Conducted while filming for Marvel's The Avengers was underway, immediately prior to filming an action scene, Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth discussed his godly reprisal as 'Thor,' with FilmInk. Dotting on the Mighty Avenger's contribution to the story and Joss Whedon's "impressive" directorship, read on below!

"This movie is much more of an ensemble piece than Thor, obviously," the actor says. "It's been a trip. In a strange way, Thor finally fits in because he's not the only guy dressed up in a strange costume." And speaking of costumes, Hemsworth smiles saying, "This time it's sleeveless, so it's more of a summer number," he laughs.

Rehashing on Thor's contribution to the story, he says "Thor has more of a personal investment. It's not just some bad guy that he's gotta take care of; for him, it's family. There's a sense of,'I'll beat him up and teach him a lesson, not you guys.' It's the first time in ages since he's seen his brother, and it's amongst all this chaos."

"I'm hugely impressed with how Joss Whedon has worked all these characters into the story. I was asking myself, 'How is it going to work?' But Joss is a genius in the way that he's written this. All the characters get their time, and it ends up being a very iconic collaboration. We've watched these characters grow individually on screen, and to see them come together is really exciting."

Marvel's The Avengers is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

tweeeeenkies3 - 12/23/2011, 8:54 AM
I love Chris as Thor....I am straight, but he is my male celebrity crush!

I love Joss...he is my all time faborite director...
I mean, he did Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my favorite TV show.
He did Dollhouse, my 3rd favorite TV show.
And now he is doing the Avengers, which is my 3rd favorite comic book team!

I have all the faith in the world...Oh, and speaking of Faith, Eliza Dushku, my favorite actress, and sexiest woman alive was in Buffy and Dollhouse!
MovieMaster - 12/23/2011, 8:54 AM
@HellsHammer- Avengers looks colorful and crappy. Troll badge here I come :P
redleaf - 12/23/2011, 8:54 AM
"In a strange way, Thor finally fits in because he's not the only guy dressed up in a strange costume."

What about the Warriors 3? Doesn't seem like an adjustment. Just working with a different team.

Joss Whedon has a lot on his shoulders. Really counting on him to bring back some of the grit Favreau gave to Iron Man 1.
Shaman - 12/23/2011, 8:55 AM
If i was to be emprisoned with a bunch of guys, i'd wish it was with this cast. I'd be their bitch willingly. Soap up, boys!!!
tweeeeenkies3 - 12/23/2011, 8:56 AM
@HellsHammer...No one would report you for your opinion, if it is said correctly, and not douchey!
So, you are fine!
How you worded your statement was not douchey...it was an opinion.
GUNSMITH - 12/23/2011, 8:57 AM
HEMSWORTH FOR HE-MAN
Shaman - 12/23/2011, 8:57 AM
tweeeeenkies3- Isn't it weird how Eliza Dushku was ugly as [frick] in True Lies? Yet in everything else she's smoking up the screen!
HellsHammer - 12/23/2011, 8:58 AM
haha i dont consider myself a DC fanboy, im more of a DC FanMan. Does it look colorful? Absolutely! Crappy? I honestly cant say until I see the film for myself.
tweeeeenkies3 - 12/23/2011, 8:58 AM
@Shaman....Well, she was a little kid in True Lies....so, It is not her fault haha!
HULK2099 - 12/23/2011, 8:59 AM

"First time in ages since he's seen his brother" how long since Thor does this take place?
MovieMaster - 12/23/2011, 9:06 AM
I can't believe people took my comment seriously. It was a joke because HellsHammer said that if he said something bad about The Avengers then he'd be reported by the Whedonites. Lol
HellsHammer - 12/23/2011, 9:08 AM
^LMAO!
6of13 - 12/23/2011, 9:16 AM
Time to hear from Chris Evans now ;)
Jolt17 - 12/23/2011, 9:20 AM
How his relation with Loki will affect the story is one of the things I look forward the most of the movie...as if the reasons are not enough. :)
PeterDarker121 - 12/23/2011, 9:22 AM
He was originally sleeveless...also with the talk that the Hulk is based more on the Kirby-design than previous versions, I'm guessing Whedon will pay more homage to the original series(616)...I HOPE. I STILL want a RICK JONES cameo, though!!
PeterDarker121 - 12/23/2011, 9:24 AM
Pacman, you will know Whedon's name is the LORD...when he lays his vengeance upon thee lol
nuck82 - 12/23/2011, 9:27 AM
lol you asked for it jazzy, so i gave it to you, see im a giver, your a taker
KNIGHT3000 - 12/23/2011, 9:29 AM

tweeeeenkies3- She was a late teen in it, 16-17. Most of those today look like hot milfs, goddamn jailbait!
tweeeeenkies3 - 12/23/2011, 9:42 AM
@Shaman...I think she was a ate bloomer...Because she was 18 in Buffy....and DAMN! She was fine as hell!
MovieMaster - 12/23/2011, 9:45 AM
@Nuck82- I think those pants are on a little too tight :)
Shaman - 12/23/2011, 9:48 AM
tweeeeenkies3- Yeah, she was the hottest thing on earth in Buffy, goddamn i was like "Michelle who? Alisson who?" LOL
soaponapope - 12/23/2011, 9:55 AM
I can't imagine what it's like for some of you, being a fanboy who only likes one particular publisher and hates the others. it must really suck limiting yourself like that.
HellsHammer - 12/23/2011, 10:00 AM
@soaponarope
Its actually good because at the end of 'New Comic Book Day' we save more money than we would if we had bought both companies books!
HellsHammer - 12/23/2011, 10:02 AM
@intruder
you might be avoiding stepping in crap on the sidewalk but every now and then a bird is going to sh*t on your car.
haljordan73 - 12/23/2011, 10:04 AM
@soaponarope
AMEN!
tweeeeenkies3 - 12/23/2011, 10:06 AM
@Shaman....Oh yeah!
Sarah is fine as hell...she always has been...BUT. Eliza blows her away! Like DAMN!
Eliza is beyond sexy, gorgeous, and beautiful...Allison was a very late bloomer!
She is hot now!
MoonDoggyX - 12/23/2011, 10:19 AM
There had better be some team-up or special attacks in this movie! I mean Marvel Alliance style... If not, then what's the point of having all these heroes in the movie tgether...?
Deadpoolican - 12/23/2011, 10:20 AM
Get a hair cut ya hippy
Gmoney84 - 12/23/2011, 10:46 AM
Shouldn't that be "haircut"? What you typed is indicative of getting one hair cut.

Sorry, I'm a grammar Nazi.
gambgel - 12/23/2011, 11:09 AM
All these quotes from the actors praising Joss about how he give each character their time to shine....

its like... what the hell are were you thinking? To write an script and to give each main character some scenes to shine isnt as hard, you know?

havent they seen some the big movies from Movie history or what?
Ranger14 - 12/23/2011, 12:12 PM
"They praise Joss every week on this site about the same thing. But I have to be respectful or else the Marvelites and 'Whedonites' will report me!"

Of course they praise him about the same thing, because Whedon is a master working with ensemble casts. The cast recognizes that. That is why I was excited that he is directing. If they weren't all on the same page, I would be somewhat worried.
Ranger14 - 12/23/2011, 4:30 PM
Ironman53@ I would like to think Hemsworth has much better taste than to stoop to that. :-P
Ace101 - 12/23/2011, 7:27 PM
A normal and sane person would avoid things they dont like or wouldnt enjoy and not waste there time. Nolanites would stay on non- avengers related posts/news and Whedonites would roam non-nolan batman movies. And all those like me who like both and all CB companies are free to roam anywhere on this site, cause we aint fanatics. Why would ppl like Illwill waste their time on Avenger related articles or Intruder on TDKR related articles and go trolling and talkin sht, its illogical, stupid and wasting time. fanatics man [frick]ing piss me off. >.<

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!ლ(ಠ益ಠლ
DEFENDER - 12/24/2011, 7:26 AM
sure thor's costume looks good but he should be wearing the helmet in one fight scene or even if he's just talking.
DEFENDER - 12/24/2011, 7:32 AM
anyone & everyone are very much aware that all the actors in the avengers movie are extremley handsome, beautiful damn goodlooking people so what's the big deal if the helmet or mask covers their faces for 30 or 45 minutes of the movie ????????
SkateandDestroy88 - 12/24/2011, 11:54 AM
Man Thor was such a great film I thought. I watched it so many time TRIPPIN BALLS.

SkateandDestroy88 - 12/24/2011, 11:58 AM

EarOne - 12/25/2011, 12:46 AM
