In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Chris Cooper, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, and Chris Zylka, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in the UK on 18th April and in the US on May 2nd.

It's about time. I feel like they haven't been promoting this movie very much.

The score was shit, the villains were shit, and the German/Russian accents were shit. We have seen all of the Rhino in the trailers, and the "Green Goblin" was obviously shoehorned into this movie. Why did Electro have to be another sympathetic bad guy? What was the point of having Alistair Smythe and Felicia Hardy in the movie? How the hell is Aunt May still oblivious to the fact that Peter is Spider-Man?

The movie overall wasn't good. One too many subplots and forced storylines. There was no balance in this movie. Electro was pretty much shoehorned into this movie. Rhino was forgettable.

-superman 4
-superman returns

-x-men origins wolverine
-x-men 3
-daredevil

Yeah it wasn't complete shit but it wasn't very good either. The score when Electro is in Times Square is laughable ("They shot at me, they lied to me..."), as is his motivation. This movie seems like the result of one of those "too many chefs in the kitchen" scenarios that plague tentpole films. The best part of the movie was the third act. ALSO this movie suffers from Dark Knight Rises syndrome where Spiderman is absent for a lot of the film.

I'm usually in the majority to hate a film so much, but I am sorry, we all have different tastes and I enjoyed this movie, I'm seeing it again so maybe I can take my mind away from the enjoyment and be a little critical about it, cant we just be glad we live in an era or constant superhero films, I mean these [frick]ers are taking over, there is super hero stuff [frick]ing every where in my town now, few years back there wasnt sod all, its giving birth to thousands more little comic book lovers and I respect any film that does that, little kids will love this films and you just got to enjoy it for what it is

Honestly, I would compare it to Spider-Man 3 due to the forced subplots and villains.

"He's an amazing villain."

Pun intended, Andrew? Well, he certainly looked amazing. Just a pity he was so goofy otherwise.

I still think it's better than WS. Character development for Spidey and Gwen is all there. This movie was just a setup for things to come which I did find cool and different.

Apparently it's comparable to Iron Man 2.

I only real gripe I had with the movie is the music. Was pretty bad. Kids will like this movie. Glad they some what clered up things about the parents though all of that could have been done in the first flick and would have had more room to do what they wanted in this one. Dehaan was great as Harry. Better than Franco and we better get a lot of drama between him and Parker after the way they ended that fight. This movie is somewhat of a mess but I laughed out loud at some parts and the movements for spidey and the way he's portrayed physically is what I think fans of spidey have always wanted.

Electro singing Itsy Bitsy Spider was one of the worst things I've ever seen in a CBM.

Still though, I think the movie is getting a bit too much abuse. I hated the first one and I still think the reboot is pointless, but it's a fun movie to watch and the lead actors are very good.

People on this site need to learn the meaning of a LOT of words, "shoehorned" being one of them. You know when you're reading a comic and Spidey is fighting a lower league villain at the start for only a few panels, that has nothing to do with the rest of the story but still shows him going about his daily superheroic life?

THAT WAS WHAT RHINO WAS FOR IN THIS. He's not MEANT to be one of the main villains at all (never mind what the marketing people do, they always have different intentions than the film makers)

Yes Goblin's suiting up was quick, but Harry had been pretty well developed throughout the film, so it was only the Goblin element that felt rushed.

"What was the point of having Alistair Smythe and Felicia Hardy Hardy in the movie" you colossal idiot, what did you want, Spider slayers and Black Cat TOO? No, they put them in there as smaller roles to set up future movies. They could have just as easily been throwaway characters but no, Webb decided to put these characters in for potential in the future.

I swear, this film has genuine flaws i'll grant you, but it's still a great, fun film. Most of the other flaws people come up with are the stupidest, most nitpicky shite I've ever seen.

@JaySin420 What??? I thought that was ingenious as well as the ring tone.
SeanMPC
SeanMPC - 4/22/2014, 3:28 PM
@JaySin420 he didn't sing it though? The tones played as he hit the generators (I found this funny and a pretty cool idea, as those notes are worked into the entire score and play very well when done villainously. Also that was, what, 5 or 6 seconds of the final battle? HOW does that irritate people so much?)

@TheSonicScrew. Right? It was awesome and the sound made by the electricity was very Starwaresque (those space mines) and cool.

Goblin sang Itsy Bitsy Spider in the first film. Why does no one remember that. Yet they bash this movie for having it.
