Amid a recent video interview with HeyUGuys promoting King of Devil’s Island, Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård essentially confirmed his reprisal in Marvel Studios' much-anticipated THOR followup. Watch the vid below.

In regards to Thor 2, the actor says, "I will try to combine Thor 2 which starts in August and goes to the end of December with the new Lars Von Trier film." Although we don't know how big of a presence Dr. Erik Selvig will have this around, with Natalie Portman's Jane Foster role being expanded, we can at least count on the "mind-controlling" events of Marvel's The Avengers movie being acknowledged. What do you think?

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor 2” follows the God of Thunder to other worlds beyond Asgard and earth. With the Warriors Three tagging along, among other Asgardian warriors, more mythical Norse creatures are expected. “Thor 2” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Mads Mikkelsen, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, and Ray Stevenson. Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. And “Thor 2” hits theaters November 15, 2013.

I recently watched Thor again, and found that I have quite a great liking toward the human characters, including him. So...nice, but I'd rather see the trio back altogether.

hopefully Thor brings Jane and Co. to Asgard so we don't have to see that cardboard town anymore.

He was one of my favorite elements in the first movie, especially in the deleted scenes. I'd be very happy to see him return!

"Filming starts in August and goes to the end of December".That's damn near five months worth of filming.Thor 2 might be a longer movie.I hope its longer.

meh. no problem with him, but his character is pretty uninteresting. i was hoping this one wouldn't spend much time on earth.
TayDee - 6/28/2012, 2:57 PM
He's not a necessary character in my opinion
SkateandDestroy88 - 6/28/2012, 3:09 PM
Right on. Pretty stoked on Marvel Studios and it's rad that they get A listers like this dude to play in their films.
dahamma - 6/28/2012, 3:24 PM
I like this guy. But I want this movie to include Warriors 3 and Sif more. Villain should be Surtur!

And keep it a Thor focused story
NOLANITE - 6/28/2012, 3:54 PM
Didn't he die in the avengers?
He's a waste of space in a film.
Damn traitor.
GUNSMITH - 6/28/2012, 4:32 PM
HE WAS MIND CONTROLLED BY LOKI, HE WASN'T A TRAITOR.
GUNSMITH - 6/28/2012, 4:32 PM
THEY SHOULD GET SKARSGARD'S SON TO PLAY BALDER,
mgeoff88 - 6/28/2012, 6:20 PM
That's cool he's coming back. He is a great actor, and I liked his character.

@TayDee: It's all about continuity.

@Nolanite: NO, he didn't die. Agent Coulson did...or DID he?!?!?!

worldbreaker - 6/29/2012, 2:36 AM
@blackandyellow the reason they brought alan taylor into it was so he could make asgard more detailed and feel more real. i'm just assuming but i would think there will be more asgard than before
