Sebastian Stan: "Just Look At The Track Record Of Marvel Vs. DC…GREEN LANTERN"

Fighting talk! You've heard Anthony Mackie's humorous take on the whole Batman Vs. Superman Vs. Captain America 3 situation, but Sebastian "The Winter Soldier" Stan now reveals his take on the biggest box office battle of 2016, as do Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson...

"I mean, all you really have to know the answer to that question," Sebastian Stan said when asked who he thinks will triumph when Batman Vs. Superman goes head to head with Captain America 3, "is just look at the track record of Marvel Vs. DC...Green Lantern! [Laughs] You know, I'm biased! I dunno. I'm on this side. I'm with the brothers. If they want to do another film and I'll be part of it depending, I don't know really, then I'm game!" Chris Evans meanwhile seemed far more surprised by the news, adding: "Really? I didn’t even know that. Wow, really? Wait a minute, so you're saying we have to go against them? Well, that’s a shame." Samuel L. Jackson on the other hand, was a little more blunt. "You know, the bar’s going higher and higher and hopefully these guys can get up there on that bar. DC’s having some issues. DC’s having a little trouble with Marvel." What do you guys think? Be sure to stay tuned to CBM for more on this issue as it's likely that the cast and crew will once again be quizzed on Batman Vs. Superman Vs. Captain America 3 when the press tour continues overseas!

Sure, Marvel leads now, but so what really? I really hope they reboot GL and give him the film he so rightfully deserve!

Primordiac - 3/15/2014, 4:05 PM
Ridiculous to think Captain America could ever be more popular than a Batman and Superman movie.

Theres an Elektra and Ghost Rider for every Green Lantern out there Mr. Stan.
Bailkurn44 - 3/15/2014, 4:05 PM

We've all got our own prejudices and bias but I just want good CBMs whether its Marvel or even DC. But the pressure is on DC to make an incredible Superman/Batman film because if its anything less than sensational they have nothing else to fall back on. Personally,I have faith in WB to full it off.
LeroyJenkins - 3/15/2014, 4:10 PM
Someone tell Sebastian Stan how bad The Covenant was

DC has some catching up to do with their Cinematic Universe, but hey, even Marvel was able to successfully get people to move past Ang Lee's HULK.

The irony is that DC's biggest, most visible competition is its own popular and successful Dark Knight trilogy, which they did not have the foresight to connect to a larger universe.

Wow. Such maturity....
Ipitythefool - 3/15/2014, 4:13 PM
@Alexandre.. What's your point exactly? Marvel Studios didn't make Ghostrider. Sony and Columbia did.
Omarvls - 3/15/2014, 4:14 PM
BUT the Winter Soldier just put a smack down on
Green Lantern

But DC/WB is starting form MOS moving forward so it does not really count
Alexandre - 3/15/2014, 4:14 PM
A little bit of competition isn't always bad. I think this keeps the history of these comics alive. Its like the Yankees vs the Red Sox. It's fun and I think for the most part we know where the borderline is, at least I hope we do. So I say game on. Lets have fun, guys!
ManDeth - 3/15/2014, 4:14 PM
If it was just Cap 3 VS MOS 2 then it might be interesting. But Bruce and Clark and Diana and Lex is going to have people very curious about what it's going to look like. And Batfleck might suck but everyone will want to see that for themselves.

Avengers 2 Vs Batman and Superman would be a real battle.
Omarvls - 3/15/2014, 4:14 PM

Yeah I say Flame Wars are Boring

But that was funny
TheAmericanPatriot - 3/15/2014, 4:15 PM
Lol! Stan's awesome! He's right you know Marvel curbstomps DC. WB/DC knows that they only have Batman as their only cash cow. Heck, Space Jesus of Steel was so shitty that they're going to Batman in its sequel just to have him kick Supes ass! Lol! Out of all the DC characters the one that had the best chance to break out was GL but he flopped so horribly, that when WB/DC gets back around to the character the General Audience will see him as nothing but a Nova corp rip-off. WB knows that outside of Batman the rest of their DC characters won't sell. America...the world loves Marvel.
Scarilian - 3/15/2014, 4:15 PM
This is not a war - this is a mercy killing.

With 14 films Batman & Superman's franchise it has grossed; $5,399,182,317
With 8 films in the MCU franchise it has grossed; $5,659,019,460

So despite the Batman & Superman franchise having six more films - the MCU is still out-grossing them. Needless to say with Captain America 2, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Avengers AOE and Ant-Man before they even need to compete against Batman Vs Superman... the MCU have already won.

So best estimate;
Captain America 2 will gross a minimum of around $600,000,000
Guardians Of The Galaxy will gross a minimum of $300,000,000
Avengers AOE will gross a minimum of around $1,000,000,000
Ant-Man will gross a minimum of around $300,000,000

So before they even need to compete Marvel will have earned around 2bn. Marvel has won this war before DC even brings out Batman Vs Superman.
Battabing - 3/15/2014, 4:15 PM

Sebastian Stan never saw the Dark Knight Trilogy.

"Pride goeth before the fall."

Marvel's put out 8 moves and only 3 of them are actually good.
batcheeks8 - 3/15/2014, 4:15 PM
lol Sebastian Stan, can't stand his face
