THOR: THE DARK WORLD Set Construction Spotted In Bourne Wood, England
While nothing exciting yet, set preparations for the “fictional village,” where a battle between two kingdoms will ensue, has been sighted for Marvel's anticipated Thor sequel, via photos!
Near the end of August, a filming sight in Bourne Wood, England was announced for the anticipated Marvel sequel, Thor: The Dark World. And frequently used as a location for filming movies, the woodland areas is said to establish a “fictional village set in another realm,” in the film, where a battle between two kingdoms will ensue.
While set preparations began August 6, Twitter user LOC Ops has shared photos with us showcasing the progress of the set's construction from then up until yesterday. Although nothing too revealing yet, check out the photos below in addition to one via Lyndsay King displaying a bit of the fictional village's architecture.
The circular frame structures will apparently be yurts in the village. And according to the announcement, the sequence will end with Thor coming to save the day. And it'll involve a substantial amount of Stunts and controlled special effects all within the hours 0700 - 1900hrs. Filming at this location is set for September 10.
Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.
“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rene Russo, with Alice Krige & Kat Dennings. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. From a screenplay by Don Payne and Robert Rodat, “Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.
