The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

i think Clarke won't have to do much in this movie in terms of acting once he will change into Terminator. He will basically just try to kill his mother.

I for one am excited for the movie. I dont understand all the hate. People dont have to watch it they dont to. But ill be there at the first showing, which my theatre is doing a special showing at 7pm on the 30th. I think its going to suprise a lot of doubters :) at least, i hope so.

@NerdMan, that would make Skynet not exist and they are doing all this for self preservation. The terminator in the first movie is sent as a last resort type of thing because humans are about to win the war. They clearly couldn't have sent him in further back to kill Sarah Parrent's because they had no idea who Sarah Connor really was.

it's not the ACTUAL John Connor is it? It's just a Terminator that looks like him right? Coz if he is going after his mam n dad and kills them then he would never have existed in the first place and that was the what SKYNET wanted all along right from the first Terminator right? And if Skynet did this to the actual John Connor why not just kill him? Got to see the film just to find out where this goes...colour me intrigued
