UPDATE: First Official Teaser Trailer For PROMETHEUS Hits

Even though it was supposed to be released later today, the first trailer for Ridley Scott's sci-fi epic Prometheus, starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender has just been revealed. Updated with official HD trailer!

Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Um, THAT WAS AWESOME.

I gotta re-watch Alien. I didn't really like it the first time because it was to much of a haunted house movie. AlienS is my preferred film, but maybe I would like the first one more now, if I went into it with the right state of mind.

What they need to do is follow this one up with a sequel directed by James Cameron, am I right?!?

Spacecraft looks great! And the technology doesn't look too cheesy which was my biggest concern. In the wise words of NPH, "It'll be LEGENDARY!!"

l think that is the spacecraft that was in Alien at the end, perhaps that is the link to alien but that trailer is just intense, sets the tone straightaway.

Also at 26 sec of the trailer one of the crew has a new form of facehugger attached to their face and at 39 secs you see a quick glimpse of the space jockey in the seat just like in alien so the link to alien is right there for everyone to see

I prefer Alien to Aliens. Aliens was a better action movie, and it was pretty intense no doubt..but Alien was genuinely frightening I think. Plus I really didn't care too much about most of the marines, whereas the crew of the Nostromo were proper, well rounded characters that you really wanted to live.

Holy shit Guy Pearce is in this? Sweet! This movie is going to be sick.

I just hate that Inception horn thing in every trailer nowadays. Annoying as hell.

Visually stunning. Production values look to be through the roof from those short clips. Hate to even say this but...

This looks pretty awesome, I'm in. Love it when something ORIGINAL comes out, which is what this is looking to be so far (despite tying in to Alien, but from everything we've heard I don't think they'll be related by much).
@NeoBaggins, the movie is four months from release, how do you know what production level it needed? Wait until these movies come out before bashing them and arguing which is going to be best, people.
