Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

Smart move making Drax so literal and devoid of emotions...didn't hire Bautista for his acting chops, working with the strengths of the actors, well done Mr. Gunn!
GuardianAngel - 7/13/2014, 9:59 PM
Yay???????
TheAbaryMan369 - 7/13/2014, 10:00 PM

TheAbaryMan369 - 7/13/2014, 10:02 PM
I wanna know what Rocket says in response to Star Lord asking "You think she likes me?" I can't hear it, but this is Marvel we're talking about, so it's probably a snappy one-liner.
mgeoff88 - 7/13/2014, 10:08 PM
@TheAbaryMan Rocket responds to Star-Lord by saying, "You got issues, pal."
MrCBM56 - 7/13/2014, 10:19 PM
"I like your knife I'm keeping it"

I probably laughed way too hard but his delivery made it funny. Only a couple more weeks... I can taste the excitement. Taste like something good... Something bad... Bit 'o both.

drax being literal and just doesnt get metaphors and joke and is emotionless is great, it was his jokes kinda at the beginning of when he first appears in the preview that fell flat but as soonas u know that he is just completely literal, its awesome, he is hilarious but badass aswell
EzioKenway1225 - 7/13/2014, 10:28 PM
man,i just cant believe how well they have nailed the tone of the guardians comics, the comics are filled with humor but have their serious moments aswell and they are mixed well
mgeoff88 - 7/13/2014, 10:28 PM
Batz hit the nail on the head. We haven't been hearing much dialogue from Drax, so I was concerned Bautista wouldn't mesh well with the other actors.

It looks like he fits right in with the group though. I think that's hilarious Drax will be the butt of jokes on the team.

Love that GOTG banner there. Is that official or fan made? Looks boss and is going on my desktop.
superotherside - 7/13/2014, 10:29 PM
Love the dialogue that we've gotten so far.
TheRationalNerd - 7/13/2014, 10:35 PM
I saw it while watching The Strain, pretty meh but I'm sure the people will eat it up.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/13/2014, 10:36 PM
the way Pratt said that Feige describes Star lord is "Han Solo mixed with Marty McFly " and i can competely see it
EzioKenway1225 - 7/13/2014, 10:36 PM
TheBlacknerd-the spot or the show?
mgeoff88 - 7/13/2014, 10:36 PM
That banner is awesome!
DeusExSponge - 7/13/2014, 10:58 PM
Is Drax a character that has a lot of emotions?
loki668 - 7/13/2014, 11:01 PM
TheRationalNerd - 7/13/2014, 11:04 PM
@Esio

The spot. However the Strain is pretty cool! I might start watching for sure.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/13/2014, 11:07 PM
DeusExSponge-no, he is very stoic and takes himself seriously but is unintentionally hilarious
JohnGazelle - 7/13/2014, 11:07 PM
MY BODY IS READY!!!!
EzioKenway1225 - 7/13/2014, 11:08 PM

Curious to see if Gunn could be ditect a starwas film.
TheRationalNerd - 7/13/2014, 11:20 PM
Ezio

Yeah, I'm still sure the film will be very enjoyable at the least. I've been avoiding tons of trailers and tv spots lately so I can be all surprised when I see it at the cinema. I think everyone is going to dig Rocket Raccoon but hopefully everyone will being something good to the table.
drfate - 7/14/2014, 12:42 AM
ha ha loki668 - *Blazing Saddles reference*
NeoBaggins - 7/14/2014, 12:43 AM
Drax seems hilarious with his clueless disposition.
SnapperCarr - 7/14/2014, 12:43 AM
Looks enjoyable.
0megaDaGod - 7/14/2014, 12:55 AM
Like what they're doin' with Drax. Tho it still feels like we're settling with Bautista. I would've preferred to get the Kratos-ish Drax from Annihilation that was a little more dignified than what we're getting with this take

It does suck that we likely won't see this

MarvelFan15 - 7/14/2014, 3:33 AM
Do not call Drax a thesaurus.
loki668 - 7/14/2014, 3:54 AM
Thesaurus Rex, maybe?
gurugeorge - 7/14/2014, 3:58 AM
@TheAbaryMan369 - it's actually "you've got issues Quill"
ATrueHero1987 - 7/14/2014, 4:56 AM
Yea, the one I saw last night focused on both Drax and Gamora.....I really hope Ronan really isn't responsible for the tragedies in their lives like the tv spot said.

A little over 2 more weeks!
Kyos - 7/14/2014, 6:05 AM
Urm, maybe it's me, but the clip I watched right now had little to no Drax in it...?! (O_o)'
ctsketch - 7/14/2014, 6:26 AM
ummm...am I watching the right clip? I see not much drax at all in that one
Kyos - 7/14/2014, 6:41 AM
Okay, it's there (again) now. :)

I really like the delivery of "I like your knife I'm keeping it", with Drax turning to walk away. Funny stuff!
MisterNiceGuy - 7/14/2014, 7:08 AM
There is something very awkward about Batista's dialogue. I don't like it. Hopefully it's just the trailer and comes off more natural in the film
Inhuman - 7/14/2014, 7:48 AM
I just read the guardians prelude that included preludes 1 & 2 and the infinite comic prelude, and it confirms that Marvel Studios does in fact have the rights to the Skrulls. Gamers was in a space port and one of the merchants were sellingt Skrulls detectors. Hopefully if there's an Inhuman film the Skrulls can be the villains..
Sunnyd - 7/14/2014, 7:49 AM
Drax being literal reminds me of Leslie Nielsen with the dead pan deliver it is just awesome.
"of course I'm serious and don't call me Shirley"

dio - 7/14/2014, 8:02 AM
This is gonna be awesome!!!
GamerKT - 7/14/2014, 8:39 AM
YES! I thought there was gonna be a shitty romance with Peter and Gamora.
Turns out, NO!
TheDarkKnightSlap - 7/14/2014, 9:02 AM
"Nothing goes over my head...I would catch it." Drax must Destroy the jokes.
