More Iron Man 2 Hints at Collapsible Briefcase Armor

Here are all the hints of there being a collapsible briefcase armor in Iron Man 2. Check It Out!

All of the Iron Man 2's armors of Iron Man, has already been revealed in pics, toys, and even the trailer. We have seen the actual armors of the Mk4, and the Mk6 (triangular chest piece). But the one Marvel is trying to keep a secret, is Mk5.

They aren't trying to keep the actual armor a secret, but what it is capable of.
We believe that the Mk5, is the only armor capable of collapsing into a briefcase. This small assumption started when ET had a set visit, and we saw the actual briefcase being thrown out by Pepper Potts, to hand to Tony, to take out Whiplash. It was first reported by Screenrant.

Here is the interview, featuring the footage of the breifcase.

And here is a screencap:

Robert Downey Jr. says,
"The car gets cut in half and then in half again. This is where he meets his nemesis, and this big kind of action sequence UNFOLDS on the track…"

Did you catch that, "unfolds". Could he be hinting at the breifcase unfolding into the Mk5.

In the pic below from the Racetrack scene, do you think the breifcase could be what Tony is holding in his hand. And a peice of the car ripped in half, right below it?

NEXT you may want to know what the Mk4 armor looks like. There are only Toy versions, but its pretty clear how close it could be to the actual armor. To me, it actually looks like the ruffels of the armor collapse down. Don't you think?

Cool, huh? Now check out what's in Happy Hogan's hand, from the Iron Man 2 minimate toy collection. Look directly behind the Mk4's right foot.

That's the suitcase right?

LAST The most recent hint reveals what is being called, Whiplash Showdown from MegaBloks. It is a set of toy peices featuring Whiplash, Iron Man, and War Machine. Here are the pics

With these images, we can safely say there will be a showdown indeed between Iron Man's Mk5 & Whiplash. In the last image, you can see the breifcase, again, right beside the Mk5.

MarvelFreshman:Well there you have it. I'm kinda upset we figured this out, now I won't be fully surprised when it actaully happens. All in all, this was a great way to refer to the comics. Wow, its almost like this film will be too perfect.

Special thanks to Screenrant, and user, RealIrOnMaN from SuperHeroHype Forums. They both contributed to parts of this assumption. I came up with the theory myself as well. They added more facts to the assumtion though.

I've entertained the brief case idea since the minimates were first shown, the odd red suite case just seemed to cool not to be a suite. I just hope it looks cool on screen.
great finds to back it up marvelfreshman!
thwhtGuardian - 2/6/2010, 12:35 AM
too perfect?!

impossible
SGA - 2/6/2010, 12:41 AM
And what Whip Lash is Riding in the Toy may actually be the the "upgraded armor" he is supposed to have... perhaps?
IvanKW - 2/6/2010, 1:15 AM
Thanks man)Great news)

I told everyone on SHS forums about Mark V back in the december (had a proof picture), but no one would believe in this possibility, but now - it is official! The armor will be in the movie)
RealIrOnMaN - 2/6/2010, 1:55 AM

Charged4ever - 2/6/2010, 2:03 AM
Oh very well thought freshman@
MisterFixit - 2/6/2010, 2:19 AM
Dude great find. Even if the suitcase does not turn out to be the collapsable armor (which you just convinced me that it will), this still means it holds some sort of significant value...stating te obvious I know
Relevant - 2/6/2010, 2:23 AM
And I would add that this is exactly the type of article that does not disappoint me after I've clicked on. I hate to be attracted by a title, run and read it, and discover that contains no real news and not even a good guess. Go on like this,Freshman@. You are one of the few that has really something to write.
MisterFixit - 2/6/2010, 2:28 AM
Cool I just dont like the silver on the collapisble armour should have been gold
breakUbatman - 2/6/2010, 2:28 AM
Its either a suit, or it has his gauntlets in it- why else is it Iron Man red?
DannyRand401 - 2/6/2010, 2:36 AM
that sounds...really corny. a briefcase that transforms to an armor. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTTT.
rockingrich1webb - 2/6/2010, 3:25 AM
not too hard to imagine, i have a briefcase that transforms into a shitload of paperwork!;)
FORTAPACHE - 2/6/2010, 3:44 AM
Relax, guys. They wouldn't have used it if it didn't work well on screen.
Lansdowne5 - 2/6/2010, 4:10 AM
Case closed whahahahah :P
teabag - 2/6/2010, 4:14 AM
Stop with the spoilers! Bet you guys open all your presents before christmas!
wards - 2/6/2010, 4:30 AM
rockingrich@ You're concerned about a suitcase turning into an armor being corny? We are talking about a guy who has his heart injured by a piece of shrapnel, wears a special armor and device to keep him alive, designed an original suit and armor while being held hostage by terrorists with next to nothing to work with, flies around in an special suit and fights bad guys.....and you are worried about a suitcase that turns into or contains armor?
Ranger14 - 2/6/2010, 5:35 AM
@ranger14 hahahahahaha I was thinking the same thing broseph

@misterfixit. So true man. This site has a lot of articles like that (I'm
not knocking cbm because I love it-juSt saying)
Relevant - 2/6/2010, 6:01 AM
Me, I don't want the suitcase to TURN INTO the armor. I want Tony to take the armor out of the suitcase(briefcase actually). Guess I'm still stuck on the JR JR era from the 80's huh?

Hate the color scheme on the Mk IV. I know that it is tied into the West Coast Avengers era, but that red/white armor looked horrible on the page too.....
BubbaDude - 2/6/2010, 6:05 AM
forget this suitcase...i want crimson dynamo to kick stark's ass
Anil Rickly - 2/6/2010, 6:14 AM
FRESHMAN @ Great find man!

But everyones on your CAP article lol! >>>>>

; P
LEEE777 - 2/6/2010, 7:23 AM
P.S. Wish the red & silver armor was more WEST COAST AVENGERS!

Plus, yeah the suitcase thing is [frick]ing corny lol! : D
LEEE777 - 2/6/2010, 7:26 AM
and it looks like Happy's gonna get more screen time as well.
if you look at the minimates, it's Happy holding the "suit" case.
and if you look at the footage about 58 seconds in, you realize that Happy rams Whiplash while Pepper throws the case out of the car to Tony.
and of course the car gets shredded by Whiplash.
Wadey09 - 2/6/2010, 8:14 AM
Another proof of Mark V! Now, it's TOTALLY OFFICIAL!
Photobucket
RealIrOnMaN - 2/6/2010, 8:54 AM

This is going to be so cool. Hey question, I noticed that some fellow posters have a kind of splash @ the top of the page (marvel freshmen on marvel studios, etc) mine just says comicbookmovie.com contributor. How can I change that?
Cagefighter2099 - 2/6/2010, 10:35 AM
I would like to see this film beat The Dark Knight records.
airbeyonder18 - 2/6/2010, 10:58 AM
GREAT article! It's articles like this that make this site great!
California - 2/6/2010, 10:59 AM
Didn't somebody point this out 6 months ago in the comments when that racetrack photo was first put up? Yes they did I remember it distinctly.
Acerimmer1 - 2/6/2010, 12:24 PM
@Acerimmer: Yeah -- but this is confirmation of it.
Lansdowne5 - 2/6/2010, 12:28 PM
I remember watching the cartoon as a kid and he had that briefcase. Cool then, corny now. It'd be cool in the movie if it was done right, but if it's done the way it was in the cartoon then it'll be ridiculous.
AxlKomix - 2/6/2010, 12:53 PM
Have faith in the Fav. The ratio of awesomeness in Iron Man is 50:50 Downey to Fav.

@ Teabag you just had to say that didnt you
breakUbatman - 2/6/2010, 1:18 PM
Great article MF - looking at the facts, I'd say you were most definitely right! :)
JoshW - 2/6/2010, 1:19 PM

@ ppl complaining about the suitcase being corny

theres movies about trucks that turn into giant fighting robots, but this will be corny? ...
nickkase - 2/7/2010, 10:17 AM
Great detective work. Sometimes I think you guys are TOO good at this. It's a pretty big spoiler, and next time you should probably put SPOILER in the title.

I have no problem with it.

Before we judge it, we need to know more. Hopefully they will offer some fabrication explanation like they did with the Mark II.

It does make good sense that since he admitted to being Iron Man at the close of the first movie, now he will always have to keep some major instant protection nearby. Personally, I even believe engineering like this is possible in the near future, given you have enough resources - financial and other. And Tony Stark does have those resources at his disposal.
48and2 - 2/7/2010, 3:33 PM
Thats true it is confirmation pretty much.

Also wasn't Ivan Danko the Crymson dynamo in the comic (he was in the cartoon I saw yesterday) and isn't he whiplash in the film? (who I thought wasn't even Russian)

Acerimmer1 - 2/7/2010, 5:01 PM
48and2 a spoiler tag would've been neat. I dont think fabrication process should be explained I think it should just be revealed like the Batpod
