20 Things We Didn't See In X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

A few days ago, we got word that an extended cut for Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past was in the works. Now, new details have surfaced revealing more information about more than a few scenes from the original screenplay that were left out of the final cut! Check it out!

X-Men Days of Future Past was arguably the best CBM of the year. Bryan Singer delivered a near masterpiece with a tight-knit story, brutal action sequences, and a plethora of powerful performances. Despite all of the awesome stuff we witnessed on the big screen, there was a lot of great material that was left out including the now famous Rogue rescue sequence.

Yesterday, AnthonyXMF over at x-menfilms.com revealed a few details about a few scenes we did not get to see in the final cut of the film. The scenes were either left off the final shooting script or just cut, like the Rogue scene and the scene where Wolverine, Xavier, & Beast interrogate Mystique. Some of the information below has been seen before, but there is quite a bit of new information as well revealing new deaths, motives, and more. Check it out for yourself below!

1. Storm flies the X-Jet while Xavier uses his on-board mobile version of Cerebro to search for Kitty and Bobby.

2. When the future X-Men arrive to greet Kitty and Bobby, they encounter a new group of mutants which includes Blink (pictured above). Magneto uses his powers to threaten this group with nearby metal weapons, which leads to Blink holding her weapon to Magneto’s throat.

3. Bishop is the only one to really question the effects of changing the past. He expresses concern of their current history being negatively impacted, saying that some of them may not even exist in the altered timeline. Bishop warns Logan that he’ll carry the burden of retaining his memories when he wakes up in the new timeline. Logan easily shrugs it off.

4. When Mystique is helping the mutant army recruits escape the base in Saigon, Havok is hit with a taser and captured by Trask and Stryker’s people. Later in his own sequence, Havok is seen running from a Sentinel during a weapons test. Mystique later finds out that he died via an autopsy report.

5. While imprisoned under The Pentagon, a thick bearded Erik taunts a guard who ate some fish earlier. He tells the guard that he senses trace amounts of iron from the meal and makes his stomach rumble uncontrollably.

6. Charles, Beast and Logan recruit an 18 year old Juggernaut to break Erik out of prison. Diving from the X-jet, Juggernaut plows through the multiple ground levels. Logan jumps in directly after him and breaks all of his bones on impact.

7. Raven goes to the X-mansion to confront Charles, Beast and Logan about why Magneto is trying to kill her. In a later scene reminiscing a “First Class” moment, Hank tells Raven that she can take his serum to get rid of her mutation. She disagrees and tells Hank that maybe they could be together if he would accept their mutation.

8. Mutants around the world are being rounded up after the Mystique, Magneto and Beast are caught on camera.

9. Rogue goes airborne when Magneto grabs hold of her and levitates them out of the X-mansion.

10. Raven chooses a different path and decides to join Charles and Hank. Magneto says the government will eventually find them and attack. Charles reiterates a slightly modified line from the original trilogy, saying: “I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul who comes to that house looking for trouble.”

11. Jubilee was meant to appear as part of the future mutant team in a limited role. She has action pieces similar to Sunspot in the first act, though she dies in the third by being blasted off the wall.

12. Before Quicksilver’s epic scene, there was Juggernaut. He’s written as an 18 year old football player, a former student of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

13. Future Xavier helps his past self to look into his own mind, sharing a kind memory between himself and Raven as kids, playing in the garden.

14. Iceman suggests to Professor Xavier and Magneto that they rescue Rogue from a militarized-Xavier mansion, guarded by Sentinels. Xavier believes she’s dead because he hasn’t been able to reach her mind, but Bobby believes it’s because she’s inside Cerebro, being experimented on in a location where Xavier’s mind can’t pierce.

15. Storm watches after Kitty and Logan once Xavier, Magneto and Iceman leave to find Rogue. Both Storm…and especially Bishop have lots more dialogue in the screenplay, when compared to the final film.

16. Mystique doesn’t want to be found, so, disguised as Charles, she breaks into Cerebro and destroys its mainframe and helmet.

17. Rogue’s quick scene with Bobby at the end remains the same, though it’s questioned if she should have her white hair stripe or not.

18. An older Beast and Mystique are seen teaching a Biology class in the altered future timeline.

19. Kitty and Colossus are seen walking and holding hands in the altered future timeline, hinting at their relationship in the comics.

20. The original end credits had Apocalypse falling out of the night’s sky and combining himself with Erik.

The reliability of this information is probably safe to question, but a lot of what has been revealed above does fit with what we've heard from several other sources. Hopefully, we'll be able to see for ourselves what was cut and what was not soon enough in the extended director's cut.

Exciting stuff nonetheless, sound off with your thoughts below!

All I want is a scene explaining why Kitty was able to send peoples' consciousness back in time!
yossarian - 7/10/2014, 9:04 AM
We for sure saw #1. So I stopped reading there.

I liked the movie. I have a few questions about it but it was good.

I would also like to point out that if MS made a time-travel movie negating all previous work...there are a bunch of people here who love DOFP but would be outraged at MS.
Pasto - 7/10/2014, 9:05 AM
Anyone who read the old DOFP script would've known about this.
Doopie - 7/10/2014, 9:05 AM
What we didn't see - The real X-Men.

There now all the haters don't have to bother

awesome film
TheHero - 7/10/2014, 9:05 AM
Yeah, most of this was in the script I read.
Phronesis - 7/10/2014, 9:06 AM

knocturnalzen10 - 7/10/2014, 9:09 AM

Phronesis - 7/10/2014, 9:10 AM
"Kitty and Colossus are seen walking and holding hands in the altered future timeline, hinting at their relationship in the comics."

Should've kept that.
DarthSandwich - 7/10/2014, 9:10 AM
That Rouge scene would explain how sentinels can suck the power out of Mutants, Mystique thing doesn't make sense cause she doesn't have that ability. Still awesome movie though.
shabat - 7/10/2014, 9:11 AM
@whysoserious

It's beautiful.

As far as the best comic book movie of the year, I think I have to go with Cap 2 in that regard.
pesmerga44 - 7/10/2014, 9:11 AM
Most of those ideas just sound bad or they ruin the pace of the movie and I am glad all of this, besides 1 which did happen, were not in the movie.
pesmerga44 - 7/10/2014, 9:12 AM
@Phronesis

Ya sorry you are right the scene with Kitty and Colossus holding hands should have been kept.
ManofSteel23 - 7/10/2014, 9:16 AM
so the last eric and apocalpse scene was true, there was a thing a while back explaing that eric was in a field or something and apocalpse merges with him or something
alibaba3317 - 7/10/2014, 9:18 AM
6. Charles, Beast and Logan recruit an 18 year old Juggernaut to break Erik out of prison. Diving from the X-jet, Juggernaut plows through the multiple ground levels. Logan jumps in directly after him and breaks all of his bones on impact.

LOL
shabat - 7/10/2014, 9:19 AM
I'm glad the Juggernaut thing didn't happen.
TheSavorings - 7/10/2014, 9:21 AM
This movie was already too long and opened enough new plot holes on its own, why extend it and add even more confusing stuff. Cmon, FOX. Pass the sticks you guys have been camping X-Men and FF for far too long.
mcminnjb1990 - 7/10/2014, 9:23 AM
I wanna know a release date on the directors cut
gambgel - 7/10/2014, 9:25 AM
me too. It was about time Quicksilver got introduced in this series.
Now lets hope for Wanda in the sequel
SuperCat - 7/10/2014, 9:25 AM
More Wolverine and Batman!

ComicsBornAndBred - 7/10/2014, 9:25 AM
Juggernaut scene sounds cool but I'm happier with QS. Def didn't want Apocalypse merging with Magneto
Gusto - 7/10/2014, 9:27 AM
Sweet Jesus!
whyso...

21. What happened to riptide from first class?
yossarian - 7/10/2014, 9:32 AM
22. How is Charles alive?
Prophet11 - 7/10/2014, 9:37 AM
Best CMB of the year??? Lol try the winter soldier or guardians which will probably way better than dofp....dofp was good but not best
BANEofExistence - 7/10/2014, 9:39 AM
Juggernaut scene sounded pretty cool and if I would have read that before seeing the film I would have wanted to see it, after seeing DOFP with Quicksilver, they made the change for the better! Good thing the "after credit merging scene" was cut and they don't go that route with Apocalypse...Id like to see Apocalypse with Mister Sinister and his four horsemen ( Gambit? Wolverine? Dark Beast? Archangel?) leading to an X-Men and Brotherhood team up

Professor X
Magneto (Basically leads on battlefield)
Mystique
Quicksilver
Toad
Havok
Cyclops
Storm
Jean
Wolverine (If he isn't a Horseman)
Beast (If he isn't a Horseman)
Gambit (If he isn't a Horseman)
Nightcrawler
UlisesMX - 7/10/2014, 9:49 AM
I'm glad they went with the QuickSilver option instead of the Juggernaut... Bitch!
Phronesis - 7/10/2014, 9:50 AM
23. How does a wolverine have adamantium claws?
TheCaptain03 - 7/10/2014, 9:52 AM
@yossarian

the reason that the professor is still alive because he had a twin brother that was brain dead so he took over the body when he died. its the after credit scene in x3
thewonderer - 7/10/2014, 9:53 AM
Winter Soldier is not that great. Especially compared to DOFP. Also, the Kitty and Colossus relationship is heavily hinted at in the end considering they are teaching the same class together in the new timeline.
Dmon - 7/10/2014, 9:53 AM
I didn't anything from this movie because I don't pay to see anything from Fox-Men movies. Heck I still have not seen The Wolverine yet though I did seed a pirated copy of it for a month LOL
HachibiTheMC - 7/10/2014, 9:57 AM
Glad they didn't include No. 20, but I love extended editions and would have loved to see pretty much all of these scenes included, especially those concerning Havok (personal bias).

It seems that even w/ the timeshift/reboot he's still depicted as older than Scott...still not a fan of that particular detail, but I definitely would have loved to see him in action, seeing how he clearly had more control over his power and wasn't doing that obnoxious power-hoola-hoop shit.

A little disappointed that there was nothing on the "ya know, my mom knew a guy like that once" scene. I loved the look on Mags face as he quickly does the math in his head and his eyes bug a little like "oh shit...there was that time in DC years ago..."

I could very well do without Anna Paquin for a good long while. No to Roguesookie. No I say.
Dios - 7/10/2014, 9:58 AM
21. The Rowdy group of "urban" gentlemen that wouldnt let me watch the movie in peace
slickrickdesigns - 7/10/2014, 9:59 AM
@shabat
I agree Winter Soldier was the top cbm for this year.
yossarian - 7/10/2014, 10:00 AM
@Captain03 - Right...
slickrickdesigns - 7/10/2014, 10:02 AM
@thewonderer
If you think WS is not that great then what is considered great?
Aside from being a great cbm WS was a perfect espionage action film.
XMDOFP was what? A great film? if yes, What made it better than WS?
Gusto - 7/10/2014, 10:02 AM
24. Will this hangover ever end?
Alfredo27 - 7/10/2014, 10:03 AM
how does him having adamantium claws even bother anyone. Its not hard for Magneto to do it. Its just his claws.

DOFP was the top movie of the year sorry its already been decided.
BlackHulk - 7/10/2014, 10:04 AM
Things I would have liked to have seen in DOFP

Magneto and Mystique scene or mention after Logan wakes up.
Bishop having a bigger role/more lines
Cameo of younger Storm, Cyclops, Rogue viewing TV while the Mystique, Magneto and Beast footage is being shown.
Scarlet Witch mention or cameo while at Quicksilvers house.

Everything else was on point.
SauronsBANE - 7/10/2014, 10:05 AM
Man, I seriously can't wait to see the director's cut! I didn't love DoFP as much as I thought I would, so hopefully an extended version would go a long way towards fixing that for me.

#3: It makes sense that characters would question some of the time travel stuff, and it would've gone a long way towards making audiences clear as to what exactly was going on the whole time.

#4: This would've tied up some loose ends, rather than having guys like Havok and Toad in the movie for an entire action sequence, only to never be referenced again.

#7: I would've loved more Raven and Hank stuff, especially seeing how much importance was given to their relationship in First Class.

#10: I'm guessing that would've happened at the end of the movie, instead of them all going their separate ways? Interesting.

#18 and 19 would've been nice fan-service moments, but like thewonderer said, Kitty and Colossus' relationship was pretty clear in the final cut of the movie too.
deepee3 - 7/10/2014, 10:17 AM
People love the X-Men so much that even hot, sweating turds like the Singer movies find fans. Seeing the praise for these over done, poorly thought out pieces of cinema fan service is laughable.

No wonder Fox will keep these movies until hell freezes over. There seems to be just enough people who like whatever has an X-Men logo on it to make them money.
