CONFIRMED: There Is No New Marvel One-Shot with CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

What started as rumored way for Marvel Studios to cheaply introduce its unknown characters to audiences has now become what we know as Marvel One-Shots, which are creative short film extensions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe released as Blu-ray special features. Considering we've had new One-Shots with the home release of every Marvel Studios movie since Thor (2011), it was a surprise to see the title of a new one missing in the recent home release announcement for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Well, both Entertainment Weekly and Marvel's @AgentM, aka Ryan Penagos, have confirmed that it was no mistake and that Marvel will not be developing a One-Shot for the Joe and Anthony Russo-directed movie, which hits Blu-ray/DVD on September 9.

There is no word on why there will not be a new follow-up to Drew Pearce's fun All Hail The King One-Shot, but EW recalls Marvel executives declaring that
"they might bring a temporary halt to the One-Shots if they didn’t have a strong story idea or their full focus was needed on the feature film pipeline." It may just be the latter considering all of what has been going on with Ant-Man recently, however, that didn't come to light until last week. Anyhow, hopefully we will have another Marvel One-Shot with the eventual home release of Guardians of the Galaxy... What do you think?

Hmm, it would've be cool to see a one shot for Doctor Strange (seeing that his name was mentioned in the film) but they don't even have the casting down yet.
write33 - 5/30/2014, 8:52 AM
what, are they busy with both movies and Netflix shows??? psshh. whatever. Booooo

damn you Hydra
0megaDaGod - 5/30/2014, 8:53 AM
As the order was panning out, I'd think we were due for a Thor related one shot this time around
TheManFromMars - 5/30/2014, 8:55 AM
I hate tradition breaking.

That's like not having an after credits scene!

Not pleased.
TheAbaryMan369 - 5/30/2014, 8:55 AM
This is retarded. They've been doing them for so long, and there are many more possible storied for them! I would have loved to see one following a random Nova Corps dude. That would be a fun way to introduce them. Or a Warriors Three short would be a great way to expand their characters.

With the multitude of projects Marvel is working on I'm not surprised
0megaDaGod - 5/30/2014, 8:59 AM
Yes to a Warriors Three short

And yea, Marvel has way more on their plate right now than they did last year, but I still think they should be able to put something dope together
McGee - 5/30/2014, 9:00 AM
Never fear! JoeMamma is here!

stevengil - 5/30/2014, 9:01 AM
Maybe they were going to do an Antman one-shot and with Edgar leaving they can't get it done in time.
grif - 5/30/2014, 9:02 AM

We need a teaser instead, possibly for the Age of Ultron or even Ant-Man. BTW, JoeMomma needs a fitness trainer.

Damn. If that's true, i'm going to be bummed. I really looked forward to those. They were like my Christmas stocking when I was younger. It was the first thing I opened. There wasn't a lot of important stuff in it, but it was a lot of fun anyway.
JoJo1982 - 5/30/2014, 9:14 AM
I was expecting something asgardian related

Like Loki trying hide his identity while being king

Or the warrior 3 having suspension of their King

..... Oh well :(
CoulsonLives - 5/30/2014, 9:19 AM
BOOOOOOO!!!!

GO BACK TO THE FIRE NATION!!!!!

>_< damn you Hydra
TheFirstAvenger97 - 5/30/2014, 9:19 AM
I wanted a Hawkeye one-shot, telling us where he was.
McNyagano - 5/30/2014, 9:23 AM
Ugh

We'll probably get an early look at Age of Ultron.
GA15 - 5/30/2014, 9:28 AM
man well that a bummer.
BatManiac - 5/30/2014, 9:30 AM

Ramiel - 5/30/2014, 9:32 AM
Marvel's getting lazy as of late. This One-Shot should have involved Thor characters like Sif and the Warriors Three.
GodzillaKart - 5/30/2014, 9:32 AM
A Daredevil one shot to set up the show would be fantastic.
shangho - 5/30/2014, 9:32 AM
I'm more concerned with them fleshing out the Phase 3 properties than I am with a new one shot
GodzillaKart - 5/30/2014, 9:32 AM
Gus! Don't be so picky! I'd even take a fat chicks one shot at this point.
mmadadamm - 5/30/2014, 9:34 AM
Agents of Shield
The Agent Carter Series
The Defenders Netflix Shows

I'd trade all three of these projects for a Black Panther movie honestly
CharlesLord - 5/30/2014, 9:36 AM
maybe because D'Espisito is one of the other candidates for Ant Man and he normally directs the One Shots?
nailbiter111 - 5/30/2014, 9:37 AM
Sounds Marvel is losing focus.
Gusto - 5/30/2014, 9:37 AM
I've been known to go "hoggin'" now and again!
sKeemAn - 5/30/2014, 9:40 AM
I guess they got there hands pretty full with the Ant-Man situation.
WinterSoldier24 - 5/30/2014, 9:40 AM
Damn. Maybe they're focusing on finding the right people to replace Wright and his people. We'll see how this plays out, though.
sKeemAn - 5/30/2014, 9:42 AM
I like the one-shots. I was hoping for another good one, like All Hail the King.
