"It's like playing Tennis with Roger Federer in that he makes you look good"

Wait, is that a complement for RDJ or an insult towards Federer? ;)

God, this movie... No words can define it thoroughly and completely. It's unparalleled; Unprecedented. Damn amazing!

And for those of you who swore Spider-Man was not in Avengers -- For Shame...

:)
JayTopStix - 8/27/2012, 2:21 PM
He is ALWAYS the spotlight. I love RDJ but Cap was supposed to have the center role in the Team, is there is one flaw i saw in Avengers this was probably it.
SimyJo - 8/27/2012, 2:23 PM
RDJ doesn't get the spotlight - The spotlight gets RDJ (if its lucky), is eternally grateful, and doesn't shut up about it afterwards to the rest of the lighting apparatus.

Oh,... and don't watch it. Chocolate doughnut remember!. You'll only feel guilty afterwards and I WILL know if you've peeked!.

I have friends who believe the leader of the Avengers is Tony, kinda pisses me off but I blame Marvel itself.
Maximus101 - 8/27/2012, 2:39 PM
Ya RDJ is the avengers lol literally he got the most screen time it seemed like and badass action scenes as well. I'm pretty sure he was the main highlight in every trailer before the movie was released too.
Judecheung - 8/27/2012, 2:40 PM
RDJ is the center, Tony isn't
Cap is the center, Chris isn't
...well that's just me
Bodwulf - 8/27/2012, 2:48 PM

UrbanKnight - 8/27/2012, 5:39 PM
In Marvels eyes Tony is the leader cuz money talks. Poor cap. Happened to Cyclops too.
UrbanKnight - 8/27/2012, 5:42 PM
And don't give me that they aren't as interesting BS. Make em more interesting!
screechop - 8/27/2012, 5:48 PM
i don't know what you guys are talking about, yeah he was in the front of the marketing and promotions for the movie but that makes sense. What i saw in the movie is Cap as leader. Stark didn't give him two minutes at the beginning of the movie, but near the end, in the big battle. When they're all circled around, RDJ says "Call it Cap" and then cap lays out his game plan and gives orders. I thought it was perfect and think chris evans makes a great captain america. Yeah a lot of people go to see RDJ but I percieved captain america as the leader of the avengers.
angus666 - 8/27/2012, 6:06 PM
Dam I wish I was him.
DCMarvelFreshman - 8/27/2012, 6:14 PM
@screechop I agreed totally. Cap's title as the "leader" was handled perfectly in the movie.

I understand that Cap's "Captain" status would/could consider him the most pivotal character in the movie. And even though Cap did have a few minutes more of screen time than Stark, I like that Stark may get the most attention; it's in his character.

Tony is more fun to see on-screen, and he really brings out the greatness in Cap, just as much as he did Banner. And I just look at RDJ being top-billed as a coincidence; even though he is an amazing, deserving actor.
Morpheus82 - 8/27/2012, 6:18 PM
In RDJ we trust!
UrbanKnight - 8/27/2012, 6:44 PM
"When they're all circled around, RDJ SAYS "CALL IT CAP".....and THEEEN, cap lays out his game plan and gives orders"

Lol.
UrbanKnight - 8/27/2012, 6:54 PM
If I was Captain America I woulda been like "STFU tinman! I call it, you do it!!" Lol.
BattlinMurdock - 8/27/2012, 7:08 PM
Iron Man was on the Avengers first.

Iron Man was Marvel's first film and their most successful (by a LONG shot).

He wasn't the leader in TA.

And that's fact.
UrbanKnight - 8/27/2012, 8:00 PM
Ok facts.
Captain America: The FIRST Avenger!

We are all well aware of Ironman being Marvels first and most successful movie.
They remind us all the time.

Look I love Ironman! I actually rate it slightly higher than The Avengers as a film.
Captain America was "the leader" but in a like... ok cap, I let you lead now that I stole the show. Lol. Wtf?
IMO they give blackwidow the cool shit cap shoulda been doing, while cap watched from the ground. smh.
Still loved the flick but it bugs me when Marvel acts money hungry that's all.

Coolkid - 8/27/2012, 11:29 PM
@immortalvig I second U....:)
RDJ=Stark...!!!
Gottostophate - 8/28/2012, 4:32 AM
This is what i dont like. Avengers was a success because it was a team hero movie and it was cause of all of them not Iron Man. But it not going to stop RDJ or marvel for taking credit and saying that it was because of him alone. Let see neither one of his sols movies did what Batman or Spidermans did. I sorry but Spiderman to me will always be the crown jewel of Marvel and a better hero than Iron Man ever will be. Also i watched Avengers now and enjoyed it very much I just cant get past the whole Thor and Iron Man fight. The whole Iron Man suit getting over charged with Thor lightning was one of the most retarded things ever. Please your telling me a guy in high tech Earth gear can go toe to toe with an Asgarden. As a Thor fan that should of pissed some people off. They totally down played Thor power. Everyone knows the two power houses in the Avengers is Hulk and Thor and the fight between them was kind of weak and short.
Gottostophate - 8/28/2012, 4:41 AM
Also I think it funny how everyone now all up on Iron Man coolaid when in fact he been kind of a bitch in the comics for years. Hell he was a totally dick in Civil War story. In the comics Iron Man could not even defeat Thor in the Hulk buster now all of a sudden cause he more popular he can fight thor in he regular armor. Yea whatever. Thor Dark World sounds like it going to be way better than Iron Man 3. I say it I love Cap and Thor and Hulk the most. I just dont care for Iron Man.
JohnTom88 - 8/28/2012, 9:22 AM
@Gottostophate, you seem to be a sore old comic readership coming from reading that crap Civil War story and don't realize without 2008 Iron Man movie success there won't be the Avengers movie.

Iron Man is the most successful character in the Marvel Studios movie universe, don't care whether you dislike his comic format or not. Because for each comic geek basement dweller like you hating Iron Man, there would be 10 ordinary moviegoers who like Iron Man.

TonyStark87 - 8/28/2012, 9:37 PM
@Gottostophate

what movie was you watching? Thor BODIED that man... he was crushing his armor with his BARE HANDS!!
Oxbow - 8/29/2012, 12:40 PM
i like to think Thor was taking it easy on IM in that scene. He has learned to love humans since the first movie, and didn't want to hurt one (even if Tony was being a total douche)! Yea, the lightning supercharging IM's suit was a reach...but [frick] it, it was still funny
PerlaB4 - 8/29/2012, 5:28 PM
actually to the person who said RDJ got the most screen time in the avengers ur wrong, it was proven that captain america got the most screen time and im pretty sure if the deleted scenes were included nothing would've changed.
UrbanKnight - 8/29/2012, 11:43 PM
PerlaB4 Just cuz Cap got more screentime doesnt mean he got to "shine" like Ironman.
