Filming for the eighth installment to the ever-expanding Marvel cinematic universe, Thor: The Dark World, will officially start tomorrow. Although, action won't take place until next week at the “fictional village,” where a battle between two kingdoms will ensue, built for the production in Bourne Wood, England. And showcasing set preparations at the location being near-complete, photos via Wayne Howes and various others have surfaced.

The first four photos below were taken earlier this week, while the others that follow were taken just yesterday.

Also, the star behind the God of Thunder himself, Chris Hemsworth, attended last night's GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, where he was awarded the International Breakthrough award. Pictured beneath the set photos, the 29-year-old Aussie actor was sporting a full beard seemingly in preparation for the Marvel sequel.

Exploring Thor's relationship with the Asgardian all-father Odin, as well earthbound companion Jane Foster, “Thor: The Dark World” follows the God of Thunder to The Nine Realms beyond Asgard and earth. And as his evil half-brother, Loki, returns for Asgardian justice, a new threat rises. Also rejoining Thor are his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif, gatekeeper Heimdall and Warriors Three, as they encounter mythical Norse creatures among evildoers.

“Thor: The Dark World” stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Jaimie Alexander, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Stellan Skarsgard, Ray Stevenson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rene Russo, with Alice Krige & Kat Dennings. And Alan Taylor (“Game of Thrones”) takes over directorial duties from Kenneth Branagh, who helmed the first “Thor” film. From a screenplay by Don Payne and Robert Rodat, “Thor: The Dark World” is set for release on November 8, 2013.

Looks great but not the most anticipated movie. I think that will be MOS or IM3
DrDoom - 9/5/2012, 1:36 PM
This movie is going to surprise to a lot of people. Can't wait for Thor to get more time in the spotlight. Hope Enchantress and Executioner make an appearance at some point.

Feels like this could easily beat the first one.
Rhinoman - 9/5/2012, 1:46 PM
The first one wasn't bad but really excited for this one. I assume this means Ironman 3 filming is done or is on its last legs
Bane2099 - 9/5/2012, 1:47 PM
Though i like the actual set pieces for the next film, i just hope it doesnt steer to far off from the look of Asgard from the previous film....for continuities sake.
sexfoodcomics - 9/5/2012, 1:47 PM
Looking good. Seems like they are going for a more realistic historic vibe with this movie which is awesom. All Alan Taylor.
CoolantTech - 9/5/2012, 1:49 PM
Looks like this is shaping up to be on par with Shane Balcks Ironman 3, I could assure you this will be better than the mediocre original we can only hope that the rest of phase 3 would be just as ambitious.

WOTAN - 9/5/2012, 1:59 PM

SomTingWong - 9/5/2012, 2:03 PM

GoILL - 9/5/2012, 2:18 PM
@cipher

LMAO, he rockin somewhat of a Guile from SF fade with a mullet.
Moakynubs - 9/5/2012, 2:20 PM
They kinda forgot to dye his beard/eyebrows in Avengers. bugged me. He was pretty strikingly blonde in Thor, but browner in avengers.
Durf - 9/5/2012, 2:21 PM
@GoILL: lol, that's what that look is!
JerBear - 9/5/2012, 2:29 PM
Thor should always have a beard, even in the comics. That's one of the things I feel they should have done and stayed with a LONG time ago.
GoILL - 9/5/2012, 2:31 PM
@Durf6199

lol, when I first saw the pic I only noticed the fade which wasn't too bad, but the mullet to go with it makes him look ridiculous.
Durf - 9/5/2012, 2:37 PM
lol, indeed it does
DrDoom - 9/5/2012, 2:42 PM
I don't like beards.
WOTAN - 9/5/2012, 3:10 PM
I like the mid evil feel that im getting from these pics
Allura - 9/5/2012, 3:43 PM
@CoolantTek LMFAO quoi le f/uq... Lol

Ahem..funny how just a few snippets of a well designed gorgeous looking set is enough to send one's expectation soaring. Can't Wait!!!
thingrock4 - 9/5/2012, 3:57 PM
SSSWWEEEEEETTTT!!!
CapistheMan - 9/5/2012, 3:57 PM
I'm worried about Hemsworth's size. While he was still massive in the Avengers, I don't think he was as big as he was in Thor. And maybe it's just the suit but he looks even smaller now.

That said this movie is still gonna be amazing and I'm loving the set pieces. I love the fact that they're using real locations and dressing them up as opposed to all CGI. Gives it a LotR feel to it.
Nick56 - 9/5/2012, 4:20 PM
hope its better than the first movie.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/5/2012, 4:37 PM
Hopefully they will get rid of the beard in future movies.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/5/2012, 4:43 PM
So are these set picks Asgard?
TheAbomination - 9/5/2012, 5:13 PM
*yawn* wake me up when a trailer is released.
beane2099 - 9/5/2012, 5:29 PM
Really looking forward to this.
GammaVerve - 9/5/2012, 5:39 PM
This is gonna be the best from next year! At least, it's my most anticipated!
DCMarvelFreshman - 9/5/2012, 6:09 PM
TheAbomination Okay, enjoy your hibernation. Should be the remainder of the year, and then a couple months after that.
Ha1frican - 9/5/2012, 7:57 PM
I prefer the shorter hair from THOR but i hope the Avengers costume or even a visual upgrade is featured in T:TDWw
Ha1frican - 9/5/2012, 7:59 PM
@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 i like the beard, it was better blonde but it makes him look older and idk it just adds something for me
Fogs - 9/5/2012, 9:09 PM
Svartalfheim.
THORGodOfThunder - 9/5/2012, 9:31 PM
