Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014

i can definitely see some David Bowie influences in him and Gunn said he wrote him as an "Outer Space Liberace" and Del Toro imo is going all out for this.. he is very mesmerizing and creepy.. The Collector is a fricking weirdo
IronAsgaardian95 - 7/18/2014, 9:12 AM

TheManFromMars - 7/18/2014, 9:18 AM
@Noobster

What about it? The fact that it has four fingers? It's probably a Springfield resident.

@TheManFromMars Haha nice reference.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/18/2014, 9:27 AM
his design, besides the Nova Corps design,is probably the most 50-60s pulp scifi-y of the film
EpitomeofAwesome - 7/18/2014, 9:30 AM
Worst part of Thor: TDW was that mid-credits scene with him
EpitomeofAwesome - 7/18/2014, 9:30 AM
Glad the movie doesn’t look like it’ll be anything like that was
TheDudeRusty - 7/18/2014, 9:30 AM

Noobster - 7/18/2014, 9:32 AM

Sitterson - 7/18/2014, 9:38 AM
Love it.
StarYeezus - 7/18/2014, 9:38 AM
Worst part of Thor:TDW was Thor:TDW.

Slightly kidding, but the GotG teaser wasn't the problem with that movie.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/18/2014, 9:38 AM
apparently The Collector runs Knowhere in this film..its his home..very interesting
Jollem - 7/18/2014, 9:42 AM
benicio was after a stone before it was cool for benicio to be after a stone

EzioKenway1225 - 7/18/2014, 9:44 AM
StarYeezus-it is imo Marvels second weakest film,IM2 being their weakest, but i think its a good film,my two big complaints are i think the human characters(besides Jane,i actually like Jane) but the other human characters are lame and unfunny and that Malekith is a very weak character..now.the humor from thor andloki is good imo.. the action is well done, but most importantly the character moments whether it be frigga and loki, thor and odin and of course, thor and loki are very well done,, the character interactions are quite good imo , scenes like the skiff scene betwen thor and loki when they are taking jane to malekith are great.. the character moments make this film go from a very average film to good..also i liked seeing how thor has come..if he was Thor from the first film.. he would have been brash and attacked headon after his mother but in this, while he was still grieveing, he has levelheaded and was trying to keep his father from being brash who was acting out of grief and anger
TragicBronson - 7/18/2014, 9:45 AM
Those goth nails.

Ok..still there is a villain poster missing..

this guy

Humperdink - 7/18/2014, 9:52 AM
@EzioKenway1225

I know. I wasn't joking.
Just looking at him you can tell.
StarYeezus - 7/18/2014, 9:56 AM
@Ezio while it did have some good things about it, I felt it was just a blah movie. Other than Loki taking the throne of Asgard (again) there was no significant effect on the status quo of the MCU. Practically no Thor development, weak villian, and unnecessary human characters (we don't need them if we can equally relate to Asgardians, they're flawed as well).

Not to say this is a bad movie, it's just the (IMO) first MCU film to actually feel like a filler episode in the grand scheme of things. It was a safe movie.
EzioKenway1225 - 7/18/2014, 9:59 AM
Staryeezus-true..it did feel the most "safe" of the phase 2 films but this film looks anything but safe imo
dellamorte1872 - 7/18/2014, 10:01 AM
Collector is a loner. He isn't serving under anyone. also SIF + VOLSTAGG gave the collector the aether at the end of THOR 2s post credits. The aether is def the reality gem the more I think of it. I know LOKI controls peoples minds in AVENGER 1 but it's gotta be the SPACE gem since the Chitauri wanted to use it as a stargate/transport and it shot RED SKULL into space. GUARDIANS will feature the power gem.
