Wilson Bethel No Longer Up For Captain America

The Captain America Long List Narrows, with actor, Wilson Bethal revealing hes out. Check It Out
Generation Kill actor Wilson Bethel was recently announced as one of the candiates up for Captain America, and now Wilson has announced on his Facebook page yesterday that he's no longer in the running for the role of Captain America. There isn't a direct source to the Facebook quote, but IGN confirms it.

"O Captain, My Captain... I am not He... Thanks for all of the love & support."

Sebastian Stan (Speculated Supporting Role, Not Cap)
Channing Tatum
Ryan Phillippe
Chris Evans
Neal Bledsoe (Canadian reading for Another part in the film)

I don't get why Mike Vogel is not Cap. He was one of the first 5 in the running, everybody is gone but him. So how come he is still in running, if they brought other actors,if he was good enough he would already be be cap, so why keep him.

This is great news.

The only official source that said Ackles was out of the running was the producers of Supernatural. If I was Ackles and I had a breakout role like this one open to me, then it would not be up to my producers.

Having said that, I want Evans for the part He was an awesome leader in Sunshine.

Robert Patterison for Bucky.. he can do a song and dance rountine while the red skull ( Hugo Weaveing) beats his sparkaly ass back to the twlight set.

I couldn't have said it better myself Talontd! Also it was a leaked statement early on about the producers of the show that said they didn't think he would be able to do it, and again it was leaked through the MTV news room which as we all know carries little to no weight. Again EVERYONE on the list has announced when they are officially out why hasn't the CW or Jensen's PR people? I hear the CW is getting blasted with hundreds of emails and letters a day and still all quiet from them. They would release an official statement saying please stop all the emails. I said it before it does no good to them to let this rumor lay like this they would have killed this rumor immediately and would have also asked Jensen to fully and once for all officially kill the rumor.

So let me get this straight I hear all these Ackles haters talk about him that he is not good enough but everyone is totally okay with the skinny girly-man Garret Hedlund?!?! lol!!! Wait...you mean the tall scrawny, scrubby, tormented mentally from being sexually molested, easy to get killed and standing shaking in every scene he did with a gun in his hand from that crappy 'Four Brothers' Marky Mark film?

Here is the bad side of Channing Tatum and Evans
Tatum- just failed pretty much with that god awful G.I.Joe and even though his success with Dear John is good he's being put right back into his 'Step Up' type roles with a 'More Adult' theme to it. Not bankable Hollywood says as a Full on leading man in an action film. Many people are saying G.I.Joe was "like having a big budget film with No Lead Actor."

Evans- hey lets face it I dig Chris he's cool and I like almost all his films, 'yes sadly even the crappy FF ones' lol! But what has Hollywood learned with Evans that he can not carry a movie on his own, he failed at the recent flick where he had powers and starred opposite Dakota Fanning and even as the Human Torch he could not draw enough for the franchise to even stick around for more then 2 films. So again he is not gonna be Cap. trust me on that.

They are all just names to throw us off the trail and do you know why, cause that is how Hollywood works! No one expected Chris Hemsworth to land Thor but he did and they threw out so many names even days before his name was officially announced they were tossing names that were supposedly still reading for the part.

Mike Vogel: (just saw him is "She's out of you League" he could barely muster up enough acting to be a bit role in this movie, but I liked him in Cloverfield but don't see them handing to him)

As far as pure acting talent gos, Hedlund out classes everyone on that list.

Comparing TV actor Jensen Ackles acting ability to Hedlund's is pretty laughable. I like Ackles, Super natural is easily the best show on the CW, but talking about raw acting talent, its Hedlund by a land slide.

Lets just say theirs a reason Hedlund is the lead in some soon to be released multi-million dollar film franchises. ALA Tron Legacy

I think they reposted by accident. I don't think Chris Evans should even be in the running at all. He is a good torch. You know that guy from Fast and the Furious? The Blonde guy he could be a good Human Torch? What do you all think about that? I don't know. Maybe he could play a good Cap. One thing though, with all these Cap rumours. It could all be just a smoke screen to try to throw us off from the real actor. Maybe they already have a no name actor. We'll see.

Ryan Phillippe= too short, good look, voice is almost there, but 5'9" and I don't think he could train without breaking= too short and a liability.

Ryan Mcpartlin= DUDE, HE WAS BORN ON JULY 3RD, ALMOST JULY 4TH, AND HE'S 6'3", PERFECT VOICE, BLUE EYES...GET HIS BUT ON A TRAINING REGIMEN AND SIGN HIM UP. NOWWW!!!!

Jensen Ackles= **pulls down his pants**"PUDDING!"= I'm sorry, but you're not a fan of the Cap if you keep suggesting this guy.

Chad Michael Murray= No, period.

Chace Crawford= JEEZEze he's obviously in his twenties.= TOO much of a pretty boy, sorry, no.

Scott Porter= dude...his shoulders are slim.= Unless you can magically broaden his shoulders another good couple of inches and build him up good...Who knows?

Mike Vogel= Not tall enough.5'9"= No, I'm sorry.

Michael Cassidy= His face is WAY off.= No-Way.

Garrett Hedlund= Right age, right height, broad shoulders, needs to work on a more determined and manly facial expression and he could have it...plus he has to really work out.= Maybe leaning towards yes. Sorry everybody else.

Wilson Bethel= Does anybody have any better pictures of this guy? Does he even have blue eyes? What is his build like when he's not in the suits and all the baggy clothes? He could probably play Steve Rogers before he is given the soldier serum.= Another big maybe leaning towards yes(Nix that idea, I guess).

Sorry Lee, but if you had seen Ryan Mcpartlin...anyway, I still say Armie Hammer, but Ryan Mcpartlin is the only logical next best choice.
I'm still gonna have to disagree with Scott Porter as any choice, though. His voice is all wrong.

You can say you don't like his acting, you can say you don't like how he looks, but to tell everyone who are fans of this highly talented and thoroughly versatile actor that they aren't Cap fans, is nothing more than severe retardation. I like Ackles and I enjoy Supernatural, but I still hope McPartlin gets picked. Have you seen this dude? He not only looks like Steve Rogers, has the perfect height and a good frame, but his voice is freaking PERFECT for Cap. But if not him, then Jensen by default.

McLovin- McPartlin's definitely on my list but has never shown the intensity required for the role as much as Jensen has. So Jensen will forever be my #1 choice but McPartlin is still a valid candidate IMO ;)

Shaman - That is true, Jensen has proven that he can handle intense scenes. But maybe McPartlin can too, we just haven't seen it. I would be happy if Jensen got the part though, simply because he is much better than some of these clown they've been tossing our way. But as far as physical appearance and the voice (I keep stressing the voice because when I hear "Avengers Assemble" for the first time, it has to be done right!) this guy McPartlin is the perfect candidate. I just really want to trust that Marvel will be considering all of this and will in the end, make the right decision.

p.s. God help us if they don't!

McLovin- I'm sure they will. Right now all these rumor articles are making us antsy but for the moment, we haven't heard anything to warrant worrying. I'm sure pretty much every choice we heard so far that seemed decent actually could pull off the role hands down. I just go by past experience a bit more than looks & voice alone. I try to put every egg in the basket and so far i feel Jensen's got the most. I wouldn't bitch at all if McPartlin got it cause i know he'd nail it as much as Evans & Vogel! Hedlund i have doubts just because of his lack of presence but i know he's very versatile so i don't think i'd be that worried. So far, i'd say the casting is in good hands ;)

I hope you're right Shaman. I am also going by the fact that so far, all of the Marvel Studio movies have not dissapointed (yes, I'm one of those that actually enjoyed Punisher: War Zone). Actually dissapointed is not even the word. Iron-man and TIH are one of the best CBMs EVER! I have to agree that acting skills are the most important factor here (this is Captain America we are talking about!) so the actor has to have the versatility and presence of Tom Hanks but the looks that are at least close to Steve Rogers. All of these rumors are nuts though! I've never seen something like this linger for as long as this has. Or for that matter, to have so many different rumors with so many diff actors involved. I just really hope every time I log on to this site, that I open it up and see the head lines: Finally, the wait is over! Meet Captain America!!!"

@XavierFrost- Bottom line Jensen Ackles cannot act. Plain and simple. He COULD NOT POSSIBLY hold his own against RDJ, not if his life depended on it. Plus, have you never read a Captain America comic-book? Do you not know that Cap started off SICKLY AND SCRAWNY? Honestly I wouldn't care if Jensen Ackles was the spitting image of Captain America (which he clearly isn't) he's still a sh!t actor, he's a TV actor and he should stay that way, there's no way I'm watching First Avenegr if that talentless nothing gets the part, because I don't want to see a great character get raped by bad acting. Ackles fan-boyys ar epractically popping boners over the guy man...
