Scheduled to appear at this year's New York Comic Con tomorrow, ABC News got an early chat with 'Loki' actor Tom Hiddleston. Ultimately rehashing on the character's mischief in the Joss Whedon-directed flick, as well barely dodging a question about the speculated secondary villains, the Skrulls, among other things, watch the interview below.

UPDATE: In a separate interview with HitFix during a NYCC roundtable chat, Hiddleston discussed more about The Avengers, including words of enthusiasm from Joss Whedon, the dynamic with Chris Hemsworth's 'Thor,' and more. Thanks to Graphic City for the heads up.

On advise Joss Whedon offered...
"More feral and enjoy yourself," he said. "Loki's definitively more menacing [in 'The Avengers']. In 'Thor,' he was a lost prince and there was a degree of vulnerability and confusion about his identity. In 'The Avengers,' he knows exactly who he is and is fully self-possessed."

On how Kenneth Branagh differs from Joss Whedon...
"['Thor' director] Ken [Branagh] and Marvel already had a clear take on the world they wanted to make, but I borrowed from both [Marvel and Norse]. In the Marvel mythology, initial incarnations of Loki just have him cackling on the rooftops. He's very much a two-dimensional villain. It was only in the Norse myth that you see how psychologically complex Loki seemed to be."

"Joss is a huge Shakespeare buff and Ken's actually a closet comic book fanboy," Hiddelston says. "They both have a pan-literacy about storytelling, mythology and literature and comics and they understand the classic tropes and narrative arcs of storytelling. But Ken has a classical warmth about him and Thor is both warm and classical in turn. Joss is more interested in comedy in a sci-fi context."

On the dynamic with Chris Hemsworth's Thor...
"During our first scene together in "The Avengers," Joss was like, 'You really make each other better. That's a really amazing thing to watch,' Hiddleston says. "It's not an intellectual thing. It's like when you play tennis. You're just so evenly matched. I think Joss has a soft spot for Loki. He likes him as a character and felt he could take both Thor and Loki further down that path and make the sibling rivalry a really interesting element of the clash of egos in 'The Avengers'."

On retaining his inner child being on-set...
"There was one day where I managed to slightly mischievously steal Captain America's shield and Thor's hammer and I was parading around the subterranean tunnel," Hiddelston said. "One of the producers saw me and said, 'What are you doing with those?' But I've got quite a good weapon in this one."

On whether he can reveal any spoilerific plot details...
"I can sense the red dot forming on my forehead by a Marvel sniper," he replied to one specific plot question – but shared that, despite the action taking place around the world, Manhattan will become the film's focus point "partly because that's where Tony Stark lives." "It's not an easily functioning team," Hiddelston said of the superhero group. "A lot of the strength and uniqueness of the film comes in the fact that there's a lot of square peg/round hole fitting going on."

For more from Hiddleston on bonding with the cast in Albuquerque, Cleveland and New York, head over to HitFix for the full chat.

It better be the Skrull's. I'll be pissed if its those lame ass Chituari, although Loki exchanging the cosmic cube in exchange for Thanos' army is a sweet concept.

I think it's either :
A. Skrulls( why is everybody looking up in the trailer?)
B. Loki phuques with Hulk's mind and sets him against the rest of the team, as in the animated movie a couple years back.
C.Sentient killer tampons.

zippiesdrainage - 10/14/2011, 5:19 PM
Why isn't there any speculation of the Red Skull making a comeback? At the end of Captain America we see the same power take him away that Thor used to travel around in his movie. Loki is released into space and we know that the Red Skull is out there somewhere too. Why doesn't anyone think that it's a possibility?
FightAs0ne - 10/14/2011, 5:26 PM
They shouldn't be any skrulls in the movie. I do agree that the skrulls are awesome but Marvel has not built enough background on the story for the skrulls to be in the movie and it would have to be wayyyy more than just captain america, thor, hulk, and iron man to take them on they are not no where near experienced to take on an entire army of skrulls....

And in the comics the skrulls infiltrated of over into humanity and waited for their time to strike so maybe they will build up to skrulls in future marvel movies thats going to be released eventually and put them in Avengers 2 but there is no way the Skrulls will be in the first one....
brewtownpsych - 10/14/2011, 5:33 PM
i can't wait to see Cap'n "just a man" America kick some ass ...
Spidey91 - 10/14/2011, 5:43 PM
@Bodwulf

LOL,awesome.
ThreeBigTacos - 10/14/2011, 5:59 PM
Just thinking about how well done the Alien CGI is going to be gets me tingly. If the first glimps of Hulk looked very good, just think about all the time they have to do the Alien's CGI.
Coloso - 10/14/2011, 6:16 PM

roguegiant - 10/14/2011, 8:01 PM
did u notice how tom sorta was in love with kenneth branaghs style and he kinda just mentions joss's style. it dosent seem as if the cast is as impressed with joss whedons direction of the film as much as his direction of their interactions with each other. he is good with character interactions but this is the biggest comicbook movie ever. i hope he understands cinematic storytelling and as much as character interactions. we dont need a full feature tv show which was really what serenity seemed to be. granted the budget wasnt as big as the avengers but he said out of his own mouth that the movie dosent have to be great he just wants to make a good movie. his expectations dont seem to be that high which is worrying to me. but im sure marvel knows what theyre doin or at least i hope
PoPcornDude - 10/14/2011, 8:15 PM
is it me or Tom 'Loki' and Michael Fassbender Magneto look alike, specially when they smile, they could pass as brothers, being Michael the older brother ?
anyway, great video, hopefuly somebody will post some vids from the convention
roguegiant - 10/14/2011, 8:18 PM
@RamonSuarez i see what u mean but im not saying branaghs is better than whedon im just wondering if he can pull off the scale of what this movie has to be. im sure hes capable of delivering a servicable movie. but speaking as a fan this movie has to be great. and it has to be huge. the trailer didnt seem to be that big in scale. but hey it was only a couple of minutes worth so i shouldnt expect too much. maybe im just worrying about it because ive been anticipating it since the end of ironman 1, and that seems like forever ago. either way i will be there on the midnight showing proudly wearing my fanboy hat...and a box of milk duds
NeoBaggins - 10/14/2011, 8:42 PM
The Skrull response is interesting. I can see them not wanting to debunk Skrulls even if there are none. It's smart from a business stand point. This is making me hope they're in the movie again.
