Two New "Alice in Wonderland" Movie Posters Released!

Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" keeps looking better and better all the time.
I was not going to make an article out of this till I remembered that I was the first Editor on CBM to post an article about Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" film. I said to myself "Self, this poster looks trippy as hell", and that is the theme here folks. I have been reporting all along that Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" is going to be a trippy movie and these new movie posters will proove that I am correct!

I have to say, pretty sweet stuff. This film will be a eye candy fest to watch in IMAX 3D at the Portage IMAX Theater in Portage IN that you don't want to miss!!! Can't wait!!

ok, now thats off my chest, really looking forward to this movie. I like how dark and twisted it looks.
WarNoodle - 11/11/2009, 2:52 PM
JM @ Seen the first one, but the second one looks cool!

LEEE777 - 11/11/2009, 2:53 PM
WOW... these are cool!

I can't wait for the movie... my only question is who is the WHITE QUEEN that Anne Hathaway is playing???
SoratheKey - 11/11/2009, 2:53 PM
gonna be awesome.....can spot a tim burton film a mile off eh
R3Animator - 11/11/2009, 2:53 PM
I just hope they don't ruin the movie. Even with modern special effects, some movies are better left as they were.
W8I8Z - 11/11/2009, 2:54 PM
WarNoodle @ You [frick]ing FISTER!!!

: D
LEEE777 - 11/11/2009, 2:55 PM
Oh,... now you take the FIRST off lol!! ; D
LEEE777 - 11/11/2009, 2:57 PM
Ugh, I'm not a fan of any of Tim Burton's stuff so I have no desire to see this anytime soom! :p
JoshW - 11/11/2009, 3:16 PM
Seriously No Burton movie? Batman? Ed Wood? I though those 2 at least were pretty definitively classic movies. Personally the only ones I don't care for are Planet Of The Apes and Mars Attacks.
RorMachine - 11/11/2009, 3:25 PM
i'm over Tim Burton, his movies stopped being unique and original after about the 100th dark and "artistic" one. As if Alice in Wonderland wasn't already a [frick]ed up story you have to add Tim Burton into it.

I mean honestly these posters are just laughable, all they are is trying to show off how Tim Burtony this movie is going to be. Just look at the Queen of Hearts and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum! Was it really necessary to make them all deformed and freaky looking? You can't take this movie seriously.
Crazyhorrormovienerd - 11/11/2009, 3:25 PM
Burton's stuff ha been a more of a miss lately. I agree with Ror. Charlie and the Choco Factory was horrid. Mars Attacks wasn't bad. I love Nightmare Before Christmas.
SirPrize - 11/11/2009, 3:40 PM
looks cool, however I agree with the last four comment makers in that I am just not much of a Burton fan. I like Sleepy Hollow, Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas... but you can really just keep the rest. I remember when Big Fish came out, practically everybody I know was freaking out about it and I was just like...meh
DarthMulder - 11/11/2009, 4:07 PM
Seen all of his flicks except NBC, Corpse Bride and Chocalte Factory...tried to watch them and couldn't get more than 15 mins into any. Heck Batman and Beetlejuice are the only two I'd even bother to watch again. IMO a highly overrated director.
juggy4711 - 11/11/2009, 4:15 PM
Pee Wee's Big Adventure was where he hit his high note.
Skyh00k - 11/11/2009, 4:36 PM
Depends on what your into. When did Burton ever claim he was trying to be "Unique" or "original"? He makes movies. His movies have a certain style. You either like it or you don't. I like it.
RorMachine - 11/11/2009, 4:40 PM
I agree with Burton being on the down turn.

This looks promising. But Planet of the Apes was by far his worst. That ending was absolute shit.

So bad you shouldn't touch it.

BillyBlack - 11/11/2009, 4:42 PM
I have to agree with ROR, just look at GUY RITCHIE or TARANTINO. Both those guys have a unique style to their films. I don't think that BURTON is trying to be anything but himself. It's just the way he sees it.
Talontd - 11/11/2009, 5:03 PM
kool
FrankCastle1 - 11/11/2009, 5:09 PM
looks like a mind trip.
MsKyle08 - 11/11/2009, 5:15 PM
@Rorschach01- I know he hasn't but almost anybody I talk to about him says how brilliant, unique, and original he is. Don't get me wrong i love many of his movies like Batman, Ed Wood, and hell even Mars Attacks is alright, but he's kinda starting to become a parody of himself. Whenever I hear about a new movie he's making i think "Hmm could it be a dark movie featuring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter?"...and then they release the posters and trailers and it turns out i'm right. What a shock.
Crazyhorrormovienerd - 11/11/2009, 5:34 PM
YOU KNOW WHEN YOU SEE A DIRECTOR AND WISH, "DANG I WISH HE DID SUCH AN SUCH A MOVIE"...BURTON DOING ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS WISH FULLFILMENT..
GUNSMITH - 11/11/2009, 6:20 PM
I have been a moderate fan of TB. Beetlejuice, Batman, ... ..beyond that I see a one trick pony. I tire of his style of spiral tree branches, sunken in dark eye sockets, and Danny Elfman scores.
markyd21 - 11/11/2009, 6:35 PM
In the second poster it looks like Tim Burton put the tree of the dead in the background from Sleepy Hollow. Perhaps the Headless Horseman has a cameo.
symbiote - 11/11/2009, 7:12 PM
I LOVE Tim Burton's work. Have been a fan of his since "Edward Scissorhands" back 1990 (can't go wrong with a Vincent Price film). Must see more of Burton's movies!
Magicfingers - 11/11/2009, 7:51 PM
@ Lee - well. I never been first before. So I had to do it at some point... I figure even you did it at some time right? but! I have placed it back up there just for you... ;)
WarNoodle - 11/11/2009, 8:11 PM
I personally am a very big Burton fan.

Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favorite movies.

Batman '89 is also a total classic movie IMO, as is Edward Scissorhands.

I am personally looking forward to this movie.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/11/2009, 8:23 PM
i am not a fan of burton...his batman and ed scissorhands was decent...but his fetish for bonham carter and john depp kinda freaks me out....but his other works arent all that IMO...i despise esp his willy wonka!!!
i hope this film comes good but i aint lookin to it with glee
Anil Rickly - 11/11/2009, 8:29 PM
man. looks like its going to be another Charlie and the chocolate factory- messed up. Willy wonka shouldve never been touched and I am thinking the same with Alice in wonderland... =(

misterunderhill: "i won't have to wait long for the dvd...;P" haha :D

KeepItReal - 11/11/2009, 9:02 PM
I must correct myself, but I was a fan of Tim Burton's work for much longer then originally stated. I almost hate to say it... but I've been a fan of his since I first saw "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" (made in 1985). SAD.
@InTylerWeTrust82- Yes, Batman & Nightmare Before Christmas were great films. Beetle Juice has to be one of my all time favourites.
Magicfingers - 11/11/2009, 9:31 PM
@Anil: He has a kid with Bonham Carter and he smokes pot with Depp. Burton's really a love him or hate him kind of guy.
@KeepItReal: The Gene Wilder version of chocolate factory is perfection. Didn't like that remake.

Burton has had hits and misses. IMO there have been more hits. For me, he goes to extremes. The hits are amazing and the misses are horrible. (I'm talking to you Planet of the Apes.)
Upupandaway - 11/11/2009, 9:32 PM
Upupandaway: I agree. The Gene Wilder version was perfection and I was really upset with the remake. Depp made it creepy and weird. I didnt care for it at all.

Its true burton is a love/hate him type of guy. I do love his movie of Beetlejuice to be fair. HATED the nightmare before xmas though and charlie and the chocolate factory.
KeepItReal - 11/11/2009, 9:38 PM
This looks to be shaping up to be a fun film. Burton is due for a good film. This may be it.
WeaponX - 11/11/2009, 9:56 PM
Man, this movie looks absolutely halucinogenic!

It looks like Burton has been hittin' that doobie
a little hard with Johnny and sampling some silly-
shrooms too! lol

But I still like most of Burton's movies, especially
Batman, Beetlejuice, and A Nightmare Before Christmas!
DDD - 11/11/2009, 9:57 PM
@DDD: There is no movie. They just hand you acid at the door! :)
Upupandaway - 11/11/2009, 9:59 PM
@Upupandaway - LOL.
WarNoodle - 11/11/2009, 10:44 PM
Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!
Rokrad - 11/11/2009, 10:49 PM
The white queen is from the sequel alice in wonderland, which is chess themed instead of cards.
thwhtGuardian - 11/11/2009, 10:50 PM
Haha cool.. I'd be so scared if my cat had a smile like that
Imran - 11/11/2009, 11:21 PM
WarNoodle @ Lmao!!!!

Kudos buddy!! ; D
LEEE777 - 11/12/2009, 1:27 AM
Beetlejuice
Edward Scissorshands
Pee Wee's Big Adventure
Nightmare Before Christmas
Ed Wood
Sleepy Hollow
Batman '89 - "what are you?" "I'm Batman"

The above are Burton movies I like. Mars Aattcks is okay. But I listed the movies I actually own.
SirPrize - 11/12/2009, 3:45 AM
Found this and thought it was pretty good cinematography.

SirPrize - 11/12/2009, 3:45 AM
Gene Wilders Version was less like the book ....in fact it was a very waterd down version...i prefered Burtons more faithful take on Charlie....anyway that being said i love Burtons movies but this im not so keen on.

Now one i am is Dark Shaddows.......he's supposed to be making that so hurry up :)
teabag - 11/12/2009, 8:11 AM
Word! This movie is looking promising, and SirPrize, I couldn't agree more, but I loved "Mars Attacks!", I thought it was hilarious. I do agree, "Planet of the Apes" sucked terribly, could have been awesome, but the casting was absolutely terrible, along with the f^cked up ending. The original was a classic and still to this day kicks ass. God damn, dirty apes! Also, "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory" was terrible, yeah it might have been closer to the material, but the music was shit. It didn't have that iconic feel, it was empty. And the one midget playing all the Umpas is a cop out and bull shit.

"The Hunt for Gollum" was actually pretty decent, haven't watched the whole thing because my internet blows at the apartment, but from what I can tell it's very well done.

Stumblin - 11/12/2009, 8:12 AM
@Sora, this movie combine elements from "Alice in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" in which the world is a giant chessboard, that's where Anne Hathaway's White Queen comes from and I believe Helena Bonham Carter's character is probably an amalgamation of Wonderland's Queen of Hearts and Looking Glass' Red Queen of the chess board. Hope this helps!
ComicChic - 11/12/2009, 8:43 AM
Stumblin - Planet of the Apes, grrrrr I was so excited to watch this movie. Burton plus apes and it fell short. The sets for this movie had a 'play-set' kinda feel. That midget is Deep Roy, he's in a lot of films lately. Hope you get somewhere to watch that clip. It's not bad but I bet it was fun to make it.

ComicChic - Hola! Hot Stuff.
SirPrize - 11/12/2009, 8:56 AM
I've seen the trailer a million time its gonna be awesome Johnny is funny as hell. latz. Kool posters
ragdoll03289 - 11/12/2009, 9:04 AM
Wonka wasn't that bad! I found some parts funny, interesting..it kept me entertained anyway...No redemption for Apes, what a [frick]ing brain fart. Loved Sweeny Todd too, sick movie.
RorMachine - 11/12/2009, 1:08 PM
It does have a combination of the characters from both movies, however burton has stated that it's a totally original story that just has the same characters. Who knows what that means though.
thwhtGuardian - 11/12/2009, 3:05 PM
I can't wait!!!!!!!!
legder20 - 11/14/2009, 2:43 PM
@thwhtGuardian- It supposed to be original and so far my closest guess I think is this being a "What if". As in

"What if Alice never fell down the rabbit hole and through the looking glass(even though she was supposed to)and is only now, several years overdue, and is literally late. So that the characters and worlds of both have merged and are older to reflect her mental age."
