Following the release of Marvel's The Avengers triumphant superhero spectacle, conceptual artists who contributed to anticipated assembly during its early stages of production have revealed images from their portfolios. While illustrator Nathan Schroeder's stunning work highlights Thanos' cosmic lair and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier inside and out, concept designer Steve Jung's selection features Stark Tower and key sequences.

"Avengers was my seventh Marvel film, counting the Xmen and Fantastic Four movies, and my first film working with Designer James Chinlund; but it was quite possibly the most enjoyable," notes Nathan Schroeder's official site. "James was very open to collaboration and eager to embrace 3D modeling technologies. This allowed us to refine the sets we were developing by moving around and viewing from many different angles. For the Director," adds Schroeder, "this means that there's not going to be just one sweet spot for the camera, but he can confidently move about and find many dynamic shots. This really paid off with the Helicarrier, which was a very satisfying model to develop, and an especially impressive set piece in the film."

I couldn't make out anything in those awful dark-lit The Other/Thanos scenes. Especially with polarizing 3D glasses. So glad I can see it here. Cool throne.

And I wish Nick Fury looked like that in the film.

I'm glad they choose to go with a more realistic look of the Helicarrier, those things looks like spaceships.
BANE5000 - 5/8/2012, 8:54 PM
Yeah I couldn't make out anything in Thanos' lair in the movie, was to dark, now that I can see it clearer...thats how a ruler of MCU should be styling in his lair, they should've had it more lit up like in the concept art.

@Gunsmith As soon as I bought my ticket I was asking myself when will the blu ray be released?! And then after the movie all I could do was dream of special features of Banner turning into the Hulk when he says "I'm always angry."
TonyChu - 5/8/2012, 9:12 PM

QuietStorm - 5/8/2012, 9:15 PM
Hey guys, can someone tell me which story arc the movie was based off if there is one, or even a few Whedon & team drew from. I'd like to make a purchase if possible.
QuietStorm - 5/8/2012, 9:16 PM
