These are great Sagemode! Superman is horribly powerful. He has done to many amazing feats to be counted. A lot will go unoticed. He is the greatest superhero of all time. And arguably the most powerful and good.
crimsoncrusader - 11/9/2011, 2:01 PM
This is awesome. I spent 20+ minutes going through all this. I knew he was powerful, just not THAT powerful. Very interesting. Thank you Sage Mode!
marvel72 - 11/9/2011, 2:19 PM
so nothing special then........ :P
Dumegg - 11/9/2011, 2:32 PM
awesome stuff, it really shows why Sups is the
most iconic supehero ever
Berger45 - 11/9/2011, 2:57 PM
Great stuff @Sagemode. I really wanna see the greatest feats of the greatest Green Lantern of all time, the most powerful and fascinating: Hal Jordan.

Hal Jordan, Bats(I dont think you've done him yet) or Gladiator.
BlueMex - 11/9/2011, 4:33 PM
nicely done ! wheres that from , where superman tells batman , throw another punch and your hand gets broken? i thought i knew all Jim Lee's Batman art
SkaarJones - 11/9/2011, 9:30 PM
Superman is that guy. He is on the power level King Hyperion hopes to aspires to after killing Hulk/Thor/Sentry/etc.
Misterfan - 11/9/2011, 9:35 PM

DioFoRio - 11/9/2011, 10:18 PM
11. was able to wear his red underwear on the outside of his pants for close to 70 yrs without anyone ever talking shit about it or he'd F em up
JimboRed - 11/9/2011, 10:30 PM
This should be called "why Superman is a crappy character." He's so powerful there is no way he can ever be threatened by anything. Ever.
batmitedimension - 11/9/2011, 10:58 PM
That's one mighty list! Good job!!
DarthTesla - 11/9/2011, 11:40 PM
Excellent list.

Some classic moments there.
tracydavis001 - 11/10/2011, 12:19 AM
Great list !!!!!
DPeterParker - 11/10/2011, 12:35 AM
do batman!
Berger45 - 11/10/2011, 1:29 AM
@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY - Pussy Hal Jordan? That's the most contradicting thing I've heard when it comes to comicbooks.

- I know that was Parallax but still, before they retconned it, it was actually Hal Jordan, and it turned out even worse for Superman while Ganthet was there.

Superman is power incarnate. No questions about that. Hal Jordan is however just the toughest guy there is. Of all the Green Lanterns, he is the one who has the most powerful and focused constructs. He gone against some really, really bad odd. Even been corrupted, sent to purgatory, been the host of Spectre but he has stood victorious. Not even Superman can make that claim.
In other words: Hal Jordan is the penis.
MisterJay - 11/10/2011, 3:00 AM
lame....
this prove that superman is the less original hero ever!! even his name is lame....-.-'' like ..really? super-man? ... cant think anything better?..... i mean guys if the guy has all the frickin powers...i mean whats the point... thats not exiting... theres never a real challenge.... i like dc comics i really do....but lets face it superman is an example of lack of imagination....
superman7 - 11/10/2011, 3:39 AM
@ Joker13:

I wouldn't say that he's lame or can't be challenged. not at all. I'd just say that he's the failsafe for the REALLY REALLY bad ass villains, like Darkseid, Doomsday, Imperiex, ect.

And almost all of the names in comicbooks are lame when you think about it. If you heard some dude walking around calling himself "Batman", you'd laugh your ass off.
Captain America
Power-man
Mr. Marvel
Mr. Fantastic
Batman
wonder woman
Baron Von Doom

I think that's enough cliche's to suffice that most comicbook names are pretty cheesy.

And if you read the Superman comics, they find really good ways to challenge him. 100 minute war, all of those things.

If you dont read superman I can see how'd you come to that though. But I think the purpose is to show that he's overcome aLOT.

@ Sage Mode aka Killer Bee

Dude this article is AWESOME! I seriously love it! Nice work.
comiccow6 - 11/10/2011, 4:01 AM
Love these articles! Do one on Spidey or Green Goblin!
rbfn04 - 11/10/2011, 4:30 AM
1 - Superman rocks!!!

2 - I hate Ed McGuiness'sart

2 - @Berger forgive Superguy. He needs to make DCnU Superangstyman better than Superman.
VictorHugo - 11/10/2011, 4:38 AM
Wow, i´ve read most of these :)
BackwardGalaxy - 11/10/2011, 5:22 AM
But he's not powerful enough to spell check other's articles.
MassExecutions - 11/10/2011, 6:34 AM
Oh wow. These two are definitely my favorite.

Catches a magic beam.
Can see Superboy's soul.

What the hell?

Yes, this is why its hard to write a good superman story. How do you challenge somebody like that?
ComicBookGoth - 11/10/2011, 6:42 AM
@Pacman

Sh*t Happens

but bottom line
Fastestmanalive - 11/10/2011, 8:31 AM
Awesome stuff, Superman is perfect for an article like this.

I love how people say "Superman is too powerfull, how can u write a story for him" LOL, yea thats why he has 73 years of comic books, hundreds of episodes of tv shows, not to mention newspaper daily strips, movies, books, and even radio, becuz its so hard to come up with stories for him, LOL.

Superman has the most comics and stories to his name then any other character in comics, except for maybe Batman comes close.
Shadowelfz - 11/10/2011, 8:33 AM
These things represent everything thats wrong with Superman. I love sups, have since I was a kid but he is WAAAAY too overpowered. Black hole in the hand? See peoples souls and atomic strutctures? Brush of supernovas? What the hell is supossed to give him a challenge when hes that powerful? Nothing does so writers keep on inventing more and more powers because they dont know what else to do with him.

I like Superman being superman with the occasional epic moment as he rises to the occasion, not just comeing up with new powers to deal with whatever happenes to be happening. Overpowering has made him become boring so thank god the new 52 bringing him down to Earth a bit, so to speak.
Shadowelfz - 11/10/2011, 8:37 AM
Fastest- Hes the first real superhero so of course he has the most comics about him. And all those stories tend to just show him muscle his way through whatever situation by inventing new powers or making him ridiculously more powerful than before.

If you like your peerless god who can defeat everything without a thought than thats fine. I like a Superman who'se actually challanged by things.
RAZE - 11/10/2011, 8:46 AM

Little something I drew for all u Superman fans, enjoy ;)
Fastestmanalive - 11/10/2011, 9:39 AM
@Shadowelfz
I agree with u, I wasent too keen on the Superman from the 70s either with all his weird powers, super sneeze, super vision, ect. But that was a different era, comics were more for kids and just had fantastic crazy adventures, just look at batman, he dident have any powers and he had these crazy gadgets and weird costumes that could do even weirder stuff.

Im talkin about Superman mainly post crisis starting with John Byrnes. thats my Superman. Thats why I know most people love it but I hated Superman All star, way too ridiculous and corney for me.

But its still fun to see him do fantastic feats with his "normal" powers, super streagnth, invincibility and super speed, he is the most powerful hero aftr all.
JackBauer - 11/10/2011, 9:41 AM
@sage - A little long with some repetition, but good job overall.

@ComicBookGoth - That gif is hilarious :)
Chupathingy66 - 11/10/2011, 10:14 AM
When he was the ridiculous blue energy Superman he pulled the moon back into orbit by himself while two demons were magically were trying to pull it down. Stupid yes, but it's another example of his strength. And then afterwards he went down and fought an angel
Chupathingy66 - 11/10/2011, 10:16 AM
I also like that everybody is complaining about how Superman is too powerful and probably 90% of them still argue that Thor can beat him
MoonDoggyX - 11/10/2011, 11:00 AM
Superman is NOT overpowered. And he is one of the most interesting characters in comics. The problem is that the iconic legendary Superman that everyone is familiar with is the end of the story. That's what DCnU and Smallville(to a point) got correct. He(andBatman) is the most iconic, legendary and recognizable character ever. They can't just say he's not THAT powerful anymore, but they can say that he's not that powerful yet! That's where the best Superman stories stem from. When he's flying between galaxies and pushing planets and they show him fighting Lex lLuther and bank robbers, that's when its uninteresting.
JorLBola - 11/10/2011, 11:06 AM
Tha's why he has such a reputation,"the most iconic superhero"
Hopefully they use something so impressive in the movie
MoonDoggyX - 11/10/2011, 11:13 AM
@Chupathingy66 - "I also like that everybody is complaining about how Superman is too powerful and probably 90% of them still argue that Thor can beat him" HAHA Exactly!

The best thing about "Superhero Feats" is that it gives us a good measuring stick. I'm sure a tanker in Marvel weighs just as much as it does in DC and supes is flying and carrying it with on hand effortlessly. And that's the least impressive display of his strength in this article. Does Thor, Silver Surfer or even Hulk have any similar feats of strength...?
SageMode - 11/10/2011, 11:56 AM
@MoonDoggx:
" Does Thor, Silver Surfer or even Hulk have any similar feats of strength...?"
SUPERHERO FEATS: Thor
ThaMessenger07 - 11/10/2011, 1:59 PM
He has ridiculous powers but he still falls short to a lot of cosmic characters.

Sage do Surfer, Adam Warlock, Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, Captain Atom, Spawn, Ion, Darkseid, Hulk, etc.... any of these will show some serious power...
Shadowelfz - 11/10/2011, 6:56 PM
Fastest- I cant agree with you more about the 70's/ All-Star Superman. As a wee little one I started reading comics with Man of Steel Superman who was down-powered and absolutely loved him. Had all the toys and whatnot. Over the years they just kept on heaping more and more powers on him, and those awesome epic things he only did when he was pushed to the absolute limit became more and more common... and I just stopped reading then. Thankfully, with this new 52 thing they puts Sups back to where I enjoy reading him... Badass but still capable of getting his butt kicked until he, inevitably, rises to the occasion. It's fantastic. And I do like John Byrnes take with him too :)

Mr.Ecko- Exactly! I hope the new 52 keeps the good roll. If they start overpowering him to ridiculous levels again I'm going to stop reading again...
0zymandias - 11/11/2011, 2:27 AM
The greatest superhero of all time, hands down. Also one of the most powerful without doubt. Few can defeat this essence of alturism, this being of pure goodness. He and Captain America are the only two who are beyond corruption, beyond human weakness. They are ideals which makes them greater than any other superhero, be him god or a force of nature. Superman = nr 1.
MoonDoggyX - 11/11/2011, 4:00 AM
@sagemode - thanks! That was another awesome article. Although it kinda reminded me why I stopped reading comics for a while when I got older..inconsistency of the characters and their abilities! And that's pointed at DC and Marvel... Its all about money and popularity. I understand that its also due to different creators over the years and at this point its 70+ years for DC and 40+ years for marvel...
