"Nothing lasts forever"

We've heard Scarlett Johannson's Black Widow utter this ominous line multiple times over the past few months in a variety of different trailers for Marvel's magnum opus Avengers: Age Of Ultron and while she's referring to the state of the Avengers, could this phrase also refer to the the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole?

In another excerpt from his interview with the good folks at Collider, the long-time Marvel president revealed that his contract with Marvel Studios will be up sometime in 2018, a year that features the releases of Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. Could this be the end of the line for the man that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2008?

Long story short - No.

Well, probably not.

Feige will of course be free to walk if he so chooses, but chances he walks away at the end of the 2018 calendar year, barring any unforeseen circumstances, are slim to none, especially if Marvel keeps churning out billion-dollar blockbusters, which for the foreseeable future, it more than likely will. Additionally, it's highly doubtful Feige wouldn't re-up his contract with Marvel prior to the conclusion of Phase 3, which would come to a close with 2019's Avengers: Infinity War - Part 2 & Inhumans.

Prior to being appointed the president of Marvel Studios in 2007, Feige got his start in the industry working with Lauren Shuler Donner on Fox's original X-Men trilogy and then also went on to work on Sony's original Spider-Man trilogy, which were the two wildly successful franchises of the early millenia that more or less set off the entire CBM phenomena that has dominated the film industry for the past decade. Ever since then, he has received an executive producer credit on almost every Marvel property that has hit theaters since 2000.

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the "CBM phenomenon" started long before Feige & his work on Xmen & Spiderman.

Not sure why people wanna rewrite history to give Marvel all the credit, but DC had successful movies during a time when Marvel had none.

As far as whether Feige will renew his contract with Marvel, I don't really care, since I don't really enjoy his/their product.
