Check out something noticed by a user from the Amazing Iron Man 2 Trailer.
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/19/2009
Thanks to user, kedrell on "Super Hero Hype" Forums, He has spotted something I didn't and probably would have ever noticed, featured in The Amazing Iron Man 2 Trailer. Check It Out.

So I guess its safe to say, that they are going with the Ultimates route for the character in The Avengers.

SPOILERS

Nick Fury is first to ask Tony to join the Avengers Initiative, but Tony denies. Since Tony doesn't want to join the Avengers, the government simply asks for the armor. After Tony Stark disagrees to turn his armor over to the Government, they go to their secret defense organization, SHIELD. One of the members of SHIELD happens to be a Russian Spy, and is ordered to go undercover as a new assistant to Tony Stark. Her job is to steal a prototype of the armor, and hand it over to the Government. The Government then hands it over to the U.S Military. Since it is just a prototype, weapons are added to the armor by weapons developer, Justin Hammer. Doing all of this, Rhodey feels that he has betrayed his friend, but it is his job. After Tony finds out that Rhodey has his own armor, first he is upset, but realizes that he wanted Rhodey to be apart of the technology in the first place. he would just have to deal with the fact that the technology is apart of the Government too. In the end, Nick Fury goes back to Tony Stark. The government has beaten Tony Stark, in getting the armor, for War Machine. So Nick once again offers The Avenger initiative.

Wow, that's a lot to deal with. Do think he'll lighten up?

cool
BlackCat1 - 12/19/2009, 3:41 PM
but....Tony went to see Ross in TIHulk and said "we're putting together a team" so Tony couldn't have declined Fury's offer.
Hawksblueyes - 12/19/2009, 3:58 PM
Black Widow is a SHIELD agent in both the regular and the Ultimate Marvel universes. This doesn't necassarilly mean they are following either particular one, as opposed to the other.
mounted88 - 12/19/2009, 4:09 PM
Blackcat@ good point indeed

Ozy@ how is mass effect treating you lol
StrangerX - 12/19/2009, 4:22 PM
Well I would take his cameo appearance in the Hulk as something happening after this movie but before the Avengers
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/19/2009, 4:33 PM
@BlackCat1 I was waiting for someone to say this. His answer indeed in The Incredible Hulk.
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:00 PM
The news is awesome, but @ StrangemanX09, I dig your avatar. I must be one of the only people I know to own the live action Masters of the Universe DVD purely for comedy reasons.
JoshWilding - 12/19/2009, 5:01 PM
Great find MarvelFreshman! I'm glad that they're going this route rather than the cliche of having her start out bad then turn good!

Guys, go check out my SUPERMAN (REBOOT) Fan Cast under "Fan Fic"!!!
Set2Fallfirst - 12/19/2009, 5:07 PM
Think he is an alcoholic in this?
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:11 PM
@ SetFallfirst, Probably it is a hard habit to break.
Colton - 12/19/2009, 5:15 PM

HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:16 PM
Yeah, and the troll thing that takes Orko's place.
StrangerX - 12/19/2009, 5:16 PM
@ House thnx
I'm not sure if they really touch on his alcholism in this movie. I really hope they get into something with Mandarin. We need a really good bad guy out there
GUNSMITH - 12/19/2009, 5:16 PM
THIS IS WHY THE ARMOR WARS HAPPENED, HIS TECH GOT OUT AND EVERY GOOFBALL WITH THE NEED FOR POWERFUL ARMOR FROM HERE TO HELL AND BACK HAS ARMOR..THIS COULD LEAD TO THE ARMOR WARS, STARK HUNTING DOWN EVERY LAST BIT OF STOLEN AND COPIED TECH HE CREATED,..BUT THIS COULD BE A GOOD THING, NOW THAT HIS ARMOR PROTOTYPE IS OUT THERE, IT ONLY PUSHES HIM TO CREATE WAY MORE SUPERIOR ARMOR...SO THIS IS BAD BUT ALSO REALLY GOOD.
GUNSMITH - 12/19/2009, 5:21 PM
I BET SHIELD WILL "COPYCAT" THE BASICS OF THE WARMACHINE ARMOR AND CREATE THE GAURDSMEN ARMOR. I THINK STARK WILL PUSH TO PROTECT HIS ARMOR SECRETS BY AGREEING TO WORK WITH SHIEILD AND SHARING HIS TECHNOLOGY, PLUS CREATE THE HELICARRIER...
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:24 PM
@ Strangmann, I believe that they should touch on it. It is apparent he can handle his liquor in the first movie when him and Rhodey are in the plane partying. It is a big part of the Iron Man character and also relevant to RDJ's life.
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:33 PM
I do agree with the Mandarin idea, but I think the are skeptical because of his mystical nature. It would be like having Clayface or Mr. Feeze in the Chris Nolan Gotham. I know that with Thor and all the Avengers set up happening, they will be crossing that line, but I believe that a story set more in the reality created in the first is an appropriate step for story advancement at this point. And yes, I know Stark was in end of the Hulk, but we are not even sure of his presence in the Avengers movie.
mounted88 - 12/19/2009, 5:33 PM
Ozy@ pretty good i only have that and left 4 dead 2, the rest of my games are on there way to iraq. Ill be there the first week of jan
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 5:36 PM
Hulk's presence that is.
ANight2Embrace - 12/19/2009, 5:41 PM
I was actually hoping for Stark Tower to be in this film. Bummer, but interesting find.
1chris2 - 12/19/2009, 5:44 PM
when are they going to start the hulk sequel, and talk to edward norton about joining the avengers?
pukulan10jurus - 12/19/2009, 5:45 PM
Well, it could be that Fury makes her change sides, didn't he do something like that on the avengers animated dvd?

@HouserepresentativeZod: Well, the rings later appeared to be alien technology. instead of magic... I think it is in line with Favreau's remark that "their version of the mandarin allows them to... blabla"
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 6:01 PM
@pukulan, true, good point. My Iron Man comic lore is rusty. Either way I am still really curious about how they are going to incorporate Asgard into the world created Favreau. Captain America, Shield, and Hulk I can easily see through technological explanations. But the god of Thuder, although badass, will need some creative and inventive writing. The script is apparently badass, so it is just a matter of time before we find out.
HouserepresentativeZod - 12/19/2009, 6:02 PM
Dude, I am totally typing like Supermike tonight. haha.
Well, maybe not that bad.
Fartman - 12/19/2009, 6:14 PM
maybe ur getting a little ahead of yourself dude....how are u so sure thats the storyline
Ryden - 12/19/2009, 6:26 PM
Hmm interesting find.
SciFiNut - 12/19/2009, 6:32 PM
Its not made clear at what point in the timeline THE INCREDIBLE HULK takes place in relation to Iron Man 2. For all we know, that little meeting at the bar could've taken place after IRON MAN 2. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the movie... Who knows. The timeline could be IM1, IM2, HULK, THOR, CAP, then AVENGERS.
flames809 - 12/19/2009, 6:43 PM
y ppl complaning that they went the unlimited root

and do great find
Ugh - 12/19/2009, 6:50 PM
Thor in a Iron Man's universe is not a case of square peg-round hole. Its not that tremendous a leap of faith to accept a world with both mystical and technological elements in it. Its a concept thats based off a comic book after all. As for Hulk, Stark never said Avengers. Stark's tech was used by Ross, so who's to say that he doesn't have another weapon he could use. Think Hulk-buster cameo if they ever make a follow-up before Avengers.
jusme6 - 12/19/2009, 7:05 PM
Great find.

FWI: The movies don't necessarily happen in chronological order. The scene at the end of TIHulk may come after the... wait a sec. I just read what SciFiNut said and he beet me to it.

@SciFiNut: Great minds think alike.
@1Chris: Keep your fingers crossed
GUNSMITH - 12/19/2009, 7:18 PM
THE EASTER EGGS AFTER EVERY MARVEL MOVIE LEADING UP TO AVENGERS...IT ALL HAPPENS IN NON CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER, WHEN THE ACTUAL AVENGERS MOVIE COMES, I BET THEY WILL PLAY THEM ALL AS THEY REALLY HAPPEN, IN ORDER AND IT WILL ALL MAKE SENSE
GUNSMITH - 12/19/2009, 7:30 PM
MAN SHE LOOKS GOOD WITH RED HAIR.
LEEE777 - 12/19/2009, 7:38 PM
Uh wtf??? I thought she was a SHIELD agent anyway months ago????

WTF, this ain't news! : D
Ryden - 12/19/2009, 7:58 PM
@flames- It's because Ultimate sucks balls man,Ultimate not unlimited dude ;)
RockNRollCC - 12/19/2009, 8:03 PM
mabye the events of the incredible hulk were set AFTER iron man 2, because in the comic con trailer for it, Tony does say "i dont want to be a part of your super secret boy band" after fury tells him to exit the giant donut. then in the incredible hulk, he does say "what if i told u we were putting a team together."

so it has to be AFTER IM2, or mabye the time period wen Hulk faught Abom-wen tony told stark overlapped iron man 2 (incredible hulk happens after IM, but the events wen bruce is in canada happen after IM2?) idk

dancingmonkey08 - 12/19/2009, 8:42 PM
Nicely spotted with the SHIELD symbol. I wouldnt have seen it in a million years. Makes things a lot clearer now, as long as Black Widow is more like the regular Black Widow and less of the traitorous bitch from the Ultimates who killed Jarvis, then things will be alright
deathmetalbrian - 12/19/2009, 8:44 PM
Abuse Alert! - Annoying Wanker (1)
yeah, the hulk cameo thing is bothering me now too, i'm sure it will be explained though.
brazilianbatman - 12/19/2009, 9:26 PM
torched4 @ i think all the iron man triology will be set before hulk, incredible hulk is probably one of the last movies before the avengers, i would say captain american the frist avenger too
brazilianbatman - 12/19/2009, 9:28 PM
icrediblke hulk is definetly after iron man 2, and iron man 3 i bet
flames809 - 12/19/2009, 9:44 PM
ryden- yea forgot how u spell it
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/19/2009, 9:59 PM
NO. I would be upset if Iron Man 3's timeline is before Incredible Hulk because that would mean the timeline is before The Avengers.
juggy4711 - 12/19/2009, 10:54 PM
Hulk IM2 discrepencies are more likey do to some one not paying attention to the continuity. But I hope they explain it as the cameo at the end of Hulk happening after IM2. Otherwise its just that the ball was dropped.
shibazz - 12/20/2009, 1:13 AM
If you look closely just past the red hair... you can see an imprint of a vag on her lips.... Guess who's makin a special appearance in IM2?! I would lick her till there was no leather left on her body!
shibazz - 12/20/2009, 1:21 AM

australiancomicbookmoviefan - 12/20/2009, 7:06 AM
Hi all

I'm fairly new here and I have read comments posted to this story which has made me think about where this is all going.

1. I believe that as has been mention on this story's posting and on another, that IM and IM2 happen before TIH, simply because of the comic con footage showed Tony saying to Fury I do not want to join a superhero boy band, but then in the end of TIH we see him talking to Gen. Ross about getting that "boy band" (j/k) together

2. As much as Australian that I am, and growing up in the same state of the country as Sam Worthington, and how much sense of pride I would have in seeing a boy from "the sticks" be the Ultimate Superhero, I do believe having an American play the Captain America is the right thing, sure if a suitable actor isnt found and all exhaustive efforts have come to naught then fine I'm all for it, but to see no real brotherhood and well lack for a better term "patriotic pride" shown where most of you guys say give it to Worthington, makes me a little sad.

3. Who should direct the Avengers movie? this is a question that needs an answer pronto, because really, this event is not far away when you consider getting all the material, and all the story elemnts from IM IM2, TIH, and Thor all together tieing in those elements and ensuring a seemless transition \, maybe I'm wrong, who knows. The answer I believe is give it to James Cameron. The man know mythos, can direct a big movie and sure he is arrogant and mean, but we'll get a great film, and we'll all love it. Sure maybe give it to Favreau as he has directed 2 all the set up films already, but i just think it would be a great opportunity to do something really awesome.

4. Last point i wanna make is that having only just found this site, I enjoy the congenial and communal nature of this site, and while most here agree on matter pertaining to superheroes, if there is a difference of opinion, at least the matter is discussed in a nice and appropriate way, and not have one's ego get in the way like on other sites.

Regards

Aussie

Lmfao @ SHIBAZZ!!! ; D
jjmeylar - 12/20/2009, 8:07 AM
@brazilianbatman It's not after Iron Man 3. "We're putting" not "We've put".

Also, I don't see an emblem or anything on her costume.
