Considering his minor role as "The Other" was connected to the Chitauri and Thanos, whose identities were major secrets up until Marvel's The Avengers anticipated release, actor Alexis Denisof was excluded from the press or any interviews. And now that the film has gone on the become the third-highest grossing of all-time, Denisof took to San Diego Comic-Con, with EW, to finally explain the role and tease his potential future.

When questioned about Marvel's The Avengers mid-credits teaser, Denisof explains, “A seed is certainly planted there for all to see. Of course, I can't say much more than that,” he teases. “[However] there is a lot of talking going on right now about where it's all gonna go.” Clarifying that he's playing "The Other," Denisof says, “I'm the character that sort of sets up the movie in the beginning and I have a scene in the middle with Loki set on the alien world where we have an argument. And then for the final scene of the picture,” he continues, “I report as it were to Thanos about how it all went wrong.” “I'm certainly on the villain team,” Denisof asserts after being asked once more. “Loki and The Other have a relationship. We’ve struck a deal, but the deal doesn’t deliver, so there are ramifications.” Denisof then reassured that we'll soon learn about Marvel's plans.

I've just realized that he is also the guy who portrayed Sandy Rivers.

Holy crap.
Xandera - 7/14/2012, 5:18 AM
I think we'll definitely see him again...
Thegoddamnbatman52 - 7/14/2012, 5:27 AM
@Jolt17 haha your absolutely right I didn't notice that before, I thinking Colbie Smulders aka Robin Sherbotzky playing Maria Hill might have had something to do with that
thalidomide - 7/14/2012, 5:30 AM
So there's a possibility that we might see him again?
PenditaMarah - 7/14/2012, 5:31 AM
"Loki and 'the other's' have the relationship."

Sounds gay.
Widow9813 - 7/14/2012, 5:34 AM
@Thegoddamnbatman
Or the fact that Alexis played Wesley Wyndam-Pryce on Whedon's show Buffy The Vampire Slayer and it's spinoff Angel.

tweeeeenkies3 - 7/14/2012, 5:36 AM
I enjoy Alexis!
Great in Buffy and Angel, so I'd enjoy seeing him again!
Jolt17 - 7/14/2012, 5:41 AM
Thegoddamnbatman52: Now that you've mentioned it...it could be! Sandy and Robin? How come I didn't think of that before!?

"we've struck a deal, but the deal doesn't deliver, so there will be ramificarions".

Looks like someone will need the help of his older brother.

ELgUaSoN@ I got my eye on you. You have always been suspiciously pro-Loki.
I think those ramifications he's talking abut are obviously to be seen in Thor 2. That's what they were talking aboutwhen theyt said there would be consequences of Loki's deal, but it would have nothing to do with Thanos.

Jolt17 and Thegoddamnbatman52- Here is your connection (from IMDB):

"Alyson Hannigan's character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Willow Rosenberg, once mentioned that she wrote Doogie Howser, M.D. fan-fiction as a girl. Hannigan went on to star in "How I Met Your Mother" with Neil Patrick Harris, who as a boy played Doogie Howser. Alyson Hannigan' who plays Lily, is perhaps best known prior to starring in 'How I Met Your Mother' for her role on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". The creators of both of these shows - Joss Whedon of the Buffy series and Carter Bays and Craig Thomas of HIMYM - all graduated from Wesleyan University, as well as did the characters Lily, Ted, and Marshall on HIMYM. Additionally, Hannigan's character from the Buffy series, Willow, got early acceptance to Wesleyan, along with many other schools. Several cast members have also worked with Joss Whedon, notably stars Alyson Hannigan' (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog) and Cobie Smulders (The Avengers). Also appearing have been guest stars Morena Baccarin (Firefly/Serenity), Alexis Denisof (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel/Dollhouse), Amy Acker (Angel/Dollhouse), Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel), Harry Groener (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Danny Strong (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The search for all the main characters' so-called "doppelgangers" is a running joke throughout this series. In 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' doppelgangers were also a frequent theme of many episodes, and most of the major characters (including Buffy, Xander, and Willow) encountered doubles of themselves through plot contrivances of magic or alternate universes."

And can I just say - I absolutely HATE Cobie Smulder as Maria Hill!!! She is NOT Maria Hill and she is just AWFUL in the Avengers!! She is literally the ONLY thing I HATE about the Avengers. Like she is so bad, it actually makes me angry!!!
Nomis1800 - 7/14/2012, 6:34 AM
He looked pretty damn awesome. I thought Loki smiled a bit too much. Made him a bit more unbelievable. I hope they give Hiddleston not too big of a role in Thor 2. I don't want to see him in Avengers 2. His story is over, so far. Bring on those other bitches.

And I hope that Marvel is going to shoot some with IMAX in the future, their films are so successful, so why not make them more successful with a bit of IMAX in every sequel?
Super12 - 7/14/2012, 6:41 AM
^Nomis - eh, idk. Loki shouldn't play as big a part in Thor 2 but he should definitely play a role in Avengers 2. Thanos (or whoever the villain will be) should be the main focus, but then it should be revealed that Loki was either the perpetrator or he has an alternative evil plan he'd been scheming this whole time. He is such a loved character by now and Hiddleston fleshed him out SO well that they can not just call it quits on him.
marvelstudios - 7/14/2012, 7:11 AM
I hope he comes back. Awesome character.
coalesce - 7/14/2012, 7:14 AM
2015 can't come fast enough!
kevberg - 7/14/2012, 7:14 AM
Actually, He's married to Allyson Hannigan. He also is good pals with Whedon. Its actually cool that he got a part. To me, He looks like Bruce Banner stepped off the comic pages...right size, build and look.
mawilli4 - 7/14/2012, 7:16 AM
He had no idea who he is. Thor 2? Maybe.
MrsTonyStark0507 - 7/14/2012, 7:37 AM
kevberg - He really does look like Bruce Banner! In that pic above, I could see him making a good Hank Pym too.
ThePowerCosmic - 7/14/2012, 7:46 AM
Hes coming for Loki. Hes some kind of ancient space phantom. Did you notice in Avengers he didnt walk he sort of teleports.
Jolt17 - 7/14/2012, 8:32 AM
Thinking about it again...everything is related. He's Lily's (okay, Hannigan's) real-life husband, both worked in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, the series is created by Joss Whedon, then he has also worked with Maria Hill in a show which also stars Neil Patrick Harris, who was Dr. Horrible in another Whedon's creation, AND also stars his real-life wife, who has starred in Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, who...

My mind just explodes.

"YOU THINK YOU KNOW PAIN...KNOW Pain...KNOw pain...know pain... HE WILL MAKE YOU LONG FOR SOMETHING AS SWEET AS PAIN!!!"
Montrovant - 7/14/2012, 9:18 AM
Joss Whedon has been known for using the same actors on multiple shows. It's not surprising he'd find a role for Denisof. I wouldn't be surprised to see him find a way to get other actors he's worked with before into Avengers 2.
IgnurRant - 7/14/2012, 10:32 AM
So Loki really didnt plan to get caught by The Avengers so he could go back to Asgard and raid Odin's trophy room? So that was really Loki and the Chitauri's (the most feared army in the glalaxy) best effort to conquer a planet?

Shame.
CoolantTech - 7/14/2012, 10:35 AM
Loved the Angel series and he deserved this role
CoolantTech - 7/14/2012, 10:36 AM
Angel>Buffy
TheAbomination - 7/14/2012, 10:41 AM
We'll probably see him in Thor 2.
DCMarvelFreshman - 7/14/2012, 11:11 AM
@IgnurRant I'm gonna make myself believe going to Asgard was plan B.:)
Dunejedi1 - 7/14/2012, 11:14 AM
In an interview about his character "The Other" in Marvels "The Avengers", actor Alexis Denisof reveals. . . nothing. Absolutely nothing we didn't already know from watching the movie.
DioFoRio - 7/14/2012, 1:06 PM
@Mrstonystark... A friend of mine said he hated her in the role as well. I loved her in the role. Guess the difference would be that I don't watch HIMYM and you two do. She was good because I haven't watched her on a sitcom for the past however many years.
Gamma022 - 7/14/2012, 3:21 PM
Did you know he also voiced Mirror Master in Justice League Doom
ThePissed - 9/3/2012, 8:22 PM
