We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 features:
Director: Marc Webb
Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy
Jamie Foxx as Max Dillon/Electro
Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn
Sally Field as May Parker
Campbell Scott as Richard Parker
Embeth Davidtz as Mary Parker
Colm Feore as Donald Menken
Paul Giamatti as Aleksei Sytsevich/The Rhino
Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn
Marton Csokas as Dr.Kafka
B.J. Novak as Alistair Smythe
Martin Sheen as Ben Parker
Chris Zylka as Flash Thompson
Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy
Felicity Jones in an Felicia

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.

WOW HE'S PRETTY MESSED UP
MrMartinMarvel - 4/23/2014, 3:31 AM
So from what I've heard about this movie, I take it Norman isn't gonna become Green Goblin any time soon, right?
KingOnslaught - 4/23/2014, 3:33 AM
Zombie Norman
GUNSMITH - 4/23/2014, 3:35 AM
I'D LIKE TO SEE HE BECOME AN EVEN MORE TO COMIC LOOKING GOBLIN, EVERY INTERPRETATION OF THE GOBLIN HAS ALWAYS BEEN TECHY..I'D LIKE TO SEE A BORN FROM SCIENCE BUT BECOMING IT'S OWN CREATURE ENTIRELY KINDA THING.

HavocPrime - 4/23/2014, 3:35 AM
I think Norman took the cure/venom, as he has similar claw like nails and green splotches of skin like Harry did, but who knows.
LMB10 - 4/23/2014, 3:39 AM
@MrMartinMarvel

Nope, no chance.
charlie2094 - 4/23/2014, 3:47 AM
Shame there won't see Norman as the Green Goblin, hopefully if Harry survives he'll return a bit more like the Goblin we know
Kyos - 4/23/2014, 3:55 AM
Emma Stone is by far my favourite part of this movie! :)
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 4:05 AM
Cooper and Dehaan nailed the Harry & Norman dynamic in the one scene they shared together.

I'm not even sure if I want Norman to become Green Goblin anymore, because Dehaan's Green Goblin was amazing!
sameoldthing - 4/23/2014, 4:09 AM
It's crazy how easily Green Goblin can be translated to film but they keep dropping the ball.
This goes for EVERY comic book character..the work is already done,the look has already been established in the books.

Movies can tweak the comic look a bit but just follow the look that made the character popular to begin with.
It that simple.
TheJester - 4/23/2014, 4:11 AM
I LIKE TO POST IN CAPS IN HOPES THAT I MIGHT GET HEARD. I AM UPSET THAT COMIC MOVIES ARE NOT REAL, LIKE THE COMICS. EVERY ACTOR SHOULD LOOK DISTORED LIKE A ROB LIEFELD DRAWING. ONLY THEN I WILL BE HAPPY THAT COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC, MAGICAL, MUTATES, MUTANTS AND ALIENS LOOK LIKE THEY DO AS THEY ARE DRWAN BY IMAGINATION AND A PENCIL. ONLY THEN I WILL BE HAPPY. OH WAIT, THEY CALL THEM CARTOONS.

Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 4:15 AM
@MrMartinMarvel

I'm not sure. I honestly don't believe Norman is dead, plus Cooper is signed on to return in TASM 3, so I wouldn't rule it out just yet.
HavocPrime - 4/23/2014, 4:19 AM
They say he dies but you never see his body. I'm thinking he faked it and then wanted to see what will happen to Harry if he took the venom, using his own son as a guinea pig is very Norman.

But that is if Norman hasn't take it already though
IMNOTU - 4/23/2014, 4:22 AM
Watched this last night. It's shit. Slow paced, action scenes are in terrible CGI, love story makes me hate both of them, Green Goblin was rushed, Electro is a pushover with no real reason for being a villain, and the ending is terrible. Honestly it makes Spider-Man 3 look like Citizen Kane. Glad I didn't waste my money on it.
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 4:23 AM
I can't wait to see more of Dane Dehaan's Green Goblin. So far, he's villain of the year, and one of the best comic book movie villains thus far. It's amazing really, because he was Green Goblin for about 10 minutes, and he's left such an impresion.

CaptainKronos - 4/23/2014, 4:25 AM
Goblin could be so awesome if done right. But his backstory needs changed. While most of the Spider-villains have iron clad origins that make sense Goblin's never has.
The mental leap from Norman Osborn getting enhanced strength to dressing like a Goblin has never been adequately laid out and really can't. A film could reimagine the character and maybe give him more edge than just some jackass 40+ year old in a child's Halloween costume.

Goblin might work best with an origin ripped from old horror books and movies with Osborn literally transforming into a Goblin. Maybe a family curse. An entity that takes over Osborn. And if the Goblin I.D. were passed to Harry it could be the Goblin spirit jumping ship after Norman is killed. Which is essentially the same thing only without tecno babble, costumes and serums.
CaptainKronos - 4/23/2014, 4:27 AM
@BatManiac If Willem Dafoe were younger and played the Goblin w/out a mask it would've been the same really.
staypuffed - 4/23/2014, 4:31 AM
Emma looks stunning.
Great movie.
McNyagano - 4/23/2014, 4:36 AM
Harry was good as the Goblin but his motivations were confusing as hell. Best CBM villain this year so far is the Winter Soldier.
GrimFeature - 4/23/2014, 4:44 AM
I thought this movie was amazing myself. I don't quite understand all the negativity people have been giving it. I found it to be spectacular. Action, drama, comedy were well balanced in my opinion. Definitely far greater than the first one. Garfield makes a great Spidey. Hope anyone reading this who hasn't seen it feels better about seeing it now. Can't wait for the third outing.
Starkasm - 4/23/2014, 4:44 AM
@mcny

Agreed. Both villains in ASM2 were pretty simplistic, but because they were done so well you kind of don't mind. I loved ASM2 but cbm of the year so far is definitely CA:TWS.
Overall, happy though as both Spidey and Cap are in my top 3 favorite heroes.
Klone - 4/23/2014, 4:44 AM
@Dark

Lol.
Starkasm - 4/23/2014, 4:45 AM
CA:TWS 5/5
TASM2 4/5
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 4:56 AM
I don't think Harry's motives were confusing at all. He was dying, and was desperate to save his life, and he did so, but at the cost of his sanity.
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 5:00 AM
I loved The Winter Soldier, but for me, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the best comic book movie of the year so far, and one of my favourite comic book movies, period.
randallstevens - 4/23/2014, 5:04 AM
In a perfect world Marvel could get the rights back to Spiderman and do his world justice and add him to the Marvel film universe. I like what they have done with the suit at least in Raimi's versions the CGI Spiderman looked so much like a cartoon to me. There needs to be a real Professor X to control the world (including me)to stop spending money on lost Marvel properties so they would become unprofitable and rights could revert back to Marvel.
GenerationX - 4/23/2014, 5:04 AM
Only 6 of them are stills from the movie. Thenother 2 are BTS shots
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 5:05 AM
Between Maguire, Dunst and Franco, they make the original trilogy near enough unwatchable for me. All of 3 of them were terrible, especially Tobey. I've never wanted to punch a superhero in the face as much as Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
McNyagano - 4/23/2014, 5:06 AM
@Starkasm

The suit healed Harry, why was he still after Peter's blood? lol He was more into getting revenge and completing his father's legacy. The suit healed him after he took the Spider venom. You're right, I was just too hyped up about the film. Cap 2 is better written and has better villains.
MrSotoMan - 4/23/2014, 5:12 AM
It was a great movie. Very, very surprising for me since I really disliked the first movie.

This is all I wanted to see honestly, a good Spider-Man movie. The whole idea of an origin turned me off the first time around that it just didn't let me give it a chance at all (which I tried but no avail) but this movie was miles better.

I'm happy! Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth yea yea yea!
captainireland - 4/23/2014, 5:12 AM
The Norman pic seems very out of place amongst all the Peter and Gwen photos. Cooper seemed to have potential, pity he wasn't given more to do. Peter and Gwen's relationship was definitely the movie's biggest strength.

Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 5:12 AM
Exactly, he wanted revenge! Why is that confusing? I mean he looked like shit, and his life was ruined, so why wouldn't he want revenge? The way he sees it, if Spider-Man helped him, he would of been okay.

It's only when he realizes who Spider-Man is, it becomes personal. An eye for an eye, you know?
yowsaman - 4/23/2014, 5:18 AM
well i had mixed feelings about this movie:

SPOILERS!

i was really stretched out to much the relationship between gwenn en peter... come on.. how many times can you brake up and come back together. it was to forced everytime. alltough they did there best to hide it.

jamie foxx was cool. i really like his acting. electro was really cool when he turned into electro

green goblin... well i dont know. he turned bad to quickly for me. wy not wait with that for Spiderman 3? i had a small spiderman 3 (with tobey) vibe with this movie at the end.

rhino was the coolest in my eye's and he only showed up for the last 2 min. that cgi with the suit was really cool!

the action was pretty amazing in this one when they finaly goth to it. even in 3D. the webslining in slomo is a pretty cool gimmick.
Batmaniac - 4/23/2014, 5:18 AM
There was a natural progression of Harry losing his mind throughout the movie. In the beginning, he was joking about Lizard men and Spider-Man, but towards the end, he was obsessed with the cross species genetics so he could save his life.

Remember, this is the guy that was [frick]ing around with French models in his teenage years, and now he looks like the ultimate meth addict. If that isn't enough to send you loopy, I don't know what is.
Kyos - 4/23/2014, 5:20 AM
Well, yeah, Harry was going to die from the Osborn curse at some point, but I'm not sure if I'd agree he "was dying", seeing how his father apparantly lived for dozens of years with the illness. He got the news that he was afflicted, made one attempt at finding a solution and after that he went off the rails.

I really wish the character had been introduced in some way in the first movie. :(
Klone - 4/23/2014, 5:49 AM
@BatManiac

Though I am unlikely to share your sentiments for this film, doesn't Harry's entire motivation bring up the issue of Peter being a complete [foo foo] for not helping his best friend? I know why he doesn't what to, cause of side effects and blah blah, but still!? Or is the scene handled in such a way where he doesn't come across as the Amazing Spider-[foo foo].
Klone - 4/23/2014, 5:55 AM
@Ramon

Do you honestly think they will actually cast 16-17 year old actors around the time of inevitable 3rd reboot?
Comicbookguy543 - 4/23/2014, 5:55 AM
I remember reading a while back something about Normans head being kept in a containment unit, I can confirm that doesn't appear in the film....maybe it was cut but it did sound quite far fetched anyway!
SpideyQuad - 4/23/2014, 5:56 AM
What in the world is a (foo foo)?
MrSotoMan - 4/23/2014, 5:58 AM
@Comicbookguy543- When I saw the rough cut months back, they showed the scene with the head.

I guess they cut it, because the website already had revealed it, other than that I do remember that scene and maybe the US version could have it in the coming weeks. Who knows?
