Yeah, I'd be shocked if The Force Awakens doesn't end up demolishing these records, December release or not. Never underestimate the hordes of multi-generational Star Wars fanboys.

The only good thing about this news is that children still like dinosaurs. Otherwise, [frick] this.

Yep, if Jurassic World is doing this well, then Star Wars is going to take ALL the money.

I still wish I could've liked this movie. It's a sorry excuse for a Jurassic Park movie, though it's an entertaining enough B-movie monster flick. It didn't help that it feels like it was either edited to hell, or the script just didn't bother with tying up loose ends.

I don't begrudge it making so much money, though. At this point, I'm actually pretty curious to see how far it'll go.

I enjoyed the movie, but it could have done without the kids. I think with how well Jurassic World did a sequel is a sure thing. I just hope that one just sticks with adults. I have never seen anyone say they liked the kids in any of the JP movies, so just skip them and use adults instead.

I saw Inside Out this weekend. Amazing.

The CG for T-Rex looks so cartoony.

Damn!!! Who would of thought this movie would beat The Avengers this year at the Box Office. Can't wait for another visit to the park in JP5/JW2

@ckal I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it does. I've seen predictions of up to $300 million opening weekend, though that'd probably be a best-case scenario. Just based on the reaction to both trailers and the amount of traffic that ANY rumor concerning Star Wars gets, the hype is massive. It's just a question if that hype translates to ticket sales.

good movie. Solid action mixed with some great sets, nice effects and JP theme. Pratt was surprisingly good, Sy was well cast as his sidekick, kids actors were really decent. But it was really Irrfan Khan that almost stole the whole show.

On the flip side : Villains and their far fetched motivations. Also Howard character didn't quite work for me during second half of the movie.

I just have a hard time believing that Episode 7 will have a massive, record-breaking opening weekend. And it has nothing to do with how the movie looks -- I think it looks great. It has to do with the time of the year it's being released.

Jurassic World was released during the time of the year when it's a million degrees outside, kids are out of school, the family has no plans, no holidays, and no huge financial commitments to worry about. Meanwhile Episode 7 is coming out in December. Very few (sane) people will be camping out to see Episode 7 in freezing temperatures. The kids will be out of school, but the families will have holiday plans, and most people will be broke thanks to Christmas. I don't think it'll flop -- actually it will do extremely well, but it just won't have the $250 million opening weekend that people are predicting. Episode 8 on the other hand...

Next one will have to go Lost world/JP3 style or something along the lines of a virus getting unleashed due to the Dinosaurs that spreads risking human lives, a battlefield story ain't something i would want to see as it just sounds silly and no Dino/Human hybrids please

Only way there could be another reopening of the park is in another 20 years when some idiot thinks they could crack it, then all hell breaks lose...

Also could the I-Rex still be alive? was mixed with snakes, fish etc (crazy idea)

Shit movie.

But to each his or her own.

The sequels should be even worse. Might as well give up any connections to the original Jurassic Park concept.

Jurassic War indeed.

it's really weird because in term of monsters fighting monsters Jurassic World was closer to Godzilla movies than 2014 Godzilla. I guess.
