Solo HULK Movie Broached Again Via Mark Ruffalo!

Further implying that the Hulk may get another solo venture, thanks to his praised Mark Ruffalo-inspired debut in Marvel's The Avengers, another hint unveils via the actor himself.

With four films dated for the next two years, one of which remains undisclosed, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has repeatedly disregarded taking another stab at a solo movie for the Incredible Hulk. However, days prior to Marvel's The Avengers U.S. release and record-shattering box office results, Marvel Entertainment's President of Consumer Products, Paul Gitter gave the notion that the studio was revising their gameplan.

Going as far as saying we could see another solo outing in 2015, (the same year Feige has already promised a "big cinematic event"), Gitter added that the changed plans was due to the Green Goliath tracking very well in audience popularity; thanks to his revised Mark Ruffalo-inspired role in Marvel's The Avengers.

Further increasing that possibility, Bryan Alexander of USA Today recently questioned the solo idea once more, in which Ruffalo then replied, "The producers have sort of asked me about it in some drunken nights in our European press tour, where I would like to see a new movie go."

There is that old saying, "a drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts." Although we shouldn't expect this Hulk venture for the undisclosed 2014 movie, evidently, it could move into production before The Avengers assembly for the sequel; depending on what this so-called "big cinematic event" will be. What do you think?

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

UNCANNYXMAN

I disagree. It all boils down to getting the right production team on the job. A solo Hulk film can work with the right people involved.
thalidomide - 5/7/2012, 10:15 PM
Make Joss their consultant for this film since he was the one who made an awesome Hulk

Not bad for a TV director huh?
ralfinader - 5/7/2012, 10:28 PM
Would love to see another Hulk film. Bring it. BRING IT!! And stay with this actor, design, and continue the path he started in Avengers. And give Hulk more damn dialogue! DO IT!!!
SpiderJerusalem - 5/7/2012, 10:31 PM
Just make him a misunderstood heroe and not a fugative simple

Hulk was awesome in the Avengers. Ruffalo himself though i feel was hit and miss, his acting kinda bugged me in the beginning of the film, the scene with black widow mainly. i did like him though when they were all arguing amongst each other.

solo Hulk would be cool but i would rather see other properties get developed first, mainly black panther and dr strange! oh and Inhumans would be sick.

I want to see Hulk vs. The Leader on screen.

And 2015 is probably Guardians of the Galaxy.

i cant see an Ant-man movie working at all. just the name alone will turn people off.

Cinematic event? I think it all points to what they are going to build up in the sequels. I think they may go the way of Infinity Gauntlet. But back to Hulk...I would so love to see a sequel to Incredible Hulk. They already teased The Leader so have a good story with Hulk facing off against him.
kevberg - 5/7/2012, 11:09 PM
Like I've said before..they'd rethink rthat if theres enough demand and fan response. seeing as most people thought he stole the show, Its gotta be on their radar now.

i wanna see leader and the U-foes.....a big ass-kicking fest.
kevberg - 5/7/2012, 11:12 PM
I also think that each movie, they should show in the credits, stages of THANOS planning and plotting to lead up the Avengers 2. But seeing as how Joss said that the second would be focused smaller...it may have to wait till Avengers 3. :)
revloveR - 5/7/2012, 11:19 PM
really? no shit. who'd a thunk that when people got to see this hulk, they'd be a demand for it. planet hulk.
soforizo - 5/7/2012, 11:26 PM
@CovertAvenger

Very impressive look. It's a daunting task to create a humanoid creature. Not all shots were perfect, but the Hulk had plenty good shots.
soforizo - 5/7/2012, 11:27 PM
Still funny thinking back on that comment that said the Avengers is "not cinematic enough". LOL!
calin88 - 5/7/2012, 11:33 PM
It makes sense:
2013 Iron Man and Thor
2014 Cap and Hulk
2015 Avengers 2, we get sequels to all characters from faze 1 and don't have to wait 5 years for another Avengers movie, I know, that doesn't leave space for Ant-Man and Dr Strange, but I don't think many people(except comic fans) would see them. They should introduce them in another way, who sees AntMan making 300mil?
ieatlegos - 5/7/2012, 11:38 PM
I like how in the Avengers they tear up the whole MO for the two previous Hulk movies of Banner being all stuck in a hidey-hole and resistant to his powers with one line... "It's easy, I'm always angry..." I was getting sick of him whining about himself for TWO WHOLE FILMS. That said, he's always been my favorite, and I think his solo outings have been OK but could still be great.
TheMightyTroy - 5/7/2012, 11:39 PM
I really hope they do a Hulk Film in 2015. Mark Ruffolo not only played the role of Bruce Banner awesomely, but he blew me away with playing the Hulk too. The Avengers gives to me, the best portrayal of the Hulk and I hope they keep it up in a solo Hulk film.
DevilHulk666 - 5/7/2012, 11:42 PM
Ant man won't happen, Dr Strange could, but probably won't, ...but who knows
Smokey - 5/7/2012, 11:57 PM
They could introduce Pym particles in Iron Man, then Ant-man and Wasp in the next Avengers, but I'd prefer Black Panther, he's a badass mofo, but god I hope they make a Hulk movie, he deserves another chance to be done correctly
FoxForce5 - 5/8/2012, 12:00 AM
I'd like to see Hulk vs. The Leader with The Leader taking.g control of Hulk at some point, needing Iron Man to step in with Hulk Buster armor before Bruce gets control back and takes The Leader out... Just my geek-boy fantasy for Hulk 2, but hey...

Either way, it would make for a budge success and I think a little more than a simple cameo will be nice in the MCU at this point.
Jayman109 - 5/8/2012, 12:06 AM
Ok so I would like to see Mandarin in Iron man 3, Red skull return in Cap 2, a new hulk movie where Red Hulk comes into play bringing back general Ross, and for Thor 2 it could be Thanos going after Loki. Then have all of the villains team together to bring a modified masters of evil to the screen. The avengers vs red skull, red hulk, mandarin, and Thanos? Amazing. Make red hulk a wild card and by the end you could have a red hulk/green hulk team up of epic proportions. My 2 cents. Sorry for bad grammar I'm on a stupid iPhone.
Smokey - 5/8/2012, 12:08 AM
Besides Ruffalo deserves his own blockbuster
Billium3 - 5/8/2012, 12:09 AM
Bring back Tim Blake Nelson as the Leader and the others and I'm in for an Incredible Hulk sequel!
DevilHulk666 - 5/8/2012, 12:14 AM
themumblerises, I'm not a hater mate, probably know more about ant man than you do, ant man doesn't deserve a movie yet, Namor, Stan Lee's first creation needs a movie before Pym
Jefferys - 5/8/2012, 12:15 AM
As soon as Feige said "big cinematic event", I instantly knew it was not an Avengers sequel. They will want to introduce more character's before the sequel to the Avengers, leaving a little breathing time for all. Since we're getting a sequel to Iron Man and Thor, and Cap a year later. With a secret project on the side. Too soon for a sequel, unless it evolves around Ant-man and Ultron.
Jayman109 - 5/8/2012, 12:25 AM
Also by having all of those villains it would not require much back story. Have the leader be the villain in hulk 2 but have him corrupt general Ross and use the generals anger to experiment on him and make him the red hulk, the ultimate tool to bring down hulk. Have an epic battle where the hulk takes down the leader but let's the general get away because he knows the general is Betty's dad and doesn't want to hurt her. This brings into question hulks decision making and the other avengers question wether he can do what is right in avengers 2. Meanwhile in iron man 3, iron man defeats mandarin and sheild takes him into custody. In Thor 2 you have Thanos go after Loki, and succeed. Rather than kill Loki he uses him as a tool to infiltrate sheild and free the mandarin. As payment for his release he agrees to work with Thanos to conquer earth. red skull would be the hardest one to convince people to accept. It has been several years obviously since the events in captain America and convincing people he is still in good health could be difficult. They could just cop out and say that the serum he got slowed the aging process. Anyway I would love to see the dynamic of an unstable alliance play out on screen with all te villains. Have them pretty much beat the Avengers but have there own evil take them down in the end. They start to fight eachother etc. have the general see the evil and realize he may not like banner but he needs to work with him to save not only betty but mankind. I have gotten really carried away here but it just seems so damn awesome in my mind.

Necroxide - 5/8/2012, 12:43 AM
I dlike to see red skull come back at the end of cap's movie with POWER given by Thanos ! :)
Necroxide - 5/8/2012, 12:45 AM
I realy hope nova and the guardian stop him before he get to heart .
marvelstudios - 5/8/2012, 12:56 AM
I REALLY WANNA KNOW WHAT THE OTHER 2014 MOVIE IS!!! i think it will be ant-man/hank pym movie. i agree with brazilianbatman; there has to be TIH sequel to explain what happen to the leader, abomination, betty, general ross.

'big cinematic event'.... i dont think it will be avengers. i think it will be guardians of the galaxy
LOGAN2010 - 5/8/2012, 12:58 AM
I'm really surprised that some of you think that doc strange deserves a movie right after this avengers movie, so nobody believes that black panther deserves a tie in movie ? So lets just forget the fact that cap shield is made from the material that's from black panthers country? Or is it that you all think that he's just not interesting enough for a movie? Any body pushing for doc strange is clearly a D&D fan and that's why your going so H.A.M. for this movie to be made #imjussaying
Marqy47 - 5/8/2012, 1:12 AM
Ruffalo is the best Hulk/Banner to date IMO. I think he was 100 x Norton.
If they had one of their european drunken nights in my town I wouldve convinced them to make this solo Hulk movie happen :D .
It would be a shame to waste what they established in TIH. Also It would be interesting to see what Stark and Banner are up to since it was implied they left together at the end of the Avengers ... maybe Banner will work for SI or something like that.
DevilHulk666 - 5/8/2012, 1:15 AM
Logan2010there has never been a reference linking vibranium to Wakanda
DevilHulk666 - 5/8/2012, 1:18 AM
in the MCU, that is
finaljustice671 - 5/8/2012, 1:25 AM
Put The Leader in the sequel! I know they tied up that loose end in one of the prequel comics but it would be cool seeing him wake up and break out of SHIELD's HQ kinda in the vein of Doc Ock in Spider-Man 2.
Marqy47 - 5/8/2012, 1:28 AM
@grif I think Thanos will be "the man behind the curtain" in this second phase of the MCU and SHIELD will learn a little more about this new threat in every after-credit scene and if it will end with CAP 2 they will be like "We need the Avengers"
DevilHulk666 - 5/8/2012, 1:29 AM
the Defenders should happen before GOTG
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 5/8/2012, 1:42 AM
Sheesh! You people fail to realize that Edgar Wright is oing Ant-Man, did any of you watch Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim, or Hot Fuzz (He did do Hot Fuzz right? Sorry, I'm a Yank)? He knows the genre, go watch Shaun of the Dead, he pokes fun at the zombie genre and all the generic, asinine, cheesy stuff thats always in zombie films, he'll do great with Ant-Man! He'll make him witty, sarcastic, and he's gotta poke fun at his costume, kinda like Johnston did in CA:TFA with the USO costume (And it didn't look bad at all, I mean, it looked cheesy on purpose, but if they made it out of the same material as his Avengers costume...). I bet 2015 will be a Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which will be cool, audiences will accept it quite well. For Instance, at work today, I was wearing a Cap tee shirt and all these 14-50 year old men and women kept saying, "Dude! Did you see the Avengers?! Remember when Hulk went..." I was laughing so hard. I, as much as a Guardians movie sounds badass (Their the Marvel Universe's Expendables), I would much rather want an Ant-Man movie with Fillion in the main lead. And if you haven't read Avengers Origins: Ant-Man and Wasp, do so, you'll se why Edgar Wright is perfect.
