We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an unspecified role

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

TheMexicanSuperman - 3/21/2014, 11:59 AM
@TheUltimateSuperman92, it means point of view. Think first person shooters.
Chloefornication - 3/21/2014, 12:05 PM
"Making it bigger without losing the heart"

But the first movie had absolutely no heart at all.
Chloefornication - 3/21/2014, 12:10 PM
@TheUltimateSuperman9

Spidey will have some POV shots, some of them were already shown, and Electro will have and "electro vision". He will be able to see electricity everywhere. The more energy, the brighter he sees. He can see electricity in people's phones in their pockets, the electric cables, the big screens in Times Square, etc.

The film also seem to have some POV shots from Spider-Man using spider sense, not just the scenes when he's web swinging.
BlackCat1 - 3/21/2014, 12:11 PM
I hope that Felicity is Felicia

I'm gonna be so broke after this summer.
Sephit - 3/21/2014, 12:28 PM
Have you seen the film already? How do you know all that? @Chloefornication
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 12:40 PM
First movie had heart and emotion. Love the fact green goblin's evolution is due to a disease. Very plausible for a comicbook film.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 12:43 PM
This will be the definitive spidey film we deserve, not like that garbage juice raimi trilogy where everything was a cheeseball factory and love interest was snaggletooth Watson.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 12:49 PM
The Amazing Spiderman was a place of feeling down and hurt while peter is trying to find himself as a teenager. The adults around him help guide be it Uncle Ben, Aunt May, Dr. Connors, and Captain Stacey. This seems peter is in a place of self awareness but everything holds consequences may it be from his parents past to breaking promises. Like how Webb is shaping this spidey universe.
Pending - 3/21/2014, 1:05 PM
@Chloefornication

Yep totally agree. Webb relied solely on good acting to push that first movie, no heart whatsoever.
SuperSpiderMan5778 - 3/21/2014, 1:25 PM
marc webb...just his last name says it all
Chloefornication - 3/21/2014, 2:09 PM
@Sephit

Search for "The amazing spider man 2 first minutes" on Google, especially the news section. Several websites have already seen 30 minutes of the film, including the Times Square sequence and they describe several things with great details and major plot points.
Chloefornication - 3/21/2014, 2:13 PM
@TheRealRemyLebeau No, the first movie was a complete heartless and empty thing made for financial reasons by people with zero passion and creativity trying to appeal for all the audiences at the same time with absolute no idea of what they were doing and an extremely rushed production made solemnly to secure the rights to the character.

A film that goes from nowhere to nowhere. Completely empty, pointless, souless and terribly written. An "artistic" murder of the character.
fortycals - 3/21/2014, 2:19 PM
As many small gripes I had with the first, it did set this one up to be possibly the greatest spidey movie. I'm very happy with what I have seen so far
TheRationalOne - 3/21/2014, 2:32 PM
Chloefornication - No. YOU'RE wrong.

The first movie had major heart and a better written story then any of Raimi's movies. You're clearly one of those self-righteous know it all nerds who shit on anything that isn't their perfect vision of what it should be.
TheRationalOne - 3/21/2014, 2:33 PM
And when I say you're wrong, I mean you're entitled to your opinion, even if you don't think others should be.
Pending - 3/21/2014, 2:46 PM
The fact that people ALWAYS have to keep comparing Webb's film to Raimi's is pretty indicative of TASM's quality. TASM can't stand on it's own merits.
MercwithMouth - 3/21/2014, 2:53 PM
@Pending

People compare Webb's movie to Raimi's because they're both Spider-Man movies...
H3LLBLAZER - 3/21/2014, 2:57 PM
Please Marc Webb, give back the rights to Marvel. You piece of giant turd. Companies like Sony and Fox are holding hostage, the potential of a genuine and faithful MCU.
Pending - 3/21/2014, 3:01 PM
@Merc

A movie like Batman 89' is hardly ever used as a comparison to justify Batman Begins even though they're both Batman films. So there's that.
ChuckV - 3/21/2014, 3:11 PM
There were problems with Raimi's movies, but heart wasn't one of them. Meanwhile, Webb's ASM made me really dislike Peter and the important message in his origin was nowhere to be found.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 3:30 PM
Blind fools. I seen the message of the amazing spiderman, but you know what many liked it so you fellas are left on a island lol.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 3:37 PM
I felt more for uncle Ben being murdered then raimis version.

@pending reboots are always compared to the original films prior. Man of Steel gets compared to Superman Returns. Sony are working with Marvel so spidey is in good hands with Webb. The detractors will convert after spidey 2 is released. Guranteed!! ;)
neonrehan - 3/21/2014, 6:42 PM
@anno

if you provide detailed examples on your negative claims (citing from TASM-1) and then give a supporting claim of a movie that offers to demonstrate "heart" in specific character scenes - then I would like to debate you.

I disagree with you and believe the TASM story had heart.
Chloefornication - 3/21/2014, 10:06 PM
No one thought it was possible to make such a lame film based on such an amazing character like Spider-Man. Sony proved us wrong.
loki668 - 3/21/2014, 11:30 PM
Okay, each of you return to a neutral corner and prepare to some out swinging!!

*grabs popcorn*

[frick] you
Spock0Clock - 3/22/2014, 12:52 AM
What the hell do you people mean by "heart"? TASM had its problems (primarily relating to the Lizard), but the emotional and personal sides of Peter, May, Ben, Gwen, and Cpt. Stacy were all pretty spectacular in my opinion.

Or is this just more bullshit about the circumstances of the movie's production?
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/22/2014, 6:39 AM
@dorsk188 you get it.
B4TM4N - 3/22/2014, 6:41 AM
Change Andrew Garfield, the guys sh.it. His acting is crap and turned Peter Parker into an ass. Recast the fuc.ker.
