In addition to the set image posted earlier today revealing numerous extras dressed in 40's attire, AceShowbiz has revealed even more images from Marvel's much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger. And though Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was not seen for the scene, the director Joe Johnston was spotted on the location.

As mentioned before, the scene is set during Victory in Europe Day. And the set images below show extras waving U.K.'s flags, sharing smiles and hugs as they reenacted the situation when the WWII Allies formally accepted the surrender of the armed forces of Nazi Germany in 1945.

From these set images, the Marvel crew & Joe Johnston are doing an excellent job of making the 40's era believable. Anyhow, Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters July 22, next year in 3D!

you have to give Joe Johnston credit, he always has amazing wardrobes and sets. he spends his money well, i.e. The Wolfman, however I still worry about the story, again, The Wolfman (pacing, etc).
ScarletSpidey - 8/22/2010, 10:43 PM
Yeah hopefully Whedon's help on the Captain America script was enough.
JackJNapier - 8/22/2010, 10:50 PM

xkot - 8/23/2010, 5:09 AM
The ladies may not all be Page 3 models, but everyone does have a very authentic '40s look, you have to admit.

I thought Cap was frozen months before VE Day though. I wonder if they've changed that for the movie.
MassExecutions - 8/23/2010, 6:32 AM
Yes, Johnston should at least make this movie look good.

I wonder if we will get a montage of Cap Fighting all through the War and then Red Skulls big plot that gets Cap frozen happens AFTER VE day. That would be cool.
jazzman - 8/23/2010, 7:19 AM
Joe Johnston got alot of things very spot on the Daily Mail Newspaper its the same back in 1945 but they have changed some of the headings. heres the actually Daily Mail Newspaper in 1945 compare to Captain America film newspaper.
also you can see the paper on "Museum of London" website

@CaptainAmerica: "Marvel just divided by zero"--lol, you're my kinda nerd!
ezio619 - 8/23/2010, 8:44 AM
MAYBE CHRIS EVANS WASNT THERE BECAUSE CAPTAIN AMERICA GETS FROZEN BEFORE THIS SCENE AND THEY JUST SHOT WITH EXTRAS TODAY
niknik - 8/23/2010, 10:25 AM
If they are keeping chronologically accurate, then yes, Cap should be frozen I believe. I think (if I remember correctly) he was supposed to be "lost" in April of 45, right after the death of FDR, according to comic book canon. Of course that date has probably been changed since I recall it being explained back in the silver age, so your guess is as good as mine.
Hawksblueyes - 8/23/2010, 10:44 AM
Killer stuff.

Still not sold on Johnston. I just saw The Wolfman yesterday and apart from a few good action scenes, it was not a very good movie at all. Johnston seems to make the movie that is staring him right in the face, it's as if he just takes the script given to him and tries to convert it straight to screen without any kind of artistic input from himself. It seems like he is trying to make the easiest movie possible. Hopefully Cap is his "break-out" movie....even though he's been doing this for years.
TesDaGreat - 8/25/2010, 5:56 AM
I want to see Captain America!
Minotauro - 8/25/2010, 12:45 PM
Is Captain America suppose to have anything affiliated with the UK?..
Ryden - 8/25/2010, 3:00 PM
@Minotauro- It's WW2...America and Britain were allies, remember Britain and Germany have more history together than America. Also, if Cap is the U.S Goverment's top solider then of course he would have visted UK, especially during V Day.
Yourdaddydevilandlord - 8/26/2010, 12:42 AM
Okay....So Paris Hilton is in Captain America? Look at the picture of the blond in the "open my mouth like this?" pose. I'm surprised that Laura Shuler Donner hasn't gotten that skank in as Jean Grey or X-23 or friggin' Apocalypse yet in First Class.
TesDaGreat - 8/26/2010, 8:23 AM
Luigi - 8/26/2010, 9:46 PM
Awesome, I thought Johnston would be going for a completely different tone. I'm glad I was proven wrong.
tricklove187 - 8/28/2010, 2:39 PM
wake me up when there is a picture of captain america.
