Pretty cool. Time travel hurts my head.

I'm spoiling DoFP for myself but I don't care. The plot doesn't make the movie for me unless it's convoluted and doesn't go anywhere.

Aww so the wolverine never happened?
I liked that one.

Pretty cool. But why does it list timelines with Mystique killing Trask at both the summit and the White House? I thought there were only two timelines, one where she kills him at the summit & one where she doesn't. It also lists The Last Stand as being released in 2003. Somewhat unrelatedly, if Apocalypse takes place in the 80s, McAvoy's gonna have to go bald right? We've seen Stewart as Xavier in the 80s bald. Surely changing the timeline wouldn't save his hair?! :P

@NovaCorpsFan Do yourself a favor & just see the movie. It's excellent.

The last 30 minutes are so intense, emotional, & so balanced with drama & action it's crazy.
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:43 AM
I'm so pumped for Apocalypse:

1. It's basically confirmed Scott, Jean, & Storm will have prominent roles with Logan telling Xavier to recruit them.

2. I wonder where we'll find Magneto & how he fits.

3. I can't wait to see where we find Logan & Mystique next.

X-Men 1 still must have happened since we see a Rogue with her trademark white hair that she got after the events in the movie.
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:47 AM
The only thing canon is everything before the events of DOFP (First Class, first 5 min of Origins), & after it (Apocalypse) I think.

Awesome! Very brief and makes total sense!

What if Zac Efron is playing young scott? I mean he'll be a teen right?

MrCBM

I do plan on seeing it. Not trying to knock it or anything I'm just saying, I constantly spoil movies for myself and I don't see it as a big deal.
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:50 AM
I'm still in shock of how great DOFP Is. For real. It's still in the 90's on RT to. Singer, Fox, the cast/crew, I tip my hat to you. Great job.

MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:52 AM
@charlie2094 Agreed.

@Charlie

That's what I get out of it. First Class is really the only film that isn't compromised in any way. I'm totally cool with that too. It's simpler to process lol.

I'm very disappointed, yet happy that the events of X-Men 1,2 and 3, along with both Wolverines have been erased. There is now 50 years of the X-Men timeline that has been erased, which is a lot of blank canvas for more movies.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/24/2014, 6:53 AM
Oh and I love how the movie is setting up the next wolverine movie too. What's so great about this movie, other than it's story, is how the film managed to fix everything and set everything back on track AND be a GREAT/ EXCELLENT movie at the same time. That is an incredible feat to accomplish.
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:54 AM
Also, the deaths in this movie are BRUTAL. Colossus death...WOW! He was just ripped apart.

But when Storm died, not gonna lie, stabbed me right in the feels.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/24/2014, 6:54 AM
Yea so they pretty much rebooted the whole franchise
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:55 AM
The last dialogue between Xavier & Charles (Future) was pretty emotional too.

"All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles"

CaptainAmerica31 - 5/24/2014, 6:55 AM
@MrCBM not gonna lie, I was happy when she died. I thought that maybe she would be recasted as someone else lol
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:55 AM
It's like, the original trilogy is canon...but it's not. It happened... But it didn't.
fastflames
fastflames - 5/24/2014, 6:56 AM
@MrCBM56 yeah I think you're right, everything that happened after 1973 was completely erased from the time line and is being rebooted from that point on.
ShadowFan
ShadowFan - 5/24/2014, 6:57 AM
Just mentally "reboot", it makes things easier to understand...lol ;-)
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 6:57 AM
Also, I love how the film so subtle acknowledged the Colossus & Kitty relationship with them teaching a class together.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/24/2014, 6:58 AM
Yea the ending to this movie was brutal to watch. So emotional, I haven't seen a ending that emotional in a CBM in a long ass time. When the Erik said " all those years wasted fighting each other" was so touching, and then they shook hands I was so sad.( I don't cry in movies) but like TASM2 I was close. Such a great film, I need to watch it again.
fastflames
fastflames - 5/24/2014, 6:58 AM
The original trilogy is still cannon in that it leads to the events at the beginning of DOGP which leads to rebooting the timeline, and Wolverine (and to some extent Charles) still remember it so yes, it is still cannon, but is running parallel to what were getting now erasing it from the timeline.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/24/2014, 6:59 AM
Oh and I bet the new X-men films are going to start with Charles telling Logan what happened. Cause he has a lot of " catching up to do".
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 5/24/2014, 7:03 AM
@CaptainAmerica

Zac Efron is with Marvel/Disney, not FOX.
MrCBM56
MrCBM56 - 5/24/2014, 7:03 AM
@CaptainAmerica31 AGREED! But I loved how he woke up in the new timeline, he tried to touch Jean but Scott stopped him. "Some things never change" haha love that part.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 5/24/2014, 7:04 AM
It would be cool if we had movies with the original cast while having movies with the younger cast also.
CherryBomb
CherryBomb - 5/24/2014, 7:05 AM
Jean Grey looked so so so so so beautiful in that scene!
I was like "wow she has not aged". I loved her hair.
