While not as easter egg-filled as their last few posts, The Amazing Spider-Man's fictional Daily Bugle Tumblr has published another article by Ned Leeds, this time focusing on Oscorp. Check out the full article for yourself below.

February 7, 2014

By Ned Leeds, City Bureau

Has the District Attorney’s office opened an official investigation into potential criminal activity at Oscorp Industries? All involved have been denying but I’ve got a pretty sensitive… dishonesty detector.

An investigation is to be expected — The Lizard (Oscorp’s own Dr. Curt Connors) wreaked havoc on the city and killed a police hero. If my local video rental place did that, they’d go out of business! But perhaps that’s not a good example.

The DA and the NYPD seem to be (and ought to be!) collaborating on an in-depth investigation of every aspect of Oscorp’s operations.

Just because Oscorp has a few congressmen in their pockets doesn’t mean that they’re above the law. The truth will emerge; public safety comes first.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.

@AnnoDomini
Exactly! One of the things that bothers me about the "Amazing Spider-Man" movies is that they do not adequately capture the characters. These filmmakers do not "get" Spider-Man.
dethpillow - 2/7/2014, 7:57 PM
@Anno - haha, great point, totally.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 8:20 PM
there's no possible way that could happen. not even with the combined lying power of every nasty little snot on these message boards could jameson or leeds have made it seem like spidey killed stacy or was responsible for oscorp

@Eustace - quite the opposite. they really do. it seems like you don't

if ned keeps talking like that someone's gonna try and shut him down
CaptainObvious - 2/7/2014, 8:46 PM
Actually, that is out of character for JJJ not to somehow implicate Spider-Man in the death of Captain Stacy.

It doesn't surprise me that these people don't understand Spider-Man when they had Peter flailing around NYC beating up random people instead of realizing that with great power comes great responsibility.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 8:55 PM
the nypd and the da are looking in to what happened. it would be very hard trying to lie when the truth will eventually and shortly come out. but, if there's one thing i know, it's that liars are persistent. so, jj will probably have many opportunities to do what he does

the haters of tasm don't seem to understand spider-man at all
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 9:16 PM
everybody that saw the bugle news saw spidey on his way to save the day and stop the lizard monster

oh, by the way, here's another daily bugle viral

The trial of Dr. Curt Connors came to an end as the former geneticist for Oscorp Industries was found guilty on all twenty counts for which he was indicted, including the murder of NYPD Captain George Stacy.

Connors and his attorney, Anne Weying, were unable to convince the jury that he was not responsible for his deadly actions while transformed. His defense that he only injected himself with the serum that changed him into the Lizard to prevent Oscorp Industries from experimenting on innocent civilians did not sway the jury.

Next stop: Rikers. But even that is controversial. Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane has said their facility is better served for housing and studying a prisoner such as Connors, but the judge has yet to rule on where Curt Connors will spend what is likely to be the rest of his life.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 9:31 PM
i think it's really awesome that marc webb and andrew and co. are actual and honest fans of the spider-man. a lot of love and fan-service going into these movies. good times
nailbiter111 - 2/7/2014, 9:43 PM
please stop copying and pasting my layouts. come up with your own look.
KingPatel - 2/7/2014, 9:58 PM
@nailbiter111 Hey I just sent you an e-mail, and I've changed the layout on this article, let me know if there's anything more I can do
nailbiter111 - 2/7/2014, 10:20 PM
KingPatel - looks much better
KingPatel - 2/7/2014, 10:31 PM
@nailbiter111 Thanks, just saw your comment on the X-Men article, changed that one as well
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 10:43 PM
connors apparently didn't mention anything about spider-man in the trial. you expecting a little blurb or some lible going on? is that the magic key to "getting" spider-man? how about, read the rest of the paper if you could? there's probably stuff. there's probably been shit-talkin' from jj in a lot of their actual bugles and probably on their news channel. and quite possibly, jonah may have even been more annoying about it as you are with these movies

Indy - 2/7/2014, 10:56 PM
I miss Sam Raimi he knows spider-man and his world better than webb. The reboot is a disgrace one of the worst superhero film I can think of lot people don't like sm3 but it had more heart and charm then ASM will ever have ASM is a money grab with zero heart.
Indy - 2/7/2014, 11:04 PM
@AnnoDomini

SM3 is disappointment but going back to it a much more fun film and more enjoyable then ASM which destroy who spider-man is they let uncle ben killer get away for peak sake that just frustrating and un forgivable and Andrew plays peter as a douche.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:12 PM
@Indy - wow. that's all completely untrue
Indy - 2/7/2014, 11:14 PM
@Jollem

Eye of the beholder man just my option if you like ASM I don't care good for you man glad you enjoy it.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:15 PM
@AnnoDomini - okay. you have an opinion that jj should have talked shit about spider-man in this one viral here. that proves nothing other than you just found one more thing to bitch about. that they could have done something, which means frick all--like all of your lies and bullshit
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:16 PM
@Indy - no, i respect that you feel how you feel, even if i believe that your statements are silly
Indy - 2/7/2014, 11:22 PM
@Jollem

Yeah lol I just love spider-man favorite Superhero so I am might been too hard on the film I am critical if I see something I don't like did same thing for sm3 too.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:32 PM
@Indy - yeah, i can gripe about any movie. even the ones i love
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:35 PM
this is an amazing version of spider-man and i can't wait for all the awesomeness of tasm 2, 3, and 4 and the sinister 6 and venom movie and who knows what else
Indy - 2/7/2014, 11:37 PM
@Jollem

Passion for something can over take use fans sometime not a bad thing look I can't love everything even if I want to; I love Indy last movie hurt me inside even know I want to love it. I didn't like last spider-man suit complain but look they hear the complaint and gave us a much better suit so complaining not a bad thing at times not all time sometimes.
Indy - 2/7/2014, 11:39 PM
@Jollem
Super happy your excited man!! hope new one make me more happy I love the bed room scene with aunt may made me very happy from the trailer and I can't wait play the game looking forward to that.
Jollem - 2/7/2014, 11:56 PM
ya know, i actually enjoyed indy 4. it felt very much like an indy movie and the fridge part was just good movie fun. i loved the reference to his other missions which expanded the character's mythos, and involving aliens is no more weird to me than mystical, magic stones or mystical, magical religious relics

i thought tasm suit looked slick and cool and of course i love the new suit
Indy - 2/8/2014, 12:12 AM
I got use to it lol.
loki668 - 2/8/2014, 12:43 AM

It's like Sony knows how [frick]ing stupid this version of Oscorp is.

I wonder how they'll "fix" this mess up.
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 2:39 AM
^^wat
dethpillow - 2/8/2014, 3:20 AM
i smell a One Shot.
Pending - 2/8/2014, 3:26 AM
@Joll

Well the fact that all these freak accidents and super powered beings can be traced back to them makes it pretty obvious that THEY are the problem.

Then again what do you expect from a company that has no security and doesn't check anyone for ID's.
loki668 - 2/8/2014, 3:47 AM
Well, damn. Who the hell let Jollem have a bola?!?
Jollem - 2/8/2014, 4:04 AM
@Pending - let's just see what happens with oscorp, shall we?

@loki - nobody. i stoled it :D
theowl - 2/8/2014, 4:25 AM
Nobody I know have anything bad to say about the new series. They love it.

They always tell me: " the new series are much more true to the comics "
" It's not that childish anymore"
" the tone is better and the new Peter Parker is perfect"

I agree with them. And I loved Tobey as Spider-man, and I still love spider-man 1,2 and actually the third one as well.

But TASM captured something that I always wanted to see in the Raimi movies. I don't know what but they did.
Clainer - 2/8/2014, 1:37 PM
@AnnoDomini Please... Please just shut up. You don't like the direction the new movies are going, we get it. You're a classic complainer of everything about these movies. Instead of being I dunno happy? that you even live in a lifetime where you get to watch your HERO in live action cinema and the studio take their time to write all these Daily Bugle articles FOR THE FANS, all you do is come on here and sh*t on everything. Who cares if it's not taken directly from the comics. You have to change things for the benefit of cinema. UNDERSTAND that. Good day.
Eustace - 2/8/2014, 2:18 PM
With any Spider-Man story, Peter Parker is supposed to be portrayed in a way that makes him relatable to the audience. Peter Parker is the average guy. Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire were able to portray Peter Parker in that way. I was able to sympathize with Peter. On the other hand, Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield portray Peter Parker as an inconsiderate jerk. It is hard to like a movie with my all-time favorite character if the filmmakers cannot even portray him correctly. Another example of the inadequate portrayals of the characters is how they handled Flash. It bothered me seeing Peter and Flash being all buddy buddy at the end of "The Amazing Spider-Man." The Daily Bugle tumblr page is not really fan service, it is just part of the marketing campaign.
dethpillow - 2/9/2014, 2:24 AM
you know what too, i used to have in my head that the police pressure on Oscorp over Lizard could be a cool way to introduce the Goblin.

cuz i planned it out that what would happen is Lizard would draw all this attention to Oscorp and questions about how authorized his experiments were and what test subjects were used and what other things were going on at Oscorp, so they'd raid the place, basically freezing any further research.

And Norman would've anticipated this and shuttled a lot of assets out underground, cuz he's desperate to get the Goblin serum stable cuz he's dying.
And then also you add in that Norman's always had a certain amount of completely underground research, he would've put Connors there, but didn't think his research was all that radical or necessary to hide.

But it would turn out also that a lot of this underground was funded by crime lords, particularly Kingpin, but also had contracted for a bunch of tech with Osborn, and paid money up front to fund the creation of it. So when all this happens with Lizard, Osborn is finding himself in a tight place cuz suddenly, he owes either deliverable product to Kingpin, which is already long overdue, or has to pay back a ton of money to Kingpin, and since his assetts are frozen due to Lizard, he can't really do the second one.

So Kingpin starts to get aggressive with him, and he's stressed out from the investigators finding even more stuff from their initial warrants and now like the DEA and CIA, FBI are coming too, cuz Osborn has certain things that come up traceble to the Russian mob, as well. and Kingpin, of course, has a hand on the Russian mob, and he just decides to send Rhino over to just steal this prototype mech suit that he had paid for, he gets information as to it's location or whatever. and he has his own guy, The Tinkerer, who claims he could fix it up whatever state it's in.

so you'd have Rhino steal this suit, and have Osborn getting more and more sick, and stressed out, and have him crack from all the pressure, and just take the serum as it is, which in the process, would leave a huge disaster in it's wake much like what they did in Ultimate Spidey, but bunch of dead Oscorp employees, and obvious evidence of some unauthorized human testing. so Oscorp would be shut down entirely, Norman would be presumed dead or fugitive if found. and Goblin would go underground and take his vendetta to build a new empire out on Kingpin on one front. and on the other front Spider-Man cuz he's Parkers kid and also he sees him as the whole reason this mess started in the first place.

and also, he wants Peter to come work for him.

so it would've been the perfect way, i thought to introduce crime lord Goblin, kinda more in line with the comics, but keep Goblin researching underground and coming up with more weird stuff and also introduce a lot of the crime world type elements of Spider-Man and get the Kingpin, Enforcers and such into the picture.

In my head, the first one actully shouldn't have been Lizard, it should've been Kingpin, Enforcers and Tinkerer as villains. just street level crime and second one should've escalated to super powers.
dethpillow - 2/9/2014, 2:29 AM
or actually what you would have happen is have Osborn give Kingpin the Rhino suit. Rhino would go out and use it for a robbery or something and Spider-Man would come and outwit him, and catch him.

So Kingpin would be furious with Osborn for giving him a suit that is basically worthless and start sweating Norman to give him his money back. and sending goons over to physically threaten and make him realize that Kingpin would kill him. so that's what would send Norman over the edge and be like the third thing that he has against Peter... Parker's son, Lizard, Rhino. and that would explain better. i forgot it goes like that and not the other way that i wrote.
dethpillow - 2/9/2014, 2:47 AM
and Lizard is actually enough to carry his own movie, a standalone horror story dealing more with ideas of law, justice, mercy, family, abuse, and what it means to be a human, and whether or not it's possible for humans to abandon society and revert to jungle law, or abandon their sense of compassion and moral codes.

and i've always loved how Goblin was initially, for whatever reason, warring against crime elements in a bid to rule all crime in the city.

and it'd be fun to watch him take out Kingpin, brutally and thru extreme force and see Spidey caught in the middle of all that. then in the third one, make it real personal between the two and end with Gwen's death and aftermath, including "death" of the Goblin. then in 4th one have the Gentleman, along with Harry to some capacity, taking on Norman's lagacy and organizing a Sinister Six to hunt down Spidey and kill him. but then toss in Nova's ideas about Gentleman being Ezekiel too.

it'd be great stuff.

1 - Origin, Kingpin, Enforcers, Tinkerer

2 - Kingpin, Rhino, Green Goblin, Chameleon, Tinkerer

3 - Green Goblin, Electro, Chameleon, Tinkerer, MJ, Gwen dies.

4&5 - Sinister Six Gentleman/Ezekiel, Chameleon, Tinkerer, Electro, Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion (JJJ subplot), Harry Goblin, introduce Venom symbiote/black suit. plus a little Madame Web.

6 - Lizard, Black Cat, Venom suit takes toll on Peter, dehumanizing him, he ditches it last scene of movie.

7 - Venom, Miles Warren

8 - Kraven, Miles Warren and clones in background arc

9 - Jackal, Clone Saga full on, Mysterio

10 - Morlun, Gentleman/Ezekiel, Madame Web.
