It's a pretty impressive cast, I have to admit. I'm excited to see who Serkis plays.

Is that definitely Anthony Daniels in the photo? I thought it might be Max Von Sydow.

Feeling good for Hamill. He's had to wait 30 years for this, and he's been nothing but a good soldier for the SW brand during that period. True, he's kinda had to in order to pay the bills, but here's hoping he finally gets the set-for-life $$ he deserves for having carried three of the biggest movies of all time. Those contract negotiations must've been interesting, since it's hard to say which side needed the other more.

HAMILL: Good luck making Ep 7 without Luke! Time to back up the Brinks Truck!
DISNEY: Fine, have fun signing autographs at the Hayseed County State Fair next weekend, and every weekend thereafter!

Very curious to hear what his salary ended up being...!

The prequels were lousy, except for the last one.... What's happening NOW is what fans were waiting for since RETURN OF THE JEDI. Props to Disney and JJ Abrams for making it happen.

I remember after seeing the Empire Strikes Back all those years ago friends and I discussing, speculating and daydreaming about the original cast returning decades to reprise their roles. Got to the point where I thought it would NEVER happen. Especially Harrison Ford. And after the prequels I really did not care anyway. Actually I stopped caring after seeing Return of the Jedi. But wow! This is happening! Never really was a huge SW fan (I'm a Trekkie) but I'm excited about this.

@BlanketMan I don't think Hamill's hurting for money, and even if he was he's got a warehouse full of literally every single Star Wars toy ever made in mint condition. I can't wait to see what that garage sale looks like, lol.

@fedup: I'm sure Hamill is doing OK - his voice work has provided regular employment over the years - but there's "not hurting for money" and there's "$5-to-20 mil/movie" money like Ford has commanded over the years. I hope Hamill makes at least a couple million for each of these sequels. Like I said, though, hard to imagine how those negotiations must've gone!

Well played sir.

But on a serious note, I hope Hamill gets a good paycheck. The guys been working non stop and he deserves it. Also, since 1992 any batman comic I read has his voice playing in my head whenever I read the jokers lines. As far as I'm concerned I consider him iconic. Glad to see him back.

I really hope they give Mark Hamill a big part in the new trilogy. I can see him as a Jedi master with a beard guiding the new Jedi lead actor like Obi-Won guided him.

I hope Hamill's old Luke character still has qualities of the younger Luke and is not completely transformed into a completely stoic character like the Jedi masters from the prequels. He shouldn't act completely like the younger Luke because 30 years have passed, but I hope they find a happy middle.

lets all hope the original cast got in shape for that big sex scene.

I can't get excited about this. I loved the original movies when i was a kid, but as an adult they just don't have the same impact they used to have. In fact some aspects of the original trilogy are actually pretty bad. In parts the acting and dialogue can be awful, and the story makes little to no sense in places. In all the years since it first came out, i have NEVER been able to understand why Kenobi just stood there like a douche in the least exciting sword fight ever, and let Vadar kill him. He did nothing, NOTHING, as a 'force ghost' to help Luke that he couldn't have done while still alive. Hell, he could have whispered the wise old sage advice in his ear, while, you know, at the same time actually physically helping him out with the whole empire/Vadar thing. So completely and utterly daft...just like the 'shoot missle here' exhaust duct or whatever the hell it was on the Death Star...people look at Star Wars through rose tinted specs as it reminds them of the good times of their childhood, but if you look at it objectively, while still ok, it is nowhere near the giant classic of cinema that it is made out to be. Hell, half the DC animated movied have more coherent plots...
