DC Entertainment, distributed by Warner Bros., has a lot on their plate with Green Lantern currently filming, Third Untitled Batman movie scripting, a Superman: Man of Steel reboot expected for 2012 holiday season, and Jonah Hex hitting theaters in a few weeks.

Warner Bros. chairman and CEO Barry Meyer says that DC Comics characters are key parts of Warner's future, and along with announcing a mid-December 2011 release for the Sherlock Holmes sequel, he includes that

they are getting close to giving the go-ahead for a movie about the Scarlet Speedster, DC Comics superhero "Flash."

Barry Meyer includes that films featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Mad magazine characters are also in development, as mentioned before. Past rumors for the speedster, say that writer/producer Greg Berlanti is strongly being considered to direct the movie adaption.

DCMF:: I'm most curios at how they plan on making this movie interesting, more than who they actually cast. Those unfamiliar with Flash, several other individuals in the DC Universe, have used the name, and these have lived either on other parallel worlds, or in the future. Jay Garrick, Barry Allen and Wally West are the best-known exemplars of the identity. And with each character claiming the identity has had different origins concluding in gaining super strengths & speed(obviously).

Casting being one of the important things to make this film work, I personally felt Ryan Reynolds, whose playing Hal Jordan(Green Lantern), would make a greater Flash. What do you think?

they'll ignore GARRICK, anf start with BARRY ALLEN then at the end of the "BARRY TRILOGY" A "WALLY WEST TRILOGY" CAN HAPPEN. BOTH REALISTIC IN A WAY TO COMIC BOOK CONTINUITY.

FLASH (BARRY) 1 - THE TOP + REVERSE FLASH (SECONDARY VILLIAN)
2 - CAPTAIN COLD + WALLY WEST (REVERSE FLASH A LIL AT THE END TO LET PEEPS KNOW HE'S STILL ON THE LOOSE)
3 - REVERSE FLASH + CAPTAIN COLD (NOT WORKING ALONGSIDE OR FOR REVERSE JUST FOR HIS OWN MEANS) WALLY WEST BECOMES FLASH AT THE END AND BARRY DIES WITH REVERSE FLASH!

4 - MIRROR MASTER

5 - WEATHER WIZARD + TRICKSTER (MINOR)

6 - ALL THE LIVING ROGUES IN A ULTIMATE PLAN LIKE FLASH IS TRULY KNOWN FOR...CAPTAIN COLD, MIRROR MASTER AND WEATHER WIZARD SHOULD ALL BE LEFT ALIVE TO BE A TRIPLE THREAT TO THE FLASH

Sherlock Holmes was quite solid IMO, I'd be down for a sequel. If it means more RDJ dressing up as a hobo then I'm totally in :)

And hellz yeah to Flash, he's been a long time coming. But, it's a little hard to take seriously after all the on-again's and off-again's with the movie.

Barry for several films, including a JLA movie, and then Wally comes in. And for Barry, Patrick Wilson. Does anyone find it funny that the guy who's talking about this is named Barry, too? Oh the irony :P
seanxvito - 5/27/2010, 2:09 PM
i'm all about a Sherlock sequel...and i really look forward to the flash but i wonder what direction they'll take with it...are we looking at a bart or barry allen Flash or taking a wally west direction with it...i'd like to see a nice mesh of multiple flashes but i reckon we'll just have to wait and see
Checkmate - 5/27/2010, 2:11 PM
I hated Sherlock Holmes. I would like the Flash movie to feature Barry Allen.
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:11 PM
SHERLOCK HOLMES was pile of crap! : D

THE FLASH all the way!!!

NegativeMan @ You would like? It better feature BARRY ALLEN lol!

An good man!
thesmythefactor - 5/27/2010, 2:12 PM
Wow is there any comic book characters Ryan Renolds isnt going to play, I mean I am a huge fan of his but lets keep him to green lantern and DEADPOOL!!!!
selinakyle - 5/27/2010, 2:13 PM
Sherlock holmes was bleh. Thank God i didn't pay to watch it. Thank God DC is off its ass.
JonStarkgaryen - 5/27/2010, 2:13 PM
The first CB I ever got was one of the yearly issues where Superman and the Flash would race. Remember those?

I never thought the Flash stood a chance against the Man of Steel...and honestly I don't think a Flash movie would be able to compete with Batman, X-Men (as terrible as they are), IronMan, or an Avengers movie.

I smell another Phantom in the making......
fire59019 - 5/27/2010, 2:14 PM
The Flash would make a great movie, the 90s era tv series was great. However, I would much rather see an Aquaman movie next!!
captquirk - 5/27/2010, 2:15 PM
This is great news, since Flash was the first live action that came close to decent... in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing Jay Garrick, but would also be happy with Barry Allen.
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:17 PM
captquirk @ I'd rather see JAY GARRICK in a JSA movie, (bit like the Watchmen) an have BARRY in this one, don't think JAY on his own would work or be too popular.
selinakyle - 5/27/2010, 2:19 PM
Ooooh...Simon baker is a contender.
DCMarvelFreshman - 5/27/2010, 2:21 PM
If not Reynolds, Bradley Cooper would be GREAT!!!!
sirawesome754 - 5/27/2010, 2:21 PM
awesome they should really make this happen i wonder who they'll sign on to play the flash
InTylerWeTrust - 5/27/2010, 2:21 PM
Baker would be good. Still prefer Wilson as my number one favorite though :)
HelaGood - 5/27/2010, 2:23 PM
yes flash baby! all the way!!!

AND

WONDER WOMAN!!!

but no aquaman. period.
cologne - 5/27/2010, 2:24 PM
Flash has great potential. Personally I'd like to see Wally West, with Jay Garrick as his mentor
FrostyVoice - 5/27/2010, 2:25 PM
Actually, the more I think about it, Cooper WOULD be a great Flash... He's peaking right now and his comedy and sarcasm is in the right spot in this modern era of hollywood to make the Flash work. Like a west coast RDJ. Agreed.
DCMarvelFreshman - 5/27/2010, 2:25 PM
I hope Marvel's Submariner comes out before DC's Aquaman. I'd hate to think general audiences thinking Marvel is following DC....yikes!!
JoshWilding - 5/27/2010, 2:26 PM
Great article DCMF! :)

I know bugger all about the Flash (and who can really be bothered when there's been so many of them, lol? Stuff like that is why I never got into DC!) but a movie would be great! Patrick Wilson was always my top choice...not really sure why! :P

MAKE MINE MARVEL!!!
HelaGood - 5/27/2010, 2:26 PM
@DCMarvelFreshman YES! now THAT is the freshman we all love!!!
AshleyWilliams - 5/27/2010, 2:27 PM
Awesome news!
Zachary Levi-Barry Allen/The Flash
Michael Fassbender-Arthur Curry/Aquaman
Cobie Smulders-Princess Diana/Wonder Woman
Make it Happen WB.
cologne - 5/27/2010, 2:29 PM
Oh and Baker would be in his mid 40's by the time the flash would hit theaters, so I would go with a younger actor..
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:29 PM
[frick] PATRICK WILSON, he's NIGHT OWL and a perfect HANK PYM!!! : P
SupermanReturns2006 - 5/27/2010, 2:32 PM
Mark-Paul Gosselaar "Raising The Bar", "Saved by the Bell" can make an awesome playing "The Fastest Man Aliv e" running across america with his super-speed powers. that ables him to run. I like to see Mark play The Flash.
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:32 PM
No it wasn't!!!! ; P
number10 - 5/27/2010, 2:32 PM
reynolds for the uber win!
DCMarvelFreshman - 5/27/2010, 2:33 PM
@HelaGood LMAO! Don't let the "DC" before "Marvel" in the name fool ya. Ha ha.
claybo4131 - 5/27/2010, 2:33 PM
I agree, I could have seen Ryan Reynolds as Flash more than I could as GL. Looks like DC wants to compete with Marvel and make a Justice League movie eventually.

And please dont cast Michael Cera, I know that was an April Fool joke but still
Anthony3 - 5/27/2010, 2:34 PM
Aquaman!!!
captquirk - 5/27/2010, 2:35 PM
Leee777, you and me think alike. I'd love to see a JSA movie, but apparently it is too much for DC to contemplate, let alone produce a good movie with more than one hero.
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:36 PM
Oh for a younger BARRY =

Yeah I'm still not finished on the SPEED FORCE cast lol!

(Months i tell ya, stuck on one! : P)

: P

Imagine the movie posters with SPEEDMAN on them!

Touch and great actor too!
InTylerWeTrust - 5/27/2010, 2:36 PM
I wonder who'd direct. Matt Vaughn and Edgar Wright would be great IMO, but they're wrapped up in other CBM's.
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:39 PM
Lansdowne5 @ LOL! : D

QUIRK @ Hopefully one day we'll see that JSA movie bud!

It'll deff give AVENGERS a run for its money!!!
Upupandaway - 5/27/2010, 2:39 PM
I'm still skeptical about the possibility of a Flash film. I'd actually love to see Gorilla Grodd on screen.
DLM - 5/27/2010, 2:40 PM
All depends which Flash they go for.

If it's Barry, i say Patrick Wilson...

Photobucket

If it's Wally, i would normally say, Neil Patrick Harris. However, hes getting abit old now, so maybe Ryan Kwanten instead...

Photobucket
LEEE777 - 5/27/2010, 2:42 PM
DLM1POINT5 @ MAYBE???

RYAN is WALLY!!!

Ranger14 - 5/27/2010, 2:42 PM
Reynolds for Flash is a pretty moot point to even discuss now if we are talking who could realistically get the role. I'm good with Baker, Fox or Wilson. I am not the biggest Flash fan, so I am pretty open to who plays him.

Aquaman would be a waste of Warner's money. As part of JLA...sure. Standing on his own. Meh.
