DEBUNKED Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser Poster Revealed?

Could this be a teaser poster for Marvel's patriotic movie adaption of Captain America: The First Avenger. Check it Out!

UPDATE: Last night I contacted the individual who confirmed the legitimacy of the Captain America movie logo revealed here last week to question the validity of this poster. His reply was simple: "The image is not by any means official artwork from the studio." He went on to explain that the easiest tell for an eagle-eyed fan was the included credits; since Captain America does not currently have an editor or composer signed on, and the ones listed in this image are from Marvel's Thor.

I contacted JoBlo.com early this morning to share this information but have yet to hear a response. Instead, it seems they simply removed the original article from their database; since it is no longer available.

The site that gave us the first description & confirmation for Captain America's costume, Joblo, has ran a story claiming to have been sent the teaser poster for Captain America: The First Avenger movie.(pictured below left)


Joblo includes that This was (there) first communique from (an) untested spy, and while the names of villain Toby Jones and female lead Hayley Atwell are curiously absent, otherwise the image appears legit. Which means this promotional poster (or a version of it) will be adorning walls, kiosks and buildings at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam later this month.



DCMF: The logo of this possible teaser (picture right), looks very similar to the possible logo revealed here on CBM exclusively, almost a week ago (picture below). And CBM editor, MultiPurposePoni, who ran that exclusive, stated via Twitter that he received confirmation that the logo was legit. So this teaser poster may be legit as well. What do you think?



Captain America: The First Avenger begins filming on the 28th of this month, June, with a cast lead by Chris Evans, and including Stan Sebastian, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, and yet to be officially announced Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper, and Neal McDonough. The film hits theaters July 22, 2011.

I couldnt begin to guess whether it's real or fan made but it looks pretty awesome either way IMO. Nice find DCMF! :)

Whether it's authentic or not is beyond me, but if it is - what is the name after Neil McDonough? It says "Neil McDonough AND ????".

And I'm still excited about TLJ's casting in this! It brought my confidence level up in the production to another level.

LEEE777 is right it looks like a really good Fan Fic thing, it looks like something that 'FineLine Kreative' multipurposeponi featured in an article back in Feb would come up with..but better. The brick wall gives it away, it serves no purpose the background should have just been black..iam sure we will find out in San Diego :)

Actually - after looking close I think it says 'Patrick Doyle' - anfter googling him I found out he's a composer - I just can't read the tiny letters in front of his name.

That poster can't be legit if the logo from MultiPurposePoni is legit. Look at the T, C and E, and even the proportions of the P.
It's a similar style of font but it's clearly not the same typeface as used in the logo.

I think it's fake because sam Jackson is listed straight after Hugo weaving implying he has a big part yet Hayley Atwell's name isn't anywhere on the list? :S

Fake. Even THINKING something like this is official is shameful. This is an incredibly amateur piece of design, that screams fan-made. There's no way that Marvel would pass something like this as a teaser poster for one of their films.

I agree with Fabs, the font is close, but NONE of the letters are the same (other than maybe the "i")...

It does have me wanting to *find* a teaser poster... Maybe CBM will have an exclusive on Monday 8')

Gaston whoever made that poster should sell it to Marvel. That thing is by far best comic movie poster around, fan made or not. it has cap exactly as I would like to see him in the first movie.

I don't know about the poster image itself, but those credits are fake. In addition to the absence of Halyey Atwell, Dominic Cooper, and Toby Jones, Jon Favreau's Fairview Entertainment is listed, but Favreau is not involved with the project; someone copied that credit from the 'Iron Man' posters. Also, the composer and editor for Captain America are not yet known, so whoever made the credits substituted the editor and composer for 'Thor' in their place. The rest of the credits come from IMDb.

This actually looks like an early teaser poster... I could believe that... now whoever said it look really close to the other fake logo from before should get there eyes checked...

The old one was nothing but Text... and they don't even have the same font, and the spacing isn't the same.

This is in my opinion a very well done piece that will just be a widow piece until they get the real poster in.

@ Lee its fine for WW2 get over it dude. Dude I hate a lot of stuff about Captain America too but take the hate googles off for a second its not a bad costume for the era. Tell me why it doesnt fit?

The poster looks fine for a TEASER poster for [frick] sake. If its fake then I think its a quite nicely done fan art fake poster. Chill out guys till we get confirmation. Everyone so quick to jump to their guns these days. I guess we still living in the old west?
