SPIDER-MAN Producers Taking 'Carnage' Appearance In VENOM "Into Consideration"

Well, it appears that the mention of Cletus Kasady in that Daily Bugle viral may have meant something after all, as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad have now strongly hinted at an appearance from Carnage in the planned spin-off for Venom. Check it out!

"What a great idea," Avi Arad replied coyly when asked about the chances of Carnage making an appearance in Venom. It's interesting to watch his reaction, while Matt Tolmach's response was equally as vague but just as intriguing. "Exactly. The idea of Venom and Carnage… taking it into consideration. Watch out for this Venom movie. We are crazy excited." While that's not confirmation either way, it does sound as we should expect to see the insane Cletus Kasady make an appearance. After all, it's hard to think of a better foe for Eddie Brock...not including Spider-Man that is! What do you guys think? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts on this news below.

Consideration, just do it!
Pasto - 4/14/2014, 9:25 AM
I'm the Hugh Jackman of CBM.
Geotheleo - 4/14/2014, 9:30 AM
It's always weird seeing a post on IGN before CBM.. Usually I won't see things in IGN for like a day after I see it on cbm
Marvel1997 - 4/14/2014, 9:33 AM
This should be interesting. Please don't butcher these characters Sony :)
charlie2094 - 4/14/2014, 9:33 AM
Would love to see Carnage on screen, hopefully they can do him justice.

Definitely seems like something they've been talking about, wouldn't be surprised to see it happen
Doopie - 4/14/2014, 9:33 AM
yeah might be hard getting carnage into a PG-13. still it could work. i just hope they get venom right this time
JordanKing - 4/14/2014, 9:33 AM
Looking forward to this one, even if ASM2 looks to be a letdown and a Sinster Six movie without Spidey is pointless.
TheDarkPassenger - 4/14/2014, 9:38 AM
Good [frick]ing luck.
JoJo1982 - 4/14/2014, 9:38 AM
@doopie

If they can get the joker on movie screen

Then carnage shouldn't be no problem
Joementum - 4/14/2014, 9:46 AM
Got your Carnage right here
DrDoom - 4/14/2014, 9:46 AM
omg Avi Arad just stop existing

Why are they trying to run before they walk? Why are we hearing anything about Venom when Peter has not even donned the symbiote? We need this to come to life perfectly before we go jumping ahead to Venom and his spawn...

ProfessorX - 4/14/2014, 9:50 AM
So will Carnage be a sympathetic character? As we know, Arad and Tolmach don't believe in real villains.
Pasto - 4/14/2014, 9:51 AM

This is Sony we are dealing with. They love to run before they can walk.
Buu - 4/14/2014, 9:52 AM
Cool, I like Carnage.

Doopie - 4/14/2014, 9:52 AM
JoJo

that's a good point. what can be done in these PG-13 films has been pushed and pushed over the years. they could get it to work, let's hope so!
CaptainObvious - 4/14/2014, 9:53 AM
Carnage will probably end up being a character we're supposed to feel sorry for. Because there is no such thing as evil.
MercwithMouth - 4/14/2014, 9:58 AM
Great news. I've been wanting to see my favorite Cletus grace the screen for a long time.

Favorite fan cast - Jim Carrey
MrMartinMarvel - 4/14/2014, 9:58 AM
I hope we do see Carnage in a movie sooner or later. Say what you want about him as a character, but visually Carnage would look amazing on the big screen.
TheDarkPassenger - 4/14/2014, 9:58 AM
I'm sure it'll be a redemption story for both of them. Brock and Kasady trying to get rid of the symbiotes so they can live happily ever after.

I'm sure its a great opportunity for you Avi Arad, but [frick] you.
Tainted87 - 4/14/2014, 10:02 AM
I never got why Carnage was so appealing in the 90s. Well, at any given time, really. I think fans are in for a major disappointment.

@MrSidTheSlouth: I suppose you must change to MrSidTheSlouthDidNotMissPasto.
Comedian03 - 4/14/2014, 10:03 AM
I trilogy of Venom movies could be a redemption story and still work for the character.

And Sinister Six redemption story? Stupid.

I'm just not too sure how I'd like how they handle Venom and Carnage. I like the Spidey universe they have set up now, I'm just not crazy over how they've been handling their villains.
ThePowerCosmic - 4/14/2014, 10:17 AM
If they do this the number one question on this site will be:

"Where the hell was Spidey when all this was going on?"

The answer I always give:

"Somewhere else."
Arrow96 - 4/14/2014, 10:22 AM
Directed by Alex Kurtzman? What? I think I've heard Drew Goddard's name mentioned.......but Kurtzman? Cmon...
27ShowStopper - 4/14/2014, 10:24 AM
If we got Heath Ledgers Joker in a PG13 movie, Carnage could work too.
MrSotoMan - 4/14/2014, 10:24 AM
Well their answer should of been put rather simply than very vague and coy, no shit would of sufficed.
JoJo1982 - 4/14/2014, 10:24 AM
@doopie

Yeah let's hope it happens

Carnage would be a amazing visual character in live action

And yeah PG13 has been getting away with a lot these days

@kamen

Just watch amazing spiderman 2, you'll see ;)
ProfessorX - 4/14/2014, 10:38 AM
Look at all the villains Arad has written in this franchise and see if you notice anything:

Green Goblin - Has distant relationship with son. Loses military contract and gets removed from Oscorp by the board of directors. Feels he has no choice but to try experimental formula on himself. Develops schizophrenia post-serum and "Goblin" persona separate to who he really is.
Doctor Octopus - Has plan for sustainable energy to help the world. Wife dies in explosion he caused. Tentacles bonded to his spine develop artificial intelligence and control him. Ultimately sacrifices himself to save the city.
New Goblin - Distant relationship with father. Father killed (he thinks) by Spider-Man, who is also his best friend. Girlfriend stolen by same best friend. Ultimately sacrifices himself to save Peter.
Sandman - Stole money to pay for treatment for sick daughter. Escapes from prison to see daughter; accidentally falls into particle accelerator. It's revealed he killed Uncle Ben, but the gun went off by accident. He asks Spider-Man for forgiveness at the end.
Venom - Loses job because of Peter. Has his camera smashed by Symbiote Spider-Man. Goes to church and gets infected with the Symbiote.
-
Lizard - Working on cell regeneration to try and help amputees like himself. Gets fired from Oscorp. Injects himself with experimental serum. Goes mad. Surrenders after killing Captain Stacy. Gets put in Psychiatric Hospital.
Electro - Alienated by the world and his co-workers. Idolizes Spider-Man. Accidentally gets transformed into an electric-powered being. Reveals himself in Time Square and gets ridiculed by Spider-Man and shot at by the police.
RHINO - ?
Green Goblin - Father dies. Left with the responsibility of Oscorp. ?

if they release it I will watch it.
GL - 4/14/2014, 11:00 AM
Most likely a Carnage teaser at the end
CorndogBurglar - 4/14/2014, 11:10 AM
@ Professor X

Yeah, they're all presented as justifiable, sympathetic villains. No one is just an asshole for asshole's sake.

ATrueHero1987 - 4/14/2014, 11:12 AM
In other Spider-Man news, here is the Official music video from Alicia Keys ft. Kendrick Lamar from the TASM2 Soundtrack "It's On Again"
KamenRiderJ - 4/14/2014, 11:30 AM
Lawd Alicia Keys is beautiful, but why on god's green earth would she shave the side of her head?! She has beautiful hair...why butcher it like that?!

Stupid hipster styles...

wow, it's really comforting to have Pasto back from the netherworld.
bravo, good Pasto.

every hero must face the sickly, wretched, insane and senseless God in his own domain. over there in hell. And once the truth is known about God, well you can only cut off his head. and walk on no road, the way of the Nephi. and you will never find Heaven. but you will try and that's all that matters.

just ask Luke... we all need our time in hell.
or even better ask weird olde Danzig about his left hand.
if you can ever get him to shut up about it, that is.
TheAmazingSlade - 4/14/2014, 11:39 AM
I'll say cast Jim Carrey as Carnage.
sKeemAn - 4/14/2014, 11:45 AM
A Venom movie desperatley needs to be rated 'R'. Venom is already a killer. How will they make Carnage feel like a psychotic, when there is already a killer in Venom. The stakes need to be higher.
