Update: Dane Cook Auditioning for Captain America?

Actor/ comedian, Dane Cook has posted on his Twitter account that he has an audition in Captain America. Dane Cook just gave me an update on the supposed audition

According to the verified Twitter account of Dane Cook, he has slimmed down or bulked up for either Captain America, or most likely a part in the film. Knowing hi he could be joking, but you never

Update:

Not knowing if he was joking or not, I asked Dane if he really was auditoning for the role, and he replied via Twitter:

"@Marvel_Freshman r u really auditioning 4 Captain America? Dc: I did already. They might b goin young. I say go RDJr route-gimme the part!

So this could confirm that he was going in for the part of Steve Rogers, and that Marvel could have passed on him for the role.







MarvelFreshman: I...don't...know, I say if I think John Krasinski could be good, why not Dane. I can see him making the role his own, though unlike Krasinski, I have a hard time picturing him being serious. Anyhow He most likely could be talking about apart in the supporting cast. What do you think?

I can't sorry but there is no way he could pull this off when he can't even pull off any other role he has been given and that includes a damn cook in "Waiting." Hell he can't even pull off a decent standup performance anymore.

I'd say he was just joking - if not, then I have officially lost all faith in Marvel. It's bad enough they're thinking of casting a pudding faced, big nosed B-Grade actor like John Krasinski never mind this guy!

i mean it's not like they're going to just give it too him without auditioning.

i can seperate his doucheness and bad stand-up. i don't hold actors personal lives against them when i watch their movies. excpet for tom cruise.

Dear god no. I can't express how much I do not like the idea of this frat boy as Cap. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing his acting talents, he wasn't that bad in Mr. Brooks, or Dan in Real Life...I just don't plain like the guy.

if they cast Dane Cook people will be pining for the first Captain America film and the original television films...this movie is in serious trouble if this is the talent pool they're picking from...I understand unknown young television actors...what is their reasoning for looking at a unfunny hack doucheb@g comic like Cook?

The announcement is coming. Wait and see. Feige won't let fans keep waiting forever.

I believe strongly that unlike Thor, they're going to release the casting all at once. When they announce, everything is just going to be an onslaught of big and small name actors.

I find myself thinking that if Cook can really work the dark emotions area of his acting (the talent i think IS there just never given a chance) it wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. He could become the biggest thing since bread if he did it right or be run straight out of hollywood for life if he screws it up...

Just realized something: This guy and Jonas Bros are probably auditioning for small parts in the group of entertainers that put on shows for the troops. Steve Rogers is hidden in that group for awhile so it would stand to reason that's what this is, if these people are auditioning. As if Dane Cook or the Jonas Bros would play Cap himself... give me a break.

Dane Cook at least has a fan base that's loyal to him. No one knows who John is other than The Office, and even then most people haven't watched that. My only problem with Dane Cook doing the role is his voice. I don't picture Captain America sounding like that lol.
