Idris Elba Reassures Reprising 'Heimdall' In THOR 2 And Is "Not Sure" About THE AVENGERS

Make the jump for a video interview with the actor behind Marvel's "Guardian of Worlds," Idris Elba, reassuring us that he'll reprise 'Heimdall' in Thor 2, although "unsure" about Avengers

During last night's 2012 Golden Globes awards, English actor Idris Elba won Best Actor in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for his portrayal of DCI Luther in the thriller series Luther. And afterwards, MTV caught up with the star, where he dished on his reprisal as 'Heimdall' in Marvel's Thor sequel, among other.

There isn't much known regarding actor Chris Hemsworth's 2nd solo outing as Marvel Studios' God of Thunder 'Thor.' However, we do know the Alan Taylor-directed sequel will explore new worlds, plus the relationships with Anthony Hopkins' all-father 'Odin' and Natalie Portman's "Woman of Science" Jane Foster. In addition to the return of Tom Hiddleston's mischief-maker 'Loki,' the horde of Asgardians and Norse creatures will expand.

And what makes Idris Elba's mention of being "unsure" if he'll appear in The Avengers, rather than a fat "no," is that we don't know how much of Asgard will be explored in the highly-anticipated film; if at all. And considering 'Heimdall' is seemingly what separates our world with Asgard, there's a definite possibility for a cameo.

With filming scheduled to commence in London, this summer, the tentatively titled Thor 2 sequel releases in theaters November 15, 2013. And speaking of the tentative title, if it's not too much trouble, hit the jump out my own attempts at a title treatment for the much-anticipated sequel.

Hehehe, I'd love to see him on the avengers, but then again we don't know how thor comes to earth, if it's bifrost, some jane foster device or if mjolnir now can open portals like in the comics.

People were upset that he was playing Heimdall because he was black, I was upset about him playing Heimdall because I thought it would keep him from playing Luke Cage or Black Panther.

"I think vague answers often mean yes, but with disclosure clauses.
I think they will have to show some of Asgard and the Asgardians to explain how Thor gets back to Midgard."

Agreed

Man this is freaking awesome. So Anthony Hopkins is reprising as Odin. Even just cameos in Avengers from Heimdale Jane Pepper would be pretty cool. Man this movie has got me excited, to see some new mystical creatures and realms.
CANT WAIT to get all BLAZED OUT and catch midnite showing. Can't believe its 2012. At twenty bonghits a day thats about 2,100 bonghits till Dark Knight and Avengers then Man of Steel.

Bring on Heimdal, he was one of the delights of "Thor"

He was great in Thor! Only problem is that he is not Sif's brother like the comic books.

@Morty That's one awesome icon you've got there!

The avengers needs to have every supporting role from all the movies so it could be more epic

I didn't know that he was British. That's nice. Anyway: I hope that he's in the sequel more than he was in the first one. He was bloody BRILLIANT.

personally, THIS guy should play Black Panther. but, i guess, he'd be too tall for T'Challa. how bout Chiwetel Ejiofor..?? he's my second pic. my original (and i think IDEAL) pick is DJIMON HOUNSOU.
