Fan-favorite Hayley Atwell, who portrayed Peggy Carter in the Captain America films and will return to the role in Joss Whedon's upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, will also thankfully be gracing our TV screens with her presence next January in her own series: Agent Carter. The first season will consist of 8 episodes and will air on ABC during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s winter hiatus. The series will focus on Peggy's life post-Cap and how she eventually helped start the organization formerly known as S.H.I.E.L.D

Amongst other things, she reveals that the series will start shooting near the end of September giving her a few weeks to get into tip-top shape. She also spoke in length about her favorite part about playing Peggy:

"My favorite part is something the audiences haven't seen yet. It's the development of her character throughout the series which will be someone who is kind of more three-dimensional, something that women can relate to, as not just the competent, strong, intelligent woman in this workforce, but the psychological, emotional cost. What it takes for a woman to have to sacrifcie personal relationships in order to find her place in the world and to fulfill her kind of destiny."

Check out her full interview with TVLine's Michael Ausiello below:

It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark.

Key word being "hot"

yossarian - 8/5/2014, 2:58 PM
Is this an 8 episode mini-series or an ongoing show? Is this on Netflix or ABC? I haven't been paying attention to this at all.
JoeMomma29 - 8/5/2014, 2:59 PM
@ Yoss

This will be on ABC so when Agents of Shield go on hiatus for a few weeks Agent of Carter will show, and then back to Agents of Shield.
yossarian - 8/5/2014, 3:01 PM
@Joe - But it is a limited run right? Like it is only this season and not an ongoing thing?
mmadadamm - 8/5/2014, 3:09 PM
Agents of Shield is so lame.
MrLoki - 8/5/2014, 3:13 PM
It's a first season with 8 episodes. If people like it, there will be more seasons, hopefully.

It's gonna be so good!
FordEl - 8/5/2014, 3:13 PM
@mmadadamm

Hopefully this and Daredevil are good
JoeMomma29 - 8/5/2014, 3:15 PM
@ Yoss

Well it has been picked up for one limited full season, if that makes any sense. And if the ratings are there I am sure it will get picked up for a second season with more episodes.
Bluehero - 8/5/2014, 3:19 PM
@Marky

What movie is that gif from?
yossarian - 8/5/2014, 3:21 PM
Ahhh...now the info is posted. Thanks.
brady12 - 8/5/2014, 3:22 PM
somebody is always gonna bitch on this site well whatever its your opinion
DrKinsolving - 8/5/2014, 3:22 PM
I think this looks cool, especially with Edwin Jarvis and Papa Stark as characters, if Dominic Cooper plays Stark again I'll definitely be watching
Spideysense44 - 8/5/2014, 3:23 PM
I say keep the episoses under 13
Arrow96 - 8/5/2014, 3:23 PM
Why the hell is this getting made.......
2gold - 8/5/2014, 3:25 PM
So Howard Stark is in it? Alright, now I'm back interested. Give me Dum Dum and Stark, I'm interested more.
rorywilliams - 8/5/2014, 3:27 PM
"Why the hell is this getting made......."

Because they realized women like the character and thus there's an audience for her? By that logic was anyone asking for the Guardians of the Galaxy?
DeusExSponge - 8/5/2014, 3:31 PM
BlueHero - It's not a movie, it's from a British TV series called 'Black Mirror'. That particular GIF is from Season 2, Episode 1.
MediaMan - 8/5/2014, 3:34 PM
Why is this getting made? Because she's a solid character, and it's something different. Good for Marvel. I'll be tuning in.
staypuffed - 8/5/2014, 3:40 PM
I keep saying this, but I'm pretty sure Hayley Atwell is more excited for this show than anyone else.
RetroFit - 8/5/2014, 3:45 PM
I'm just still wondering why they decided to make this a prequel instead of picking up from where the One-Shot ended up.
RetroFit - 8/5/2014, 3:46 PM
Her One-Shot is the best One-Shot of the bunch, too. I'd rather watch that again than Thor 2, Iron Man 2 or Iron Man 3 or any of the other One-Shots.
vPuik - 8/5/2014, 3:48 PM
I got her autograph in San Diego. She is one of those people who look even better in person than in photoshopped pictures. Now that's an accomplishment.
kevberg - 8/5/2014, 3:59 PM
looking forward to this! She was great in the one-shot as well. plus shes just gorgeous to look at.
marvel72 - 8/5/2014, 4:17 PM
a new "busty" role model, loved the agent carter one shot, looking forward to the mini series.
GodzillaKart - 8/5/2014, 4:23 PM
This show could be absolutely fantastic.
SirDuckAlot - 8/5/2014, 4:31 PM
It's gonna be a gem.
Chewtoy - 8/5/2014, 4:41 PM
Of all of the comic book television shows being produced, this is the one I'm most interested in. I like the lead, I like the time period, and I like the concept. There is no downside of it to me.

I'd honestly rather see things like this then half-realized, TV-budget versions of major characters.
Donovan - 8/5/2014, 5:24 PM
...mmmhhh...I'd watch just for all that emotional stuff..
0megaDaGod - 8/5/2014, 5:25 PM
Damn, she is a goddess

With the writers from Cap 2, the directors from Cap 2, and the director from Cap 1 on board, dis gon be good
MrValle - 8/5/2014, 5:36 PM
I preferred if the show would reprise after the end of the One-Shot, but whatever...i think it's gonna be good....i hope in many easter eggs...
Dunejedi - 8/5/2014, 6:18 PM
She's a peach and the show is gonna be Da Bomb.com!!!
l0rdleg0las - 8/5/2014, 6:58 PM
After 9 movies by Marvel, Hayley is without question the most beautiful actress in the entire series. She is also the only female lead/love interest to have good onscreen chemistry with her Male lead.
PeterDarker121 - 8/5/2014, 8:36 PM
Hayley also co-stars in the Jimi Hendrix biopic which will be in limited release next month (along with Ruth "The Girl in the Flowered Dress" Negga), I might add..!

GadoTheLion - 8/5/2014, 9:01 PM
Not gonna hear me complain about more hayley atwell.seems like they got enough good people around to make this a decent show.now if they can Fix AOS which was meh at best.I'll be really pumped
Minghagz - 8/5/2014, 9:10 PM
Hottest CBM girl. I will definitely be watching this. Plus it sounds very interesting.
Patrick2274 - 8/6/2014, 12:34 AM
Oh man she's so fine!
Pinocchio - 8/6/2014, 5:29 AM
