and in the show the Ras clearly says

The actual correct spelling is something like "السهم" because it's Arabic.
All the English spellings are phonetic approximations.

I have serious reservations about the title character, among other things.

The Oliver Queen from comics (pre-new 52) is hotheaded, funny, arrogant, and passionate. The Oliver Queen from Arrow has no personality whatsoever.

After Daredevil all writers on comic book shows need to have a serious meeting on how to improve their shit.
Arrow is not bad..far from great. Mediocre won't cut it,it has its moments but boring mostly. Get it in gear.
