X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men. Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, and January Jones, the film releases June 3!

Thank you so much for posting this, last night I had to run and get a refill and I missed this. I was sooooooo pissed off! But now I've seen it. Yay!
Rolanddeschain19 - 6/3/2011, 12:13 PM

i think raven was amazing in this movie, shes just give even more strength to the charactor for the later movies.
it was so weird seeing her with compassion and not the evil bitch she ushallly is, the fact that shes almost kills charly in x 1, now even comes across even more sinister, now we know how close they were as pals.

lol mystique
Ranger14 - 6/3/2011, 12:15 PM
Intruder@ You calling Snyder and Goldman idiots?
jjmeylar - 6/3/2011, 12:16 PM
This is awesome. Does anyone have a vid of the first cameo?
CraptainAmerica - 6/3/2011, 12:19 PM
@intruder. They never said it was a reboot
WellDrawn - 6/3/2011, 12:20 PM
Great idea for a cameo! I'd still take Rebecca Romijn over what's her big face.
marvel72 - 6/3/2011, 12:26 PM
its a reboot,its a prequel.

the movie doesn't know what it is.
SamHell - 6/3/2011, 12:26 PM
She had it right the 1st time
stunning beauty
Whoisstanlee - 6/3/2011, 12:28 PM
This was another extremely tasteful cameo, the Wolverine one in my opinion was perfect. Michael Fassbender REALLY owns this role.
STYGR8dotCOM - 6/3/2011, 12:29 PM
lmao.
RorMachine - 6/3/2011, 12:29 PM
It's a prequel but it retcons certain things from the previous movies. How hard is that to grasp? Is that the only thing you guys have left to gripe over now that every single (rational) person that has seem the movie loves it?
Boyle360 - 6/3/2011, 12:30 PM
I don't get it, who is it?
astromerc - 6/3/2011, 12:36 PM
This makes 0 sense.
RorMachine - 6/3/2011, 12:37 PM
Sorry, one or two critics were meh about it. I wasn't even talking about them, I'm talking about the people on this site! Practically anyone who has watched it has either loved it , had to admit they were wrong in hating it, or at the very least conceded that it was decent. The only people that seem to be left bashing it are people that haven;t seen it..as insane as that is.
adamwham - 6/3/2011, 12:37 PM
I think it can be taken as a reboot. Everyone who worked on the film seems to be iffy on what to call it because if it doesn't do as well as hoped I'm sure Fox will say it was a prequel and move on to X4. If it does do well , which it's gauged to do, then I'm sure Fox will consider it a reboot and start the next in the 70s or whatever. Basically kinda like what Star Trek did. Take what the audience knows and mess with some continuity to possibly create and new trilogy for the better. I loved it. Michael Fassbender was fantastic as Erik.
spidey1994 - 6/3/2011, 12:39 PM
What the-- I am so confused?!
Ranger14 - 6/3/2011, 12:41 PM
Ror@ Pretty hard to grasp considering both Goldman and Snyder said it is a reboot and has nothing to do with the prior films. Fox and Singer threw in a couple cameos and images from prior films to keep up the smoke and mirrors. I have not once said it would be a bad movie. I have actually said I am sure it will be a good movie, but it will be a lousy adaptation. Loving the movie and accepting it as a prequel are two different subjects. If a few references to the prior films is enough to keep you thinking it is a prequel...all the power to you. If the movie producer (writer) and director aren't even convinced it is a prequel, don't expect me to buy into it being a prequel. ;-) I am sure I will enjoy the movie when it comes out on Netlix and watch it for what it is.
RorMachine - 6/3/2011, 12:48 PM
Look, forget what anyone ha said and just WATCH THE MOVIE FOR YOURSELF. You will see beyond a shadow of a doubt what it is. And it isn't an adaptation..what is it being adapted from? It's an X-Men movie base don the years of charter s and history from the Marvel comic. It's a "what if", an "Ultimate universe"..whatever you want to call it. If you don't want to accept that, fine. It's still a great movie.
supercajun - 6/3/2011, 12:54 PM
@sh4ko Dude in the comics she sleep with every body lol
jazzman - 6/3/2011, 12:56 PM
@Ranger14

since when Snyder was part of this movie. its Singer who is the producer and he also said its a prequel. dont act like you did not know its a prequel not a reboot.

@marvel72

its a Prequel it was never a reboot i told u and everyone its a prequel cause its still contain in the same previous movies.

@sh4ko

shes always been a slut
cable23 - 6/3/2011, 12:57 PM
Mystique is getting it in. She got Beats, Azazel, and Magneto.Also Rebeca Romign is still smokin hot.
Stumblin - 6/3/2011, 1:08 PM
That was a pretty awesome cameo! I liked the way they handled it, now if I can only convince my girlfriend to see this...
jjmeylar - 6/3/2011, 1:10 PM
How can anyone not understand this cameo? WTF?
StingrayX - 6/3/2011, 1:13 PM
So is this how the timeline goes?
X-Men First Class
X-Men Origins Wolverine
X-Men
X 2 X-Men United
X 3 The Last Stand

Is this correct? Because it looks like the plot of the original trilogy doesn't play in with Origins or First Class at all.
megabatfan - 6/3/2011, 1:13 PM
Sorry Ror but even when you retcon things it's understandable. Singer blatantly said he was ignoring Superman 3 & 4 with Superman Returns - no confusion there. Star Trek reboot/prequel explained within the movie how the timeline changed by the older Spock's intervention through time travel - no confusion there.
First Class gives no kind of explanation within the movie, as far as I know Fox announced it as a prequel...yet events within the film are contrary to the original.
I can overlook things like in X1 Prof X said he & Erik met when they were 17 but actually didn't till late 20s in First Class.
He even said in X1 that Magneto could shield his telepathy because he helped him build cerebro. Yet in First Class it was Hank's design.
But some stuff that went down clearly sets it apart from the X-trilogy. The only thing that makes any sense to me is if they're ingoning X3 & Wolverine. But I never heard or read anything offficial to verify that!
THORION76 - 6/3/2011, 1:13 PM
Am i wrong to beleve that Mystique is a teen in this movie so you really can't compare the hotness of the two. You guy's need to chill out on cheezin over a teenage character. If she's not a teen then i stand corrected.
Ranger14 - 6/3/2011, 1:16 PM
Ror@ I never said it wouldn't be a great movie and I don't have any challenge with those who think it is a great movie. Different strokes for different folks. I am sure it will be an enjoyable movie for what it is when I see it.

jazzman@ My bad, I put typed Snyder instead of Vaughn. Singer hasn't said anything about it being a prequel for some time now. Since then, Vaughn and Goldman have both contradicted what Singer said. Apparently you missed those articles. I have said since day one I don't buy into it being a prequel. Just because Fox and Singer have you buying the koolaid that it is a prequel by throwing a a couple cameos and images doesn't mean it is a prequel. It's called "bait and switch"..."smoke and mirrors". If the other storyline and continuity issues weren't present I could possibly buy it as a prequel. The only thing that will prove it is a prequel is the direction of the future films. Cable will need to get thrown in the mix to fix up the continuity issues that detract from it being a prequel.
KungFuKoala - 6/3/2011, 1:28 PM
"Maybe in a few years" then a few seconds later they are snogging???

Poor, poor writing. Might decide to skip this movie.
Peteyparker - 6/3/2011, 1:29 PM
@StingrayX I don't know what to tell u becuz if u ask anyone on here they will say its a prequel but then u bring up ur questions (What about the opening to X3, how did that happen?) then they say its a reboot like Star Trek to me its a stand alone that can be anything u want it to be but not bold enough to take a stand for itself and draw a line in the sand and state "This is it!!".
Hardshaw - 6/3/2011, 1:31 PM
You tell them ROR whatever vision the naysayers have it would never be good enough! This was probably the best CBM since Dark Knight or Iron Man...
RorMachine - 6/3/2011, 1:32 PM
How is that insulting anyone's intelligence? That's what it is in relation to the comics. Anyway, I don't debate with people who give an opinion on a movie they haven't seen. It's pointless.
Rozyckulous - 6/3/2011, 1:34 PM
I went to the midnight showing last night. Honestly, First Class was the hero movie I was least anticipating this summer. Fassbender, McAvoy, Bacon, and January Jones were incredible. I have to admit that (IMO)First Class was a much better film than Thor(..which I began to dose off in towards the end) even with its continuity problems. I may go say it again.
Rozyckulous - 6/3/2011, 1:35 PM
say it again. see it again. whatever.
megabatfan - 6/3/2011, 1:36 PM
I'll stop confusing myself and accept it as a stand alone movie that pays tribute to the original trilogy. Yup! that way it makes total sense to me...original first class for sequel :)
nimso - 6/3/2011, 1:43 PM
Can we all forget that X3 The Last Stand was ever made!!! Its a shockingly shite movie. Cheer Brett Ratner for that shite. X Men first Class i cant wait to see it sounds awesome.
BigK1337 - 6/3/2011, 1:46 PM
@Hardshaw
. . . Dude, you realize that exageration is as big as Thor being the best CBM since Dark Knight.

@RorMachine
What about someone who spoiled themshelves on Wikipedia? And to be honest, the movie is as enjoyable as Fantastic Four Director's Cut movie; not a very good adaption but not a terrible movie to watch.
MellowYellow23 - 6/3/2011, 1:50 PM
Saw this last night and I don't really understand it. The kiss???? I need more. Time to start production on XMFC Part 2. lol
BigK1337 - 6/3/2011, 1:52 PM
@puyguy
No. Plus, Mystique banged alot of dudes (and chicks) in the comics. The only known children she gained was Nightcrawler from Azazel and Graydon Creed from Sabretooth.

jazzman - 6/3/2011, 1:54 PM
@Ranger14

how the hell u dont buy it as a prequel this movie is set before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr become the characters we know in the previous movies. plus Singer said his still intrested in doing another X-Men movie in the present meaning a X-Men 4. plus the reason why its a prequel cause this movie has cameos from other actors who starred in the other X-Men movies and its known as a prequel not a reboot. u have been fooled in believing its a reboot.
