We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

With great power, comes great responsibility.

With a bad script (and producers and director and studio...) comes SHIT FILM!
3DOldskool - 8/5/2014, 2:30 PM
The skipping rocks scene was ridiculously unnecessary.

With great power (the Spider-Man film license) comes great responsibility (don't make shit movies).

Unfortunately, Webb has failed his responsibility.
TheRationalNerd - 8/5/2014, 2:41 PM
"With "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" news comes naysayers of the film regardless how many times they claim they aren't interested in anything related to it."

No? I'll show myself out...lol

For One who likes the film like me , this is great :)

Not at all , Doom , not at all

I love how stupid the skipping rocks scene is. They spy on Harry just to end up framing him. It's so pointless it's [frick]ing hilarious!
TheRationalNerd - 8/5/2014, 2:47 PM
But honestly, will any of you all be seeing that Sinister 6 film? I think I can see where they're going with it. They may start off as being ruthless villains under the GG ruling and eventually Doc Ock will step up to retaliate and show the team how they can all work together rather than "one by one" as seen at the end of TASM2. Meh, idk...
cwarrior - 8/5/2014, 2:48 PM
I like the ending of the second video of Spider-Man's shadow
but I give AG props because he gives it his all

Hated ASM2 but I'll give Sinister Six a shot. It can have my money, just not on opening night.

Tbh I enjoyed the film up until the ending...they should of kept Harry but left the Goblin story out (and left it for the 3rd film) also Gwens death should of been in the 3rd, it felt way to rushed and honestly Emma Stone is one of the main reasons I saw this film...and don't get me started on Dr Kafka!! It was an enjoyable/fun film..it wasn't the best but it wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be...
armesin - 8/5/2014, 3:04 PM
Really sorry bad film.. either they reboot the whole thing or return it to Marvel..
mmadadamm - 8/5/2014, 3:04 PM
Why do they keep wanting to rape spiderman so much? just follow the [frick]ing comics they have a huge gold nugget in they're hands but they keep insisting on panning for more
Comicbookguy543 - 8/5/2014, 3:06 PM
Another small thing that bugged me was Goblins hissing and licking his teeth XD It seems stupid but for some reason I hated it!
mmadadamm - 8/5/2014, 3:06 PM
Get rid of the hipster vibe. Oscorp is too involved in these movies, having the villains all accidentally come from there is too convenient
3DOldskool - 8/5/2014, 3:14 PM
@EthanSmith

Can't we all say Tobey Maguire could've been a great Spider-man as well and it was more of the writers and Sony's fault too? Cause if we just attack one actor, but don't do it for the other, I don't think it's a fair game.
cwarrior - 8/5/2014, 3:16 PM
I never liked TM as PP/S-M
3DOldskool - 8/5/2014, 3:18 PM
@cwarrior

Since you don't bother to read comments before replying, I don't think anyone will care about you.
armesin - 8/5/2014, 3:19 PM
Spiderman & Peter looks very old, cocky, arrogant and emo in the film.. Which in the comics and cartoons he's young intelligent, funny, geeky, awkward student..

As Spider-man he is comedic wise cracking but never disregard others safety..

And everything in the movie starts at OSCORP... very cliche..

MrChuff - 8/5/2014, 3:22 PM
Any point in anyone buying the bluray if its all being splashed online in a desperate attempt to drum up some interest?
cwarrior - 8/5/2014, 3:23 PM
That doesn't bother me i'm not here for people to like me
I saw what you said while I do agree sony sticks their hands in waay too much
and screws everything up
However I was disappointed from the last and if they don't get it together or th writing etc then im done they're already on two strikes for me
3DOldskool - 8/5/2014, 3:28 PM
@EthanSmith

Funny thing is a lot of people think it's acceptable/fine to hate on Tobey Maguire like it's fault for the way his Spider-man was played, but they get butthurt when Andrew Garfield gets criticized for being an awful PP/SM and don't say it's the writers' fault.

So it's okay to hate on Tobey Maguire and ignore the writers who wrote him on the screen, but it's not okay to hate on Andrew Garfield and ignore the writers who write him on the screen.

This is what I find.. funny: the dysfunctional pattern of criticism.

I have no desire to watch this movie again.

I hope that write now, the producers are writing somewhere in their note book,

"Remember to hire a screenwriter and have a script ready for Spider-Man 3"

I'm not going to pay to see the next Spider-train wreck.

If the next one does turn out great (and it had better be better than just good) I'll buy it used on eBay.

Sony doesn't get my money anymore.

Fox, you're on notice.
mrbombastic - 8/5/2014, 4:28 PM
Please someone tell me that they are people who like both franchise like me , please !!!
cwarrior - 8/5/2014, 4:37 PM
Its funny when people call someone a hater if they genuinely don't like it, but I love how some people waste their breath complaining and whining about what they don't like constantly instead of being finished with afer stating your opinion I swear the one that do it sound like whiny little babies who need their diaper changed but that's just me

Josh Wilding version of this article:

"Five New (or Old, who cares) Crappy BTS Featurettes From THE FAMOUSLY INDESCRIBABLY TERRIBLE NOT-SO-AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Here's the clips below. If you want to watch them you're an idiot."
BaneNascent - 8/6/2014, 5:52 PM
Sad thing is that Spider-Man in the movie looks great! But they didn't even make the characters around him match up.

Movie Electro

Static Shock from DC

Real Electro

See the difference? You made Spider Man fight a DC character instead of a Marvel one. That is a fail on the most basic level! Why can't you get standard character design down? You have nobody to blame but yourselves for this Sony, you could have fan support but you want to do some weird social experiment instead of telling the story you are supposed to. You honestly deserve every bad bit of press you get. Because you don't respect the content. And the 'icing on the cake' is literally what Electro is supposed to look like in the 'secrets' promo. Stating that you just don't care.
A2ron - 8/6/2014, 7:41 PM
I really like the movie and picked it up yesterday. I really don't understand all the hate for it.
BatSlam - 8/6/2014, 8:32 PM
i watched it today for a second time and it wasn't as bad as i remember, i just think marc webb sucks at directing villians it seems. it also didn't need to waste so much time on peter wanting to be with gwen but pushing her away, that was all jst wasted space seeing as they end up back together anyways.the best scenes are when they are together, or him and aunt may in his bedroom, the action was great to when it was there. The only other really dumb part is even having the rhino in it. YOu could of had Paul be in the beginning (maybe a little less over the top) and name drop who he is but the end was dumb. You can't end a movie that way if you don't have a sequel coming out soon. also when the goblin finally appears it is almost a shrug off moment because the fight is so long.

ok, so i guess for it not being as bad as i remember, maybe there was a lot still wrong with it.
RobertLiefeld - 8/6/2014, 11:02 PM
@BaneNascent

I agree, the villains were [frick]ing terrible, plus all the wasted time back and forth with Gwen and Peter really dragged the whole thing down.
TheDarkKryptonian - 8/6/2014, 11:18 PM
@BaneNascent Electro was CERTAINLY not a strong point in this movie, but that costume would have made it much, much worse.

@mrbombastic I loved Toby and Andrew as Peter. Both franchises had great and okay films, imo.
