After british singer Adele won a Golden Globe, Brit Award and an Academy Award for the theme song of the 23rd Bond movie, Skyfall, it would come as no surprise that the Bond producers would want her back. Well, The Sun is reporting that Adele has signed with the franchise producers to perform the theme song for the next secret agent movie and "they hope she’ll go on to match 007 queen Dame Shirley Bassey." Shirley Bassey is the responsible for several Bond famous themes, such as Diamonds Are Forever, Mooraker and Goldfinger. According to sources of the site, "producers are thrilled by how well the song has been received and hope Adele’s presence on the next film will replicate that success" and "they want her to become as synonymous with Bond as Dame Shirley". As for right now, take this with a grain of salt, as an official statement from the Bond production has yet to be made.

Daniel Craig is back as James Bond 007 in Skyfall, the 23rd adventure in the longest-running film franchise of all time. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Pretty cool. I thought her song for Skyfall was great
95 - 3/3/2013, 12:55 PM
Did anyone else do it twice?
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 12:56 PM
Not surprising but since this comes from the Sun (there retarded) so it might be best to take this as a rumor.
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 12:57 PM
@95 Shirley Bassey did more than twice. 3 times in total.
SuperDude001 - 3/3/2013, 12:59 PM
Although it is very possible that this is true, she did create one of the biggest songs this year and maybe one Bond song that will be remembered for decades, but on stories like this I always follow my rule...
NEVER EVER BELIEVE A STORY FROM 'THE SUN'.

Does no one remember they were the ones that said it was a definite thing that Eddie Murphy was gonna play the Riddler and Cher was gonna play Catwoman in the third Nolan Batman film?
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:01 PM
@SuperDude mate don't remind me like I said there run by a bunch of [frick]ing idiots.
SuperDude001 - 3/3/2013, 1:05 PM
Hellsing @ I know, although to be honest any British newspaper is never that reliable for CBM news. I'm not saying our whole media isn't, we have great websites and magazines and stuff, just all our newspapers are morons for CBM news as they just try and start crap rumours to get attention.
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:30 PM
@SuperDude I agree with you completely anything under Murdochs control in my opinion should be ignore completely. They want more readers I guess geekdom is the "it" target group at the moment.
Spideyguy94 - 3/3/2013, 1:30 PM
Wouldn't believe a word coming from the scum. Absolute horrid newspaper.
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:30 PM
I guess it has been the "it" group for awhile now.
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:32 PM
Can't wait to see the rumors they publish about Avengers 2 and Episode 7. Ricky Gervais to play Luke Skywalkers son!!! yup I can see that happening.
LucasMend - 3/3/2013, 1:32 PM

PantherX - 3/3/2013, 1:34 PM
The Sun. Really?
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:35 PM
@LucasMend That tribute vid to Bond is [frick]ing amazing better, this makes appreciate bond the tribute vid used in the oscars was an editing travesty. It had me so whelmed.
LucasMend - 3/3/2013, 1:37 PM
@Hellsing, if only we internet video editors got any recognition ):
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:38 PM
Out of all the rumors they've published this is probably the only that MIGHT be plausible.
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:38 PM
@LucasMend totally agree with you mate.
Jollem - 3/3/2013, 1:42 PM
you know my name [alligator mouth to the left] skyfall
Nomis1800 - 3/3/2013, 1:43 PM
I'd rather see someone else doing the 24th but it will be nice if she'd return after that or something.
LucasMend - 3/3/2013, 1:45 PM
If only we had a Bond theme by Johnny Cash. but too late now huh ):
Hellsing - 3/3/2013, 1:47 PM
This might be crazy and slightly out there but I like the idea of Peter Gabriel getting a shot at 24th bond film.
NebulaFields - 3/3/2013, 1:51 PM
If true, incredibly smart move. She did a amazing job and that's understated.
IIIAdamantiumIII - 3/3/2013, 2:00 PM
shouldn't she have enough money for a treadmill by now ?
LucasMend - 3/3/2013, 2:02 PM
@grif well they did so great because THEY WERE [frick]ING GREAT, but the most important thing is to have Roger Deakins back.
Silentman - 3/3/2013, 2:04 PM
I don't mind Mendes coming back to direct, Terrence Young and John Glen both directed numerous Bond movies, but I always looked forward to finding out who would sing the new theme so I kind of hope it's someone different.
darkbeefstakes - 3/3/2013, 2:05 PM
[frick] no.
darkjoker1 - 3/3/2013, 2:10 PM
yes :D i loved skyfall :D one of the best bond songs and intro to a bond flim :D i hope you does makes the 24th bond song :D
GnomeSauce - 3/3/2013, 2:12 PM
Had no idea any other singer did more than a one and done for Bond songs. If the Broccoli's can get her to be synonymous w/ their franchise they would be very fortunate, indeed.
95 - 3/3/2013, 2:18 PM
Thanks @Hellsing. I know that @LucasMend mentions Bassey in the article, but I wasn't exactly sure.
AlexRival - 3/3/2013, 2:33 PM
No, as good as it was I don't want her again. That's something I really look forward to. having a new artist do it. I say either Muse or Michael Buble.
CherryBomb - 3/3/2013, 2:48 PM

I did love Skyfall and Adele is fantastic

But I'd love another artist to perform the next one.
Keep things fresh.
AnungUnRama - 3/3/2013, 2:59 PM
Give her a break. Let Micheal Buble and Lana Del Rey do the next two and then Adele can have a second one.
subzero1077 - 3/3/2013, 3:00 PM
Adele is awesome, she should definitely return.
BeanzReilly - 3/3/2013, 3:03 PM
I'd like to hear the themes take on more genres like they did with Casino and Quantum, Skyfall's was a bit too unoriginal prefer a different artist next time.
nach1wan - 3/3/2013, 3:13 PM
i doubt that this will actually happen
shadyginzo - 3/3/2013, 3:24 PM
oh, the sun said so, did they?

ffs.
gingerwarrior - 3/3/2013, 3:24 PM
Duran Duran only did View To A Kill. Are you getting them confused with A-ha (Living Daylights?
TexasTwoFace - 3/3/2013, 4:14 PM
That's cool, Skyfall is the best theme the Bond films have had in a while.
JatevinM - 3/3/2013, 5:13 PM
After the song won an Oscar I thought it was a given that they would approach get to do another one.
SamHell - 3/3/2013, 8:01 PM
I like this chick and not too bad on the eyes but I think they should get a diff person to do it for each movie.
StarkReactor - 3/3/2013, 8:51 PM
Adele's was all right, but I really liked Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" from Casino Royale. They need to keep it unique and go with someone new.
StarkReactor - 3/3/2013, 8:53 PM
@AlexRival Awesome suggestion- Muse would be perfect.
SuspenseSmith - 3/3/2013, 10:30 PM
So happy she won the oscar for original song. This was like the first time I actually cared about that category for that reason.
EarOne - 3/4/2013, 2:58 AM
i like skyfall, but i still like 'you know my name' from casino royale much better. and bassey's three bond songs are still light years away better than skyfall.

sides, sure the bond people want her to be in the same company as DAME bassey, but does adele want THAT..?? to be known for years/decades to come for doing james bond songs instead of other ones...?? i don't think so.
Canon38 - 3/4/2013, 5:33 AM
No reason she shouldn't
ACira - 3/4/2013, 6:38 AM
The Sun is so full of shit. They just make crap up and hope the rumours will stick.

I thought Adele did really well with the Skyfall theme, but I'd rather she didn't do the next one - not too keen on anyone doing two themes in a row. Plus, everything about Bond 24 sounds like they're letting the success of Skyfall dictate how they make the next one - they're bringing back literally everyone from the last film and I'm worried the next one will be too similar. I'd love for Adele to do another theme some time down the line, but I think two in a row is too soon.
monkeyhead78 - 3/4/2013, 9:43 AM
PLEASE NOOOOOOOOOO! Have to turne the TV over or the radio off every time I hear her whale calling
Sever88 - 3/4/2013, 10:29 AM
Don't get me wrong I love Adele that woman has talent. But I also think this woman here could do the next bond song and even possibly be the next bond girl she is just sex appeal.

SamHell - 3/5/2013, 9:39 PM
I was thinking the same thing...odd, right?
