UPDATE: Scoot McNairy Nabs A 'Secret' Role In BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE

Principal photography on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is well underway in Michigan, with potentially spoiler-heavy scenes being filmed just yesterday, but a new cast member has just been revealed. According to Deadline, actor Scoot McNairy is joining the Zack Snyder-directed film in an unspecified role that "nobody at Warner Bros. will confirm." That's pretty much all the info provided for the last-minute casting, but it seems possible that McNairy could be playing an established DC character that could become pivotal in the Justice League movie, like a few other Dawn of Justice cast members. Anyhow, Batman v Superman will reteam Scoot McNairy with his Argo director and co-star Ben Affleck, and the versatile actor also had roles in 12 Years a Slave, and Marvel's Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray short film All Hail the King. What do you think?

UPDATE: Could Scoot McNairy be playing Nightwing? That is at least what Latino Review scooper El Mayimbe is insinuating via Twitter. Richard Grayson was among the first characters rumored to play a minor role in Batman v Superman before appearing full-fledged in Justice League, back when the role was linked to actor Adam Driver, who has since joined Disney's Star Wars: Episode VII. Also, Deadline's scoop has been confirmed by The Wrap, whose sources are "sworn to secrecy" regarding McNairy's role. Speculation says he's The Flash on the big-screen, but what do you think?

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter. The film, written by Chris Terrio from David S. Goyer's screenplay, and directed by Zack Snyder, hits May 6, 2016!
