to both movies losing most likely 200-400 million dollars less than they could of made.

Someone just movie, don't care who does it doesn't show weakness, it shows strength. Either WB backs down and stop acting like an asshole, or Marvel becomes the bigger person and move away to a different date.

Either one, they both need to do it and end this shitbacle. Whoever.
DrDoom - 3/14/2014, 12:39 PM

themidnightking - 3/14/2014, 12:43 PM
I'm preparing for the 2016 Flame Wars, may it be as epic as 2012's
JordanKing - 3/14/2014, 12:43 PM
@SotoJuiceMan Uh yeah, saying it again doesn't make it any more factual..
TheBeard - 3/14/2014, 12:43 PM
Marvel is not worried
SpoonWielder - 3/14/2014, 12:44 PM
Not that I'm pro Marvel, but I think DC should move. Technically Marvel had that time slot first. It was Warner Bros, who moved Batman vs Superman there after the fact. It's kind of dickish to move their movie there and expect Marvel to move out of the way for them.
Jollem - 3/14/2014, 12:44 PM
@Marvel1997 - be wary of the feigster. he's a sneaky weasle
Nomis - 3/14/2014, 12:44 PM

Marvel " Look we're going to lose the weekend and the over all Box office BUT they will feel it when their movie does not break Avenges opening weekend and total Box Office records, and hey I'm sure people will still want to go see Cap and through in Ms Marvel and The Vision and we're good to go"

DC/WB " Wait those F#$#rs aren't moving oh sh#$"
MantiniumMan - 3/14/2014, 12:45 PM
HAH AH AH AHA HAAH AH AHA HAHAH AH AH HAHA HA HA H A
And I thought my jokes were bad!
DrDoom - 3/14/2014, 12:46 PM
I have faith in the writers and directors for Cap 3.

Just make sure these two are major players, and we're all good:

Nomis - 3/14/2014, 12:46 PM
@ MrBlackJack - Yeah, I don;t understand why EVERY CAPTAIN AMERICA movie isn't slated for 4th of July weekend!
MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:46 PM
@JordanKing- Oh it is, any movie come 2016 making less than 600 million

FLOP.

Especially Batman VS Superman, and most like Cap 2 if it makes over 600 million, which makes me believe it will.
ProfessorX - 3/14/2014, 12:46 PM
If the Winter Soldier is as good as everyone is saying it is, then this could be a real fight. I mean, people are saying it's on the same level as The Dark Knight... so the anticipation for a third movie could be HUGE.

Also, just because it's Batman and Superman doesn't guarantee the other movie winning. Man of Steel was predicted to reach a billion - but didn't get anywhere close to that, and the previous Batman films were only really successful starting with the second one (and all the publicity surrounding Heath's performance + tragic death).
MrSotoMan - 3/14/2014, 12:47 PM
Cap 3 should go for July 4th. I mean shit, the only thing there is Angry Birds, Tarzan & ID4, which may or may not come out.
FilmsFan - 3/14/2014, 12:47 PM
Except a few idiots here, nobody in the rest of the world is going to see Cap3 when they have SUPERMAN & BATMAN in one fvcking film opening same day!
They'll see it, but a franchise that barely does 200 million in US & 450-650 WorldWide (after Avengers steroid), can't hope to EARN a lot when BvS is happening!
Fanboying & supporting is fine! But let's get real for sec, sure WB have more to Lose but it's BATMAN VS SUPERMAN vs CAPTAIN AMERICA! Ya!
It's not even in the same league!
Marvel1997 - 3/14/2014, 12:48 PM
Have that many CBM's ever been scheduled to all release in the same damn month? May 2016- Xmen, Spiderman, Cap, Batman/Superman.. This site is going to be a mess.. They'll probably shut down CBM.com for a month lool
