RUMOR: Wonder Woman Movie In 2013, With David S. Goyer Involved

According to The playlist, The Dark Knight writer David S. Goyer will be involved with a 2013 movie adaption of Wonder Woman. Check it Out!

DC's "Wonder Woman" has yet to get a proper live-action treatment, with tops dogs of Justice League Batman, Superman, and Green Lantern getting all the shine. And while many directors have expressed interest in bringing the Amazon Princess to the big screen, Warner Bros. has pointed out here & there that a film will eventually be made.

Well now according to The Playlist...
"We're hearing that at Comic-Con sometime in the next 48 hours or so WB/Legendary are going to announce David S. Goyer and a "Wonder Woman" film for 2013."

While Goyer has written many films for DC heroes, and few for Marvel too, this rumor comes as no surprise. His name has even been connected to the forthcoming 2012 Man Of Steel reboot, as either the writer or Directer.

On his involvement with Wonder Woman, The Playlist goes on the say...What's Goyer's role going to be. As a director? A writer? We're honestly not sure, the intel is fuzzy.

As Warner Bros. are set to bring the Green Lantern to this year's San Diego Comic-Con, during his panel could be when Goyer's involvement with the Amazon Princess will be announced. In just two days, things will be known for sure.

LEEE777 - 7/23/2010, 10:47 AM
I was thinking today when I saw the headline for Superman maybe being directed by Jonah Nolan, Jonah and Goyer should do Superman and Wonder Woman to have all the TDK screenwriters do at least one movie. Jonah for Superman, Goyer for Wonder Woman.

I'm feeling psychic...
Skeletor - 7/23/2010, 10:57 AM
While I'm not the biggest Goyer fan, it is a good idea to have one writer for the majority of your films.

Samvi - 7/23/2010, 11:03 AM
As long as it gets polish afterwards i'd be fine with it :D
Dynamo - 7/23/2010, 11:05 AM
Let's hope the movie will have a rape scene like in the comics.
Sithsidious66 - 7/23/2010, 11:12 AM
If he Directs say goodbye to a franchise lol :P
teabag - 7/23/2010, 11:12 AM
It's about time..Wonder Woman could be epic!
NightBat - 7/23/2010, 11:13 AM
we totally need a WW movie, but not with this guy....Goyer sucks!!!!

I say Kathryn Bigelow for the director!!!!!
HelaGood - 7/23/2010, 11:15 AM
I'm not a fan of the James Bond movies (acting) but I believe Martin Campbell will do great with Green Lantern. Maybe it's time for Goyer to get a second..third chance? I really do think it's about the material at times, not the director and vice versa
NightBat - 7/23/2010, 11:18 AM
DEADPOOL72 @ Hellz yeah to POWER GIRL! ; D

LEEE777 - 7/23/2010, 11:19 AM
@Sith: wtf?

So, we have two great films and now anyone connected to creating those films MUST be genius. Seriously DC? Seriously Marvel?
jusme6 - 7/23/2010, 11:19 AM
im ok with him writing it but not directing.
superdog - 7/23/2010, 11:20 AM
Wow, Goyer is doing everything now, huh?

@Jusme6, what else would you expect from a Sith?
FullAmpleSally - 7/23/2010, 11:22 AM
I'm not the biggest Wonder Woman fan but I would love to see a movie finally be made! And hopefully Goyer won't direct it, just write or produce it! :P
Ozymandias - 7/23/2010, 11:22 AM
Goyer writing or producing I like better btw..
NightBat - 7/23/2010, 11:23 AM
I hope they use the Romanesque updated costume
BrotherJohnson - 7/23/2010, 11:25 AM
Underwhelming to say the least.

Intruder . - 7/23/2010, 11:25 AM
I agree with HelaGood, Kathryn Bigelow would be a good choice for direct the WW movie.
AngelAragiel - 7/23/2010, 11:27 AM
Sith@ yeah thats pretty fvcked up! sereiously dude you got issues.

Tea@ Jodi Lynn O'Keefe is hott! the only problem is she always kind of plays a bitch don't know if that will be an issue. although i haven't seen her in much lately.
Brashlight - 7/23/2010, 11:28 AM
Ehhhhhhhhh.... I do like Goyer's work though:

Flash Forward(though the actual dialog writing SUCKED), Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Blade, Blade 2

Unfortunately his credentials also include writing and directing Blade Trinity.
jusme6 - 7/23/2010, 11:28 AM
He better not f*cking direct it. He shouldn't direct any DC films.
InTylerWeTrust - 7/23/2010, 11:29 AM
I'll fuhk a jungle of monkeys to tap Christina Hendricks ass.
SirPrize - 7/23/2010, 11:34 AM
I'm fine with him writting it, as long as it get's a polish from someone else.

I really don't want him to direct. He isn't a very good director and for a hero this big and a new property, they need a very experienced, critically acclaimed director. I also think they need a female director for this project because it needs a woman's point of view, this strongest and most influencial woman in comics does need a woman's perspective and a great director's eye. I would say Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation, The Virgin Suicides) would be perfect because she is a really talented director and Lost in Translation shows how perfectly she can do isolation in anothe country, which is what Wonder Woman needs.
commanderhulk - 7/23/2010, 11:35 AM
@sirprize hell ya!! best 3 seconds of her life.
fadawn - 7/23/2010, 11:40 AM
@LEEEEEEEEEE hell yeah to christina hendricks!!!

HelaGood - 7/23/2010, 11:40 AM
I call BS until I see actual Information and not just rumor crap.
ToughGrappler - 7/23/2010, 11:43 AM
fadawn - Screw 3 seconds, I'm going for 6. I'll be drinking a six pack of energy drinks to assault her ass. She'll never look at other men the same.

SirPrize - 7/23/2010, 11:44 AM
Wonder Woman undressing in 3D? That'd be great!
LP4 - 7/23/2010, 11:47 AM
@commanderhulk I like your take on the director from a storytelling perspective. The sense of loneliness would be a nice touch to have in there.

Id be concerned about the action side of it though. For Wonder Woman to work you need smart, believable, but frickin amazing action sequences.

My vote is with Bigelow, hands down.
FullAmpleSally - 7/23/2010, 11:47 AM
@sirprize screw that its a race and im in it to win it.
fadawn - 7/23/2010, 11:52 AM
Don't you dare let that man direct!!!!
Talontd - 7/23/2010, 12:02 PM
USE THIS [frick]ING COSTUME!!!

Shaman - 7/23/2010, 12:05 PM
Finally! Rhona Mitra for Wonder Woman.

Scarlett Johansson for Power Girl.

superheromoviefan - 7/23/2010, 12:09 PM
YEAH USE THAT [frick]ING COSTUME!!!
AngelAragiel - 7/23/2010, 12:10 PM
hmmm... interesting but that's a long time from now...
otherside - 7/23/2010, 12:11 PM
I won't watch unless they change WW costume. Who fights crime in a once piece bikini?

Superguy1591 - 7/23/2010, 12:13 PM
Whatever happens Wonderwoman better be a badass movie no mess ups DC get it right the first time.
ToughGrappler - 7/23/2010, 12:14 PM
Why is it that most female superheroes are damn near naked?

Why would I take them seriously? And Shaman beat me to it.

Also, Megan Gale is Wonder Woman!

Superguy1591 - 7/23/2010, 12:18 PM
Superguy1591- No problem man! Great minds :))
Shaman - 7/23/2010, 12:22 PM
im absolutely pumped for this. a wonderwoman movie has been long over due. im just not that excited over the new costume that dc has come up with. they need to stay traditional. i also agree 100% that writers for these moies....batman, superman and ww should be the same people. this way there a litle better control over how they all tie in. marvel has done well but dc is going to surpass them. cant wait.
naterator - 7/23/2010, 12:26 PM
kim director all da way

TANKGIRL - 7/23/2010, 12:34 PM
Rhona Mitra or another woman with some kind of European/Latin ethnic mix.

A strong woman too, not a skinny/blonde/fake boob generic Hollywood bimbo. Cast a strong European, shit maybe even a Greek woman....something good and different!

A woman needs to be cast in this role....a lot of the names being thrown around are comical.
MIIIK - 7/23/2010, 12:39 PM
hell no to rhona mitra she look like dude got plastic boobs and long hair
TANKGIRL - 7/23/2010, 12:40 PM
@ leee777 we need a powergirl movie or is it just me that needs a powergirl movie.

@ helagood awesome powergirl image.

@ superheromoviefan scarlett, not a bad choice i wouldn't mind seeing her in that [frick]ing awesome powergirl costume.
deadpool72 - 7/23/2010, 12:45 PM
Here's hoping. 2013 could be the year for DC if they get that and a Flash movie out that same year. Keeping my fingers crossed.
skullboy - 7/23/2010, 1:00 PM
Wonder Woman is gay =P
thatiscrazy - 7/23/2010, 2:31 PM
@superheromoviefan RHONA MITRA WOULD BE PERFECT!!!!
HelaGood - 7/23/2010, 2:53 PM
@Tank Girl....your Rhona Mitra comment makes no sense.

Observe the following evidence......

.............I rest my case. She would make an excellent, beautiful, and powerful warrior.
MIIIK - 7/23/2010, 2:59 PM
I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU GUYS THINK RHONA MITRA FOR WONDER WOMAN!!!

AsianAvenger - 7/23/2010, 3:36 PM
Ahhhhhhh HAVE MERCY.....

Rhona Mitra is one hot piece of ass! Praise London for producing such a piece!
blueorangeny - 7/23/2010, 3:37 PM
I'm with MIIIK. Let's get an actual Greek! Let's hear her struggle with the accent a little, too! I picked Corina Stergiadou five or ten years back, but she's 30 something now... still, now that's an Amazon princess. Can she act? I HAVE NO IDEAAAA!!!!!

AlternateNo4 - 7/23/2010, 4:10 PM
rhona mitra as WW by a nolan script...would be win...wolfgang petersen or a nolan directing would also be epic...i still have some hope goyer will do well
Anil Rickly - 7/23/2010, 4:32 PM
Whoa I wasn't expecting to see Goyer with a full sleeve (tattoos). He doesn't look like a guy who would do that type of thing. I mean, look at his face, he doesn't scream "I have tattoos" lol. Totally suprised and impressed actually. Guess we can't judge a book by it's cover in rare cases lol.
Chad Vital - 7/23/2010, 4:35 PM
They need to pick a sexy Greek actress to play WW.
SirPrize - 7/23/2010, 5:04 PM
since she comes from an island, this is also a perfect time to grow some balls and introduce aquaman as somebody she already knows since BEFORE she started interacting with our society. good way to get him a little exposure as a tough, hardened character so when his solo movie gets scheduled people will know he's going to be treated with respect.
AlternateNo4 - 7/23/2010, 5:15 PM
I'm a fan of Goyer, and all, but he does NOT need to write or direct this film. Maybe produce it or collaborate with people but not actually write or direct.
JJMeylar - 7/23/2010, 6:51 PM
@AlternateNo4: What if Corina Stergiadou was cast as WW's mom Hipolita and Rhona Mitra as WW.....or even the other way around would satisfy me just fine.

BTW nice find with Corina Stergiadou, holy cow dude!
MIIIK - 7/23/2010, 7:36 PM
ERICA CERRA FOR WW FTW.
Joey Misfit - 7/23/2010, 7:53 PM
rhona mitra is a little short... only 5'6" or 7" it seems... but hollywood does make magic. she looks simply DELIGHTFUL... i haven't seen her do anything, so i can't be sure, but i won't argue. was she any good in Doomsday? seems like if we're going with B list girls, Milla Jovovich has earned a shot over this Mitra person.

still, a greek would be a classy statement. maybe if they cast Corina she'll be REALLY GRATEFUL that i suggested her... ;)
AlternateNo4 - 7/23/2010, 7:58 PM
David Goyer is over-rated as a writer, and terrible as a director.
hescian - 7/23/2010, 8:18 PM
If you want to ensure failure, have Kathryn Bigelow direct WW.
Hescian, I have reservations about Goyer doing the story all by himself for the same reason you mentioned. He's not bad, just hit or miss. He's got great ideas, but he doesn't flesh them out as well as others can. Give WW to a seasoned director like Frank Darabont, or Zack Snyder.
Phinehas - 7/23/2010, 8:31 PM
Yes to a Wonder Woman movie all the way...No to David Goyer writing or directing in any way, shape or form. DC or WB doesn't owe a damn thing to this guy for them to even think about possibly handing him the reigns for a WW film. Yes he has ideas but his ideas lack a sense of direction which is why his scripts have always had rewrites by other writers/directors. I hope he doesn't come anywhere near the director's chair for Superman's next film and hope WB/DC decide to look elsewhere for a WW film.
