According to The Hollywood Reporter, Captain America: The Winter Soldier's current domestic total of $224.9 million makes it the top grossing April release of all-time in North America, beating 2011's Fast Five. This is significant because analysts predicted that the Marvel Studios would NOT surprass the record held by the fifth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise. Meanwhile, with a worldwide total of $645.2 million, the movie has beaten Thor: The Dark World ($645.2 million vs. $644.8 million) to become the third biggest Marvel Studios movie ever. It has also been reported today that it WILL surpass $700 million. Domestically, it still has some way to go before topping Iron Man 2's $312 million to tae fourth place.
