That's awesome, and makeup and everything took only an hour and a half?

That's really impressive

I hated Vision.

If it wasn't for this robot, that other robot would have killed all humans.

Fine, I'll kill all humans myself.

Vision was a definite highlight of AoU, I loved him!

Didn't like how Vision's origin was portrayed. They should've kept him a direct creation of Ultron because of the nice poetry of a robot who betrays his creator having his creation betray him. In the movie, his origin was way too convoluted.

And I didn't like Ultron's portrayal. Having him emote takes away from the fact that he's a walking contradiction; a robot who hates humanity yet expresses human emotion through anger.

@SnapperCarr

Going into the film, I always thought at first Vision would be a villain. Not bad but he would sort of be like Ultron's second in command.

Originally I thought we would see Ultron led the Iron Legion throughout missions and he would see how the people feel about the Avengers and what they were doing and would feel hate towards them. He would snap when Ultron's body is damaged on a mission and Tony's response is simply to build a new body.

But going back to Vision, Vision would see the opposite. He wouldn't feel hate towards human but he would see fear and feel that what Ultron is doing isn't right and would betray Ultron. Sort of have Vision and Ultron have similar origins but give each different perspectives. Would have worked way better

On a separate note, how did Thor even know about Vision before he came to help bring him to life? Was Vision in Thor's dream thing when he went in to the "Water of Sight"? How did Thor know that Vision even had an Infinity Stone in the first place?

Totally agree that seeing Pym create Ultron would have been ideal, imo, and seeing the Pym/Ultron dynamic, actually the Pym/Ultron/Janet dynamic would have been awesome

But

Pym creating Ultron = A robot who hates humanity yet expresses human emotion through anger, I feel like this is totally Pym

Banner and Stark creating Ultron = MCU Ultron. You can totally see Stark's influence and he's articulate like Banner and takes his powers to global destruction, he's unhinged, like Hulk

I believe most of that would've been explained in the scene that Whedon had to cut.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 8/27/2015, 3:15 PM
Having Stark create Ultron, and Ultron not being able to emote wouldn't match up

I feel like it really would have been easier if Pym created Ultron. Wish Ant-Man wasn't in limbo for so long and it could have came out earlier

I also wish Stark and Banner mentioned the Ultron project at the end of Iron Man 3, it would have been a perfect time to hint that they were working on the project together and tied into AOU
SnapperCarr
SnapperCarr - 8/27/2015, 3:16 PM
@LEVITIKUZ Yeah that is kind of what I was expecting too, and that would've been perfect.

Ant-Man rocked, and Douglas is awesome, so is Rudd but I feel like Marvel really missed out on some amazing story potential by bypassing Hank Pym and moving straight to Lang

I feel like one of the main reasons was because Whedon was dead set on making an Ultron movie, but the MCU wasn't entirely ready for Ultron, all the pieces weren't in place

But AOU still rocked
LEVITIKUZ
LEVITIKUZ - 8/27/2015, 3:22 PM
Just imagine if Tony told Ultron "don't worry, I'll just build you a new body".

Ultron would snap and feel nothing but hate. "Just build me a new body? Like I'm replaceable? Like I'm nothing without you? What if I destroy you Stark? Would you just build yourself a new body? No you don't think you can get hurt Stark. With your charm and your attitude, you think your invincible despite the fact you're closest friend sold you out to terrorist and you gave your home address to a terrorist on national television and they blew up your home. You don't understand how to save the world. None of you do. With ever threat you take out, a new one rises and while a new one rises you still around waiting for them to attack. You all hope they are plotting for something because without them, you all are nothing and you all know it. The only way to peace isn't to take out Hydra and fight bad guys. The path to peace requires all of you both heroes and villains to die".
SnapperCarr
SnapperCarr - 8/27/2015, 3:25 PM
@DrKinsolving Idk if Ultron had to be like he was in the movie because he was created by Stark. Yes, Jarvis and Dum-E (the cleaning robot from the IM movies) showed personality, but they never emoted. Stark is snarky, yet logical. Ultron would have been much more sinister if he had his comic face with the personality from the movie because of the jarring difference.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 8/27/2015, 3:25 PM
Come on, haha, Ultron had some awesome dialogue in AOU

"How could you be worthy? You're all killers. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. There's only one path to peace: your extinction."

"I'm going to show you something beautiful. The whole world screaming for mercy. You're all puppets tangled in strings... strings..."

"Do you see the beauty of it? The inevitability? You rise, only to fall. You, Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword and the Earth will crack with the weight of your failure. Purge me from your computers; turn my own flesh against me. It means nothing! When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world... will be metal!"

"There were over a dozen extinction level events before even the dinosaurs got theirs! When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it. And believe me, he's winding up. We have to evolve. There's no room for the weak."

"I think you're confusing "peace" with "quiet."

@SnapperCarr

I feel like if Ultron wasn't influence by Stark's personality it would be odd, imo

Ultron was created from the mind stone and the mind stone has a symbiotic relationship to those around it, it even made Strucker smarter. Ultron was created out of a combination of Stark Tech, the existing save the world protocols that Stark and Banner fused into the Ultron project and The mind stone

@VisualMaximus

I'm guessing he would tell him after a mission where the Iron Legion is trying to calm down people, people are mad and in it, Ultron gets damaged because someone in the crowd may have a gun or something and they may walk over Ultron.

Sort of like how people were against the Avengers in the beginning of the film and throwing stuff at the Iron Legion if I recall.

Ultron sees nothing but human nature's hate. He has a bad day and all the sudden his creator's response to fixing him is simply to throw away his body he has and build a new one. Building a new body doesn't mean the wounds are healed psychologically and Ultron sees this as the final breaking point. He feels nothing hate from people and sees his owner reject him so to speak.

So Ultron basically goes off. I always wouldn't have given Ultron multiple bodies like the film did. Have him have one body he constantly upgrades and in the end of the final when his body is destroyed, we see the Avengers A on his chest.

Just my thoughts. Nothing too deep, just spent like 9 minutes thinking of this stuff.

I will admit, I do have an idea for an origin with Ultron for the Marvel universe. It would involve Pym but not just Pym. Pym would create Ultron to help heroes. There are many heroes but there is stuff we can't all do and we are fragile and stuff. Ultron helps out. Not just the Avengers. Have an idea when Pym creates Ultron, he enlists Stark, Banner, Mr Fantastic, Professor X, and Beast. Ultron is like the leader of a giant police force to aid all heroes and does. He is given the ability to evolution when the situation requires a different direction. Over time, he grows hateful with every hateful act he sees and sees that the only way to stop evil is to also stop good. You can't have good without evil and evil without good. So you must destroy everybody.

During the story, he creates Vision to show he too can create life and makes Vision his number one guy. Overtime Vision sees what Ultron's doing and doesn't support it and stuff, gets the heroes to come together and even the Masters of Evil and yea they all defeat Ultron. Just my direction with him or at least a rough idea.

Excellent makeup job on Vision. I thought he was a great character in the movie. Of course he could have used more development, but he was still great nonetheless

I'm starting to think in Civil War if SW is on Cap's side we will start to see that love interest between her and Vision. It could possibly make Vision switch sides
